The problem with science is that it clings rigidly to testible imperical evidence.It views patterns as corrolation but not causal.Human consciousness does not develope in a lab.The fact every culture in recorded history and beyond has been in someway spiritual up to now must count for something.The dogma, doctrines, priests & laws are the crusts which develope conflict.The spiritual cores of all of them reside in harmony.When science and spirituality understand one another we evolve!
@MrLittletomdj Hello sir or mam. I believe you have made a few errors in your post. There are cultures that have no supernatural beliefs. Though I've heard many similar claims about the "harmony of spiritual cores," I've never seen anyone justify that claim or define the terms. We have a good understanding of the physiology of consciousness and it can be studied in a lab.
It comes off a little ignorant to make such dramatic claims before doing any reading or research to back those claims up.

I'm also not totally sure what you mean that every culture has been spiritual. There doesn't seem to be any one belief that that is common to even the limited number of religions with which I'm familiar. My point is only that it's important to really evaluate claims before you make them.

But with a quick check on google I found "they do believe in spirits that can sometimes take on the shape of things in the environment." 7 "Xigagaí, one of the beings that lives above the clouds". This is similar to early indian faiths, Aboriginal beliefs, tribal african faiths etc. It's tricky to try and explain. Religions have become more monotheistic. The collective spirits of nature being replaced with the driving force behind them.
@MrLittletomdj The Piraha tribe has a culture of empiricism. They are quite dissimilar from Native American tribes as they have no legends and no history at all. They are "concerned solely with matters that fall within direct personal experience" (from the Wiki article). Their language even revolves around this. I have strong doubts that the Pirahas actually have any beliefs in unobservable spirits.

Ever heard of the theory of gravity, or cells, or tectonic plate movement? Those too are theories because as time has shown there is always more to be learned in that field (ie from newton to einstein) which is why there is the place holder of "theory".

The Church is always where it isn't supposed to be. For instance, Mutual agreement is not recognize as a divorce cause by the supreme court only beucase of religious groups; since the church can't get marriage to "constututional rank" by lack of jurisdiction they threat legislators into not voting for them if they add mutual agreement as a civil procedure. I find your video a little inconsistent/underdeveloped. For just one example, you state that religion restricts freedom and atheism clearly does not. Atheism says nothing about political law, ethics, or who we are. It simply takes the linear implications of there being a creator and eliminates them. Nothing more. It makes no other action. You are instead relying on your cultural attitudes, not atheism to make these judgments contained in the first minute or so of your video.
I also invite all you atheists to listen to Mary K. Baxter's "A Divine Revelation Of Hell" as well as watch Bill Weiss's "23 Minutes In Hell" presentation here on YouTube. The both of them were actually taken to Hell by The Lord on two separate occasions & came back to recount their experiences while they were there. The paper you got from the satanist did its purpose as a curse. It may not have done anything like physical damage or to the mind but that curse made you separate from God. Maybe its that curse that made you start heading down the atheist road and damage your relationship with God.

Not at all, I always felt like this, I never had the guts to stand up and tell the world. I did tell you that I am not 100% atheist, I do believe in God but not in a human form. Whatever is responsible for life on earth is my god, whether it is a rock, light rays, wind whatever IT is. And I see this god in my pets, close friends and in nature.
To me nature is just as indescribable as having a imaginary friend. I believe that god is seen as a person by everyone because it makes them easier for them to understand and to relate to this describable thing that made life. Even though I don't believe in heaven and hell, I still walk the straight path. If I want to I can be VERY VERY... VERY rich, but then I will loose my dignity which is priceless. I still respect christian views, I just don't like it when Christians force religion onto me.

Though I've heard many similar claims about the "harmony of spiritual cores," I've never seen anyone justify that claim or define the terms. We have a good understanding of the physiology of consciousness and it can be studied in a lab.
It comes off a little ignorant to make such dramatic claims before doing any reading or research to back those claims up.

I'm also not totally sure what you mean that every culture has been spiritual. There doesn't seem to be any one belief that that is common to even the limited number of religions with which I'm familiar. My point is only that it's important to really evaluate claims before you make them.

