I love it! It looks like the Thyratron trigger tubes inside of an ANITA calculator. I certainly wish I had a complete ANITA, but I do happen to have six original 1961 ANITA calculator Display/Counter boards. Each board has a ten stage ring counter using neon trigger tubes and a single Nixie tube. I'm using six rotary telephone dials combined with the six display boards to build a calculator.
My old Cordovox electronic accordion uses neon's like that as coupling capacitors. Every note has its own neon light. If I remember right it lets the AC sound frequency pass to the amplifier input buss while blocking the DC bias voltages on the girds of the tubes in the sound generator.
That is an amazing clock.
The Nixie numbers roll over at 24 is awesome !
That would have taken a bit of work to solder it all together.
The neons have clocked up a few hours as they have darkened a bit.

Amazing stuff. I had no idea that you could use neon indicator lamps as active logic elements!
Not just an engineering marvel either, it's a work of art.

Do you find the operation somewhat affected by the amount of ambient light?

Very nice. If you made a kit available I would definitely buy it.

What is the large vacuum tube in the power supply?
jaymahn100 3 months ago
Hi, It's an OA2 voltage regulator tube. It regulates the voltage to 150V.

Thanks! Any other details highly appreciated by all :^)

Brilliant! Do you have the schematic for this work of timekeeping genius?

Hi Radiodave,
Looks great man!
Want to build one myself too! Gattering all the stuff together right now..
Could you give some more info about the R that is setting the OA2 tube?
I presume that the seconds are driver by the 1 Hz pulse?
Keep up the good work!

Build a kit out of this and I'll be your first buyer.

Bellissimo, ne costruii uno con le nixie tanto tempo fa, progetto di orologio con nixie di Nuova Elettronica.
Complimenti
per caso si può avere il circuito elettrico?

Very AWESOME! Not only a great time piece but a work of art too. Do you have some high quality stills taken and posted some where and a schematic?

Hi, Unfortunately my camera has trouble focussing on it so I can't get a decent photo. I haven't drawn the circuit yet, but I will do one day

What type of neon did you use and where did you get them all?
Myke1576 2 years ago
Hi Myke, They're IN-3's and I got 200 of then from Ebay.

Ah. Thanks.

Speechless, really great job in assembling this!

Excellent - Where can I order the kit? Or at least a parts/assembly guide.

Hi, There is no kit, I made it myself.
