awsome... mad skills now try a 737 or airbus into Juneau or Kodiak becomes more difficult due to the up drafts and down drafts makes for very interesting cross winds
if u wanna do crosswindss u gotto use math calculations... gotto do sum shit with the wind speeds the angle ur going at andd how far ur from the runway and all that crap.. my bro does it all the time and perfectly all using math... soo just get those math calculations and u can do one perfectly too=P
Awesome landing, i'd like to be abble to land with a very strong crosswind, but actually, a crash my plane everytime... I watch on internet the procedure you used, and I keep on working !!! See U captain !
in heavy crosswind you dont need so much speed, as the wind speed keep the plane in the air, so there is no need for long runways in heavy frontal crosswinds.
yup... I can't even align the plane properly in perfect conditions, not to say cross winds... Can someone teach me how to align the plane properly (that is without using slew)
thats not true, see you lot arnt very good pilots, reverse thrust is enabled so is the spoliers when the main landing gears are down, it doesnt matter if the from gear is down or not...
Nice landing, but you never reverse the thrust until the airplane reaches ground level. In this case you need to have the landing gear all the way to the ground:)
i was on a 777 BA flight into Atlanta ga once and the engines went into reverse about 10 to 20 feet above ground just before the main wheels hit the runway.
that was awesome, I love a good crosswind and I know how hard they are. Did you use the auto approach to correct the wind? Im always adjusting the ailerons on the way in, it looked like you had the autopilot put in for the crosswind component.
Excellent

great landing..thoug it is weird to stop that fast ! even you are on max autobrakes !

there is NO way that 47 woulda stopped THAT short on the runway! I don't even think a "Short Field" 747 woulda stopped that quick!

Lokabergslagen 5 years ago
this looked really pretty...
...but a 'frontal crosswind,' that's a contradiction in terms, unless you mean more of a quartering crosswind, not a direct [90 deg] x wind.
tarqys 5 years ago
That's correct. I Mean that the crosswind is not a 90 deg. and that wind may help the plane aviate in slow speed.
Lokabergslagen 5 years ago
thats a VR plane. not a real one

georgexbox 5 years ago
never reverse the thrusters until you have the plane completly on the ground.
sKilLs77 5 years ago
That may be true.. but I've seen many pilots use them on main-gear touch down.
Ximensions 5 years ago
yes you can add thrust reverses just as the main landing gear touch down...is very common....
perfect landing great--

can someone tell me how to crab an a/c on crosswind landings?? i have real hard time landing in crosswinds!!!
mohsinalinasim 5 years ago
your a very good pilot and made it look like the real cross wind landings great job
crapper1 5 years ago
If there were 50kts crosswinds that's when I would set the reverse. It stopped fast... max autobrakes?
n0stalgia 5 years ago
Nice landing, but your reverse seems a little bit earlier....anyway, very good landing. Any other crosswind approach? expecting......
malayhorse 5 years ago
Thanks!
After the touch of the main landing gear, the reverse can be set in motion. Look this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2Gg_7wHPAI&search=crosswind
cristianodesa 5 years ago
It is not possible to open the reverse thrust before your wheels touchdown. It must be an error in the aircraft.cfg file.

50 Knots? ouch that must have been tough although you made it look VERY easy! Again I have to say nice landing :P
robster904 5 years ago
But the airplane was very light when I made this landing and the wind was not total 90° (+- 70°) with the runway course. Thanks!
cristianodesa 5 years ago
Nice landing that must have been some crazy ass crosswind did you see the wind sock?
robster904 5 years ago
The wind that I added was of 50 knots. Thanks!