But with a quick check on google I found "they do believe in spirits that can sometimes take on the shape of things in the environment." 7 "Xigagaí, one of the beings that lives above the clouds". This is similar to early indian faiths, Aboriginal beliefs, tribal african faiths etc. It's tricky to try and explain. Religions have become more monotheistic. The collective spirits of nature being replaced with the driving force behind them.

They are "concerned solely with matters that fall within direct personal experience" (from the Wiki article). Their language even revolves around this. I have strong doubts that the Pirahas actually have any beliefs in unobservable spirits.

Ever heard of the theory of gravity, or cells, or tectonic plate movement? Those too are theories because as time has shown there is always more to be learned in that field (ie from newton to einstein) which is why there is the place holder of "theory".

The Church is always where it isn't supposed to be. For instance, Mutual agreement is not recognize as a divorce cause by the supreme court only beucase of religious groups; since the church can't get marriage to "constututional rank" by lack of jurisdiction they threat legislators into not voting for them if they add mutual agreement as a civil procedure. Now that's a real "rat move" from the church if you ask me, to me that's an attack and a disrespect to what is supposed to be jurisprudence.

I find your video a little inconsistent/underdeveloped. For just one example, you state that religion restricts freedom and atheism clearly does not. Atheism says nothing about political law, ethics, or who we are. It simply takes the linear implications of there being a creator and eliminates them. Nothing more. It makes no other action. I also invite all you atheists to listen to Mary K. Baxter's "A Divine Revelation Of Hell" as well as watch Bill Weiss's "23 Minutes In Hell" presentation here on YouTube. The both of them were actually taken to Hell by The Lord on two separate occasions & came back to recount their experiences while they were there. Mary also subsequently was taken up to Heaven for 10 nights afterwards & shown around, & she describes both Heaven & Hell in vivid detail! So Google it, if you dare!

Very interesting commentary! What is worth mentioning is that people who believe (any deity) are often much more destructive, even immoral, than people who don't believe (atheists and skeptics). The flip side of the coin is that people who believe have also done a lot more good deeds than people who don't believe. mother Teresa did more good for humanity than any atheist. perhaps the conclusion is that people who believe live fuller.

Religion in general was and always will be a way to explain the unknown, and hypocritically changes as public's views change. Take the Ancient Greeks for example, they had a god for anything they didn't understand. They had a god for lightning for human hate and distrust, etc. etc. And once they figured out that these things were simply natural phenomena guess what happened to the religion? It disappeared. The same goes for Catholicism. The Catholic church used to burn heretics alive.

Most churches fail to teach whats most important in the Bible. I could give you more of answer if you could tell me what church group you belonged with. if you know it would help me get a more clear understanding.
most churches tend to stray from what God wants out of people.
my guess is that your church mostly focus on the afterlife and how to get there. for example do evil go burn in hell or do good to enter heaven.

I try not to be too religious here but have you ever considered the following.
The paper you got from the satanist did its purpose as a curse. It may not have done anything like physical damage or to the mind but that curse made you separate from God. Maybe its that curse that made you start heading down the atheist road and damage your relationship with God.

Not at all, I always felt like this, I never had the guts to stand up and tell the world. I did tell you that I am not 100% atheist, I do believe in God but not in a human form. Whatever is responsible for life on earth is my god, whether it is a rock, light rays, wind whatever IT is. And I see this god in my pets, close friends and in nature.

To me nature is just as indescribable as having a imaginary friend. I believe that god is seen as a person by everyone because it makes them easier for them to understand and to relate to this describable thing that made life. Even though I don't believe in heaven and hell, I still walk the straight path. If I want to I can be VERY VERY... VERY rich, but then I will loose my dignity which is priceless. I still respect christian views, I just don't like it when Christians force religion onto me.

1. No independent evidence that jesus existed.
2.Christiainty did not not replace roman/greek gods because of poor people, but as is in most cases, Scholars and powerful people in history.
