As far as I studied (Degree in Ind. Philosophy), Sanskrit is an old language, and Vedas were written in that language. It is not a HINDU language.
It would be like saying Arabic is islamic (even Buddhism used Sanskrit and will you call it HINDU?).
A learned person should know that Sanskrit is not a Hindu language, but a language used in Ancient Indian culture..and it has nothing to do with the British or Jews or Missionaries.

Interesting how the traditional chant has been made to conform to traditional Western musical ideas. The notes are the same as the ones used in Western music, whereas a traditional chant in India would sound... well... Indian!

@aparajith Indeed bro.... Dravidian language especially TAMIL is a different root other than SANSKRIT... Later many sanskrit words and phases came and integrated into TAMIL itself... LATER MALAYALLAM, TELUGU and KANADDA came to existence in the mixture of TAMIL and SANSKRIT....
INDO- DRAVIDIAN means SANSKRIT integrated with TAMIL...E.g MODERN TAMIL, KANADDA, MALAYALAM AND TELUGU....

@nericwilson You are absolutely right - 'Hindu' is/was a name used by arab/persian/afghan invaders of the Indian subcontinent, to denote the native inhabitants. The name 'Hindu' was subsequently utilized by the British and other Europeans.
Similarly, the name 'India' is also an exonym - a name first given by Greek invaders.

It seems that on the name of Vedic chants you people are fighting.
As far as I studied (Degree in Ind. Philosophy), Sanskrit is an old language, and Vedas were written in that language. It is not a HINDU language.
It would be like saying Arabic is islamic (even Buddhism used Sanskrit and will you call it HINDU?).
One should know that Sanskrit is not a Hindu language, but a language used in Ancient Indian culture...and it has nothing to do with mere religion.

Several schools of philosophy (including atheism or "caarvaaka darsana") existed in pre-Islamic India, all these were later collectively given an "ism". The Hindu itself never occurs in any Vedic text. Stop flaunting your degree and study the subject for once. And I hope my comment doesn't start a flame war here.

Rigveda the mother of all Vedas. The children have done an excellent job. For all those who aren't aware rigveda chanting is very different from chanting the other Vedas. The emphasis is on the last syllables of a stanza.
