The first verse and chorus is the perspective of the devil (aka his personal demons) hence "reunite this sick romance". The second verse is Deryck himself trying to distance himself from this demon "nullify this sick romance." Also, I didn't know that thing about the Devil's Chord, that's pretty awesome!
