real X-mas trees are actually a lot better for the environment than fake ones(even though we use fake ones) they are better because they are grown on not very fertile land and are raised for the use of being a X-mas tree. so yeah and they look a whole lot better too but a dead tree is kind of weird when you think about it.

No way. Real Christmas trees are grown on farms that create lots of oxygen all year, there are no forests being cut down for them. Once Christmas is over & the sad dead tree must be removed, it is compostable and most cities have tree recycling where the trees are chipped up into mulch for urban forests and parks. Had it been flocked it would have been bad. :)

@eleanorerigby But when the trees are cut down they release the carbon dioxide they absorbed back into the air. Plus, they have to be watered while the are growing, and most tree farms use pesticides/herbicides and fertilizer.

Actually, as many Nerdfighters are aware of, the 12 Days of Christmas start AFTER Christmas, the days between Christmas and the Ephiphany. Twelfth Night is January 5th, and Ephiphany starts on January 6th. Some believe that each "gift" is a type or bird, some believe the gifts are double entendre political statements, some attach religious significance to each, and some believe the writer(s) had just gotten drunk & wrote whatever took their fancy. well yeah, and its not that we have to cut everything out of our lives, it is that we all need to cut out a bit. Its a team effort, if everyone started doing little things to save the environment, then we would all be set. But its that most of society does nothing and then there are the few (like Hank) that have to do everything they can possibly think of to try and off balance the harm society is doing. Every little bit does count. Trees are not the easiest form to replace. It takes years upon years for a tree to reach its potential height. A small tree wont replace/create as much oxygen as a full grown tree. If everyone would simply switch to fake trees and reuse that tree every year just think of all the trees we would save. I know a woman whos had her fake tree for 35yrs. Thats 35 fully grown trees saved! now think of everyone doing that. One little thing really can make all the difference.
