I was right there in front of the TV when that first Midnight Special aired! Loved that show! I was so happy when VH-1 re-ran it in the 90's.

@hopediamond4real I'm right there with you. I remember looking forward to this show every week. When you are a teenager and not ready to go to bed at midnight especially on a weekend - there were no dvd players or vcrs or satellite/cable - so when the tv went off at midnight - you had to either read, listen to radio or go to sleep. Just totally loved this show - kids today don't know how good they've got it.
