  • good video, but I would recommend loosening the nut while the bike is still on the ground before raising it. especially for those of us that use centerstands or other types of bike lifts.

  • Nice presentation

  • I trust this video more because an Asian is speaking.

  • alright! THANKS A LOT MAN for saving me like $20 or $30

  • Jay awesome Video ... i actually change my tire and save me alot of money any other video dat can help me with my 05 gsxr600?

  • thanks for this. Need to remove my rear since I got a massive bolt in my rear tire.

  • This guy is a nutter!

  • I break my nut loose everyday.

  • that was easy

  • Do you have or could recommend a video on removing the rear wheel on a shaft driven bike? I have an 85 Yamaha Maxim 700 & can't seem to find any service manuals for it. Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks for posting this video Jay. It, too gave me enough confidence to take off my skirt and remove my own wheel. I now feel I have a much closer relationship with my bike now.

  • great vid - just one question, why bother to remove the brake caliper? will the brake disc(rotor) not slide out with the caliper still bolted in place? many thanks

  • @mattpone

removing the caliper(s) will help you tremendously on the re-installation of the wheel, and afford you opportunity to inspect brakes.

on the take off..the caliper is of no issue. when you're trying to reinstall the wheel is where it becomes an obstacle. removing the caliper allows the re installation of the wheels (axle) to go easy and then you can easily maneuver the caliper back on over the rotor. it's 2 simple bolts that will make the whole process so much smoother for a novice.

  • Great video. Thanks.

  • 1:33 "a big one a 'fairy' big one", that's what she said.

  • good stuff, top job, well presented...

  • Awesome attention to detail. But this guy looks like Mr Chow from The Hangover. "You Gonna Fuck On Me?"

  • @magicluis145 NO! NOBODYS GONNA FUCK ON YOU! I HATE GODZILLA, I HATE HIM TOO! "throws crowbar into face" GAH JESUS!

  • great videos!

  • Wow looked so easy!!! But thanks for the tips!!

  • my goodness how many of these vid's dont cover the essential tip's .

the vid is good yet lacking. it is of upmost importance to remove the brake caliper first &. tie wrap it away from the wheel. it will make your reinstall sooo much easier.

for tech questions..facebook search "motorcycle atv wheel service greece ny". i am always happy to answer tech questions and provide help for the do it yourselfers.

  • @gioelite68

  • awesome vid. this gave me the confidence to go and remove my own wheel

  • Good video. When you take off the rear wheel, are there any bolts that hold the rear brake caliper in place that need to be removed because I thought there were?

  • Thanks hella-lot - worked like a charm brother. DIY saves tons of money when you ride a lot.

  • thanks mate. i'm going to take mine off right now. i've got a flat and can't ride the bike to the shop. I don't have a trailer either.

  • That was very well done. Bravo. One quick question. The chain adjusters and brake calipers have to be loosened before anything else here is done?

  • I thought it was harder than that, Thanks. . .

  • thank you very much... i come out to the garage today and my bike is sittin low on the rim! doh! So thank you for the tutorial... how hard do you have to crank it down when tightening the axle nut?

  • Great video. Nicely produced.

  • I hope that helps some people out.

  • Nice video. I just did this a few days ago for the first time and followed pretty much this exact procedure (really the only way to do it). That's a good idea on using an empty pipe to use as a breaker bar. I had to muscle it because my ratchet is too small.
