Calgary played a tremendous series. They ran out of gas in the finals after going another 7 games agaist St lous isn the cambell conference championships

One of the most memorable plays in Stanley Cup history. If this didn't happen, the Oilers could have won 5 cups in a row.
The Flames were heavy underdogs but Bob Johnson had them well prepared for this series. The timing of this play was impeccable.
A year later, when Gretzky was handed the Stanley Cup at center ice, he immediately handed the cup to Steve Smith.
