Drift HD (or HD170) offers the same video quality, and looks much cooler when mounted to a lid! Amazon have the 'HD170 Stealth' for 125quid at the moment. The drift also has an LCD screen for lining up the cam, and a wrist mounted remote to save all the fumbling and the resulting editing.
@veletron Id say for video quality the difference between the two is barely existant. The big selling point of the GoPro (for me) is A) its size and B) the mounts. The mounts themselves are modular so effectively in terms of mounting the possibilities are endless and can be setup in minutes. I must admit the RRP is a bit much for what they are and the remote would be awfully handy. Hero 2 though is ahead of the game entirely (short of bolting a dslr onto your head lol)
go pro is fully the most uncool thing ever im sorry but you must admit you look like a total goof with one pole and a camera at the end of a stick "skiers against go pro"

@huckandhope how do you suggest people make films for you to watch and comment on then? sometimes you have to sacrifice cool points to get things done. i know people with cams on their helmets look like hi-tech teletubbies but pov footage is just as monotonous so a monopod is a necessary evil.
@huckandhope As said in descrription, when I filmed this it is was blowing a gale so couldnae be arsed faffin about with other mounts. And I do admit, they make you feel like you are showing off and can be quite embarrasing when you lose your balance. But a good GoPro movie is brilliant! This one for example: /watch?v=2w6RaSTKWUU&list=FLk6rqibfQysY_K9iPFFS39A&feature=mh_lolz
