everyone said squier are crap, ibanez better than squier but you know what i said ? fuck it ! it sounds very good and sometimes it sound better frm my friend ibanez guitar . i love my squier and i proud of it !
I bought one of these for a relative, it sounded so good that I ended up buying one for myself(the daphne blue. looks more aqua marine though =) and it sounds really good for a cheap guitar. only 119.00 and free shipping and no tax as it was bought out of state. haha f u cali taxes.
and I play fun 80s type hardcore-punk//beach stuff.
the strings never go out of tune unless i set the guitar against a dressor or the silver knobs get moved and I play pretty fast crunchy stuff sometimes.
When I bought my guitar, I could not say if it was an affinity, bullet, classic vibe. All mine said it was an SE Specail Stratocaster Squire. But there is not pic for it on YouTube. Your guitar looks an awful lot like mine.
The guitar does sound awful what's everyone talking about? Don't you hear that muffled sound on the neck pickup? It's cool if you own one and want to defend it but they just aren't good. You my friend on the other hand do sound good.
i agree ...some limitations ....but overall -fantastic for the price ...i have standard sg 1989 - and as good as it is ....i prefer playing the cheap squier . Sound is a combination of amp , hands and guitar anyway .
@maximatonik actually fender owns squier and manufactures them. and if you meant you can't play guitar and make it sound like crap, then I agree with your statement.
I used to think squier were pretty nasty guitars and to be fair the one I had as a kid was, but I played a few 5 months ago because I was told they were better these days. I ended up buying a Deluxe, I might go back for a CV.
I was going to get a electric or an acoustic electric guitar and wasn't sure If i should get the Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Single Cut Electric Guitar from guitar center or the Squier Bullet Strat with Tremolo from music and arts. they are both $119.99 and do not come with amps. So which one? they both look nice. Another thing i, I need an amp and was thinking of the fender frontman 15g or 10g, are there any better ones? for 70$?
@timothyga01 Definitely go for the squier bullet. That epihone single cut guitar is trash. I've played a few of them, don't go near them. You'll be much happier with the squier strat. for an amp, why dont you wait a little bit and save up for the fender frontman 25r, buch better than the 15g, and louder if you ever need it :)
@ThankGodForCountry yeah umm So my budget is about 200-250 range so I was going to get the squier strat bullet and the frontman 25r so that's already $220 without tax. I need the 10ft. cable for the amp, effects, and other stuff like string cleaners and all that. The last thing I need is a capo, So what effects do I need? and how much will they cost? I might get a higherbudget, but It depends if my g-mom gives me cash. I also need a guitar case! How much is the est price for this stuff?
I have many guitars a les paul four strats an amercian made, a mexican roadhouse and a bullet and I LOVE my bullet 3tone sunburst looks great plays great
sorry but your good enough to not have the squier version. anyone who's gotten beyond basic scales doesn't deserve that piece of shit, at least get a mexican. Squier is a joke of a guitar.
@ThankGodForCountry actualy the quality of them sucks in comparison to older strats(i have played on many guitars such as an ibanezS7420, fender squire2 from 1989, several deans, several lespauls, a few epiphones, and I must say the bullet is decent for the money but its still not as good as previous strats)
Also your right that the player truely makes the difference of how good stuff sounds, but better guitars can play better stuff(you dont have 7 strings with a bullet strat for example)
@RandallDavidson You are so right. But those two brands, USA and European made are worth all the money we have. Quality beyond reproach. I'll be saving money to have one of their branded guitar on my hand. I'm gonna try some cheaper copy too, in case some friends insistently want to borrow.
wish people didn't waste their money on squiers but got Yamaha 112V. It's true that they are 150 bucks more than the squier but craftmanship and sound equals american strat and by playablility they bypass it! Some poeple have good squiers by chance because the quality isn't a constant there--it fluctuates from item to item.
@ThankGodForCountry how do you play guitar licks like that? i feel like your index finger doesn't move but your ring finger does all the moving... it looks so fast and easy, but i dont get how they are doing it..
@iHacksorzz well yeah you don't want to just ,ove your index finger around on the neck, try to use all your fingers and your index kind of does stay there to fall back do and to vibrato, hammerons and pull offs.
@iHacksorzz no don't bar the whole fret, your index finger is kind of a starting end point for lick, not always but a lot, for something like in this video i only cover 1 or 2 strings with my index
Buy high quality USA or European made guitar, when you get home and found out its defects and imperfections, you'll get terribly disappointed. You threw away huge amount of money.
Buy cheap and crappy Chinese made guitars, when you get home and found out how crappy and trashy it was, you'll never need to be disappointed because you were already disappointed the moment you left the store's door. You threw away less amount of money.
i've buy my squier strat sss in 2009 and i realize today how it's a wonderful guitar ... i've buy the squier 125 € with the amp .... in september i'll gonna buy a gibson raw power (white) i'll gonna see if the price make the guitar ...but i think no .... : p
That ones a bullet? Mine is the Squire Strat by Fender, but it looks exactly like yours.
I'd like to get a Squire Standard edition with the matching fretboard and neck. I hate the two toned fretboard and neck thing going on. It looks way better with one type of wood.
It's a cool guitar but I don't like the sound. My friend has one and it sounds pretty bad, I don't know if it's becuase of the amp, which is a Fender one, or the guitar itself.
@ps3fanforever Fender amps, well the cheaper models, tend to have too much feedback in the distorted channels. I have a squier strat with a Behringer GMX210...It sounds very nice. Ive had it for years, and have had no problems with it, just the occasional broken top string.
@ps3fanforever I've found that Squires have to be judged on a case by case scenario, which is why I'd never buy one online. Oftentimes, with cheaper guitars, you have to try it out first, because the quality control is not going to be as good as on a Gibson or Fender.

