You're right...the class fairy got dorm rooms and magically made class schedules appear even though the students never signed up for classes and never enrolled until the Thursday after signing day.
You are correct about one thing...it was stupid of Coach O to call. No one ever accused him of being a rocket scientist, though.
Interesting statement at the end. "Says they may hire us Wednesday, I'll fly out there Tuesday."
So he really was in LA when he was calling the recruits already enrolled in Tennessee. Someone should forward this to the NCAA.
Makes you wonder when the NCAA is weeks away from announcing USC's sanctions why USC would hire the coaches that got them in trouble in the first place instead of bringing in folks with a clean reputation.
They weren't already enrolled, You couldn't enroll until early enroll until the Thursday after signing day. Jesus does anyone know anything about NCAA rules. None of the students had signed anything yet, it might have been unethical on his part but all is fair in football and recruiting.
What you didn't hear on ESPN is the other 8 SEC coaches that were also calling the "already set to enroll" Vols, you don't have any gripe with them though right its ok for them to do it.
EEs are high school or JUCO kids that graduate early, enroll in January and go to class so they can be in spring practice. Obviously, you have to enroll before signing day in February or you'd miss the first month of classes. What you can't do until signing day is sign an LOI. NCAA transfer rules kick in upon enrollment, not signing of the LOI. They had enrolled, you are wrong they didn't sign anything.
I see why USC is in so much trouble..nobody out there knows a thing about recruiting.
Actually get your facts straight....Tyler Bray, Matt Milton and Channing Fugate are the players in question... who were NOT yet enrolled at Tennessee. They were set to get on campus that Thursday. By the way read what i said, better yet i'll say it again in quotes "None of the students signed anything" They broke no rules... Charlie Strong did the same thing when he left UF is he in trouble absolutely not because its not against the rules. The media just wants you feel sorry for UT
What you said was players aren't allowed to enroll until a month after classes start which is wrong and stupid. Now you are saying he only called three players. Actually, he called in a meeting and it was 8 early enrollees on speaker. All had enrolled. Most, including Miller and James, were alredy moved into their dorm and had participated in bowl practice.
I hope we Vol fans didn't sound this desperate when we were blindly defending this crew.
You're terribly misinformed WHY in gods name would they call players already in enrolled!? that's a complete waste of time! the players they called were not enrolled, what idiot would even consider leaving a school they had enrolled and not even yet fought for a position to leave and sit out for a year and go else where. A coach wouldn't waste his time doing and neither would a player.
Not to mention not even the case of what they did, they called players set to enroll which is not against the rules; for example Kyle Praters things were in LA the saturday of the army bowl game he was set to enroll pete carroll left, Coaches began blowing up his Praters phone who was getting a direct flight from texas to LA after the game. Same rules just unethical.
haha wow does LA have some douchbags or what........nice laugh btw camera guy....i think thats the laugh of someone who knows his alma matar is fucked
