Ordet "elite" er som mange andre engelske ord blevet "fordansket" og har efterhånden fået den forkerte betydning i det danske sprog. Elite uddannelse burde betyde, træning til indsættelse af små taktiske enheder bag fjendens linier, som skal operere uafhængigt af egne enheder i lange perioder.
At de danske soldater kan anvendes i små taktiske enheder er fordi vores militær doktrin delvist bygger på små enheder og deres taktiske operationer. At mange elementer fra Elite soldaters uddannelse idag indgår som undervisning for en almindelig soldat er simpelthen fordi de først blev udviklet og anvendt i praksis af elitesoldater (fra hele verden), så i bund og grund får alle soldater i verden "elite" træning hvis man skal sætte det på en spids.

Perhaps they are, but I still fail to see why Danes in particular. Ar those troops UN forces? No. Nato? probably. I'm just glad that Finland never joined Nato, we would be getting coffins home from a war we had nothing to do in the first place. Saying you are there to protect the new Free Afghanistan sounds high and mighty and quite nice, but it isn't reality.
So you think it dishonorable for a soldier to do his job every day knowing he might die just by getting into his car? That is naive. You of all people should respect a soldier. A lot of soldiers gave their lives some sixty years ago so you'd be able to speak freely today.

We support the troops because they are helping the Afghan people with a better future through security: free elections, democracy, equality between women and men, things like the right to go to school, to voice your opinion etc. Things like that. Yes we are very proud of the work they do because the pay the ultimate sacrifice. It's not easy with a corrupt government, opium trade, and NATO "allies" that will not risk having their troops killed. But we keep on supporting our troops!
you may be able to secure most of the objectives, but in a country like Afghanistan there will never be true equality between men and women as seen in west. Just look at Iraq. Sure it's more or less liberated and they have a democratic government and all that, but women still walk around wearing that.. what ever it's called, and they are _not_ equal. You may be able to change politics, but when it comes to religion and hundreds, thousands of years of history, that cannot be altered.. easily.
Even in a country like Afghanistan where things are really bad, things have alredy changed alot. One of the major problems there, is that US and NATO do not have eough troops to get the job done. Thats why there are security problems. And thats why the allies pull out of the country before the afghan people can secure their cities and villages. Equality don't happen over night, but thats up to the people to implement. We can give them that opportunity by removing the Taliban and Al qaeda.
First of all I'm not a fan of US foreign policy because it is too aggressive.
It is a complex situation in Afghanistan and to say that there is an easy solution to all of the problems in the country would be naive, but since Al qaeda and the Taliban worked together, they had to be stopped by force. Al qaeda were responsible for 9/11 and the Madrid bombings. International terrorism is a global threat (including Denmark).
Scandinavian countries support the US war on terror. It is said Norwegian gov. was one of the strongest supporters. 590 Norwegians are serving in the ISAF force. So we Norwegians are helping out ;) We also have MJK who were awarded the "United States Navy Presidential Unit Citation."

But when you know English AND German, it should be easy for you to learn Danish - lots of similar words in common with both - or with one of them at least - and a very similar basic grammar to that of English. Not nearly as complicated as German grammar *LOL*
A lot of the grammar and basic words are very similar between D. and E., and E. has even early on adopted many such basic words from Old Danish / Norse.
Many languages are MUCH harder to learn than D. Try Chinese (Pron.), Greenlandic ( pron. + gram.), Spanish

Scandinavian countries support the US war on terror. It is said Norwegian gov. was one of the strongest supporters. 590 Norwegians are serving in the ISAF force. So we Norwegians are helping out ;) We also have MJK who were awarded the "United States Navy Presidential Unit Citation."

you sit up in the northen afghanistan (i think) and if you are lucky you get in to compat what 1 time a day.
We in afghanistan af to go in to compat up to 3-5 times a day
and we were in iraq and afghanistan at the same time and gave 1200 soldiers minimum pr. 6 month
we lost 21 soldiers last year
and this year so far, 9-12 soldiers i dont count because it is depresing

@ElvenDane Du glemmer at den styrke som tog de fleste tæsk af den tyske værnemagt og som gjorde det meste af arbejdet med at slå dem tilbage, og derefter helt ned var russerne. Til trods for deres talrige fejl og Stalins ignorance så var det unægteligt dem der tærede værnemagten til sammenbruddets rand, men så kom amerikanerne og tog hele æren.

It may be hard to learn for people from certain language groups, but the grammar is definitely NOT the reason.
The reason is usually our pronounctiation and glotal stops.
D. grammar is far simpler than those of many other languages. Eg. we don't have
determinate articles that vary according to case, number and gender, and verbs are the same for all grammatical persons, both plural and singular.
People who speak E are usually able to pick up D. rel. quickly because of the common roots.

A lot of the grammar and basic words are very similar between D. and E., and E. has even early on adopted many such basic words from Old Danish / Norse.
Many languages are MUCH harder to learn than D. Try Chinese (Pron.), Greenlandic ( pron. + gram.), Spanish
( complex grammar + "inifinte" number of verb variations), Basque, Hungarian
(35 cases !) or Vietnamese.