hey i am wondering which should i spend money on a 300-350 dollar guitar or 300-350 dollar amp my guitar right now is a yamaha eg 112 and my amp is a crate dfx-15
@ajaydatindiekid96 I think that guitar sounds fine. and I've played through that same crate amp, its okay... but if you want to get a better sound, definitely get a 300-350 dollar amp. check out fender, and epiphone for some small great sounding tube amps
@stiskavac well you could plug the guitar into your microphone or line in input on the back of your computer and it would come out through your pc speakers yes. you would need a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter, but you cant plug them straight into the speakers, the "hole" you mention is probably a headphone out
@ThankGodForCountry yes its for the headphones...but if I buy an adapter for the guitar cabel that matches the headphones out i would be able to use the speakers right?
@stiskavac you mean if you plug a cable from you guitar jack into the headphone plug on your speakers? no that won't work, because the cable sends the signal out from your guitar and nothing will go into that jack, only out. but maybe im misunderstanding what it is, get an adapter and try it.
@ThankGodForCountry sadly, these guitars are for playing with a very low distortion level, meaning that if you wanna play metal, you're pretty f*ed up. I play it with everything at normal and it sounds good, but I want it to sound violent and aggressive without such a dirty feedback.
I just bought one of these...outstanding! Stays in tune as well as any thing, the neck is maple, a hardwood, there is no stripe in back of neck, it has a rosewood fret brd, so that the fretboard was glued in place after the truss rod was put in I had to file the tips of the fret's down becouse they seemed to stick out a bit [not good]. I run mine through a Gibson scout bought new in 65, incredable amp!
@switch0123 Well, if you do it yourself, with no experience, it's a recipe for disaster.
But you can have it done at a local guitar shop, or you can try a few other things.
You can buy locking TUNERS, which are a lot easier to install, and take care of some of the problem. Also you should take your guitar in and ask to have it "Set up".
That takes care of some of the problem too. But all in all, that kind of trem bar is notorious for throwing guitars out of tune.
Lubricate the guitar nut. You can carefully place a a few drops of 3-in-oil, WD40, or some other type of similar lubricant on the guitar nut slots where the strings pass through. Some folks use petroleum jelly (again a very small amount) instead of 3-in1 oil and still others sometimes crush pencil lead and work that into the nut but that's very messy. Whichever you choose to use, always use as little as possible.
@switch0123 --You need to set up the guitar for the strings that you are using. The set up involves adjusting the bridge for each string for height and length. The purpose is to have each string in tune when played open and at the octave. If you have a decent tuner you can just plug the guitar in and tune the open string and then check the tuning on the 12th fret. Adjust the bridge (string length) until they open and 12th fret are both in tune. It is a pain but the results are worth while.
i was really deciding whether to get a squier or not. i would get a fender strat but i dont have the money and these are pretty much in my price range. but i think i will have to get one, since you made it sound REALLY good. but how good are they for the long run?
hey I've had the squier in this video for about a year and a half, it sounds great, stays in tune, plays nice. get one man. 100 bucks, you cant go wrong, go to your guitar center or wherever and try several out and find the best one. just take care of it and it will be a great guitar.
i have a squier strat in black and white but it has fret buzz after around 3 months of use, any help? I sent it in to Sam Ash but they just changed the strings and not the main problem :(
I was thinking of also buying this guitar, and this video convinced me to also get one :D i'm getting it next week. It just sounds beautiful! and dude you can play very good! what song is it?
my squier doesnt sound anywhere near that good =P well, I probably shouldve taken better care of it. I wanted to get it set up, but i dont think its worth it for a guitar thats worth less than 150 bucks
it''s just that every time i walk into sam ash i hear the same thing by a bunch of fevered egos trying to show off. anyway, how's the action on this? close? and do you have to use metal strings on it? they hurt my fingers!
everyone said squier are crap, ibanez better than squier but you know what i said ? fuck it ! it sounds very good and sometimes it sound better frm my friend ibanez guitar . i love my squier and i proud of it !

@stiskavac well you could plug the guitar into your microphone or line in input on the back of your computer and it would come out through your pc speakers yes. you would need a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter, but you cant plug them straight into the speakers, the "hole" you mention is probably a headphone out
ThankGodForCountry 1 year ago
@ThankGodForCountry yes its for the headphones...but if I buy an adapter for the guitar cabel that matches the headphones out i would be able to use the speakers right?
stiskavac 1 year ago
@stiskavac you mean if you plug a cable from you guitar jack into the headphone plug on your speakers? no that won't work, because the cable sends the signal out from your guitar and nothing will go into that jack, only out. but maybe im misunderstanding what it is, get an adapter and try it.

stefanKSh 1 year ago
love squier, my first guitar was a squier and ive been using it ever since, ive yet to find ANYTHING that plays as well as it does.
jackassunit22 1 year ago
squiers are good in all but wudnt you rather have liike a american strat, or just a plane stratocastor
jameDmeLody2998 1 year ago
@jameDmeLody2998 well sure but american strats cost one thousand dollars, these cost 100, and a lot of the times you can get the same sounds.

@ThankGodForCountry just like gibson and epiphone, same stuff ,different names. squier and fender same stuff, diffrent names!
RockinRollBand09 1 year ago
@ThankGodForCountry sadly, these guitars are for playing with a very low distortion level, meaning that if you wanna play metal, you're pretty f*ed up. I play it with everything at normal and it sounds good, but I want it to sound violent and aggressive without such a dirty feedback.

Sounds great! How much?
Zeddy100 1 year ago
I just bought one of these...outstanding! Stays in tune as well as any thing, the neck is maple, a hardwood, there is no stripe in back of neck, it has a rosewood fret brd, so that the fretboard was glued in place after the truss rod was put in I had to file the tips of the fret's down becouse they seemed to stick out a bit [not good]. I run mine through a Gibson scout bought new in 65, incredable amp!

mat876 1 year ago
@switch0123 You could always buy a locking nut.
Johnnnybgoode 1 year ago
@Johnnnybgoode yeah ,, but isnt that complicated to equiped?
switch0123 1 year ago
@switch0123 Well, if you do it yourself, with no experience, it's a recipe for disaster.
But you can have it done at a local guitar shop, or you can try a few other things.
You can buy locking TUNERS, which are a lot easier to install, and take care of some of the problem. Also you should take your guitar in and ask to have it "Set up".
That takes care of some of the problem too. But all in all, that kind of trem bar is notorious for throwing guitars out of tune.
Johnnnybgoode 1 year ago
@switch0123 PS, you could also try putting pencil lead in the string slots on the nut. Not sure it would do a whole lot though.
Johnnnybgoode 1 year ago
@switch0123 get a rolling nut like jeff beck has on his I don't know how expensive they are but work for jeff.
nintendonut100 1 year ago
Lubricate the guitar nut. You can carefully place a a few drops of 3-in-oil, WD40, or some other type of similar lubricant on the guitar nut slots where the strings pass through. Some folks use petroleum jelly (again a very small amount) instead of 3-in1 oil and still others sometimes crush pencil lead and work that into the nut but that's very messy. Whichever you choose to use, always use as little as possible.

@switch0123 please check out video by Frudua how to setup vintage tremolo
SteelyGlow 1 year ago
@switch0123 --You need to set up the guitar for the strings that you are using. The set up involves adjusting the bridge for each string for height and length. The purpose is to have each string in tune when played open and at the octave. If you have a decent tuner you can just plug the guitar in and tune the open string and then check the tuning on the 12th fret. Adjust the bridge (string length) until they open and 12th fret are both in tune. It is a pain but the results are worth while.

i was really deciding whether to get a squier or not. i would get a fender strat but i dont have the money and these are pretty much in my price range. but i think i will have to get one, since you made it sound REALLY good. but how good are they for the long run?
mezol1zee 1 year ago
hey I've had the squier in this video for about a year and a half, it sounds great, stays in tune, plays nice. get one man. 100 bucks, you cant go wrong, go to your guitar center or wherever and try several out and find the best one. just take care of it and it will be a great guitar.

it''s just that every time i walk into sam ash i hear the same thing by a bunch of fevered egos trying to show off. anyway, how's the action on this? close? and do you have to use metal strings on it? they hurt my fingers!
