That's way simplistic. The only way for panspermia to work is if an external entity contained cells or pre-biotic organic chemistry to give rise to eukarotes such as plants and animals. The idea that some comet spawned plants is ridiculous. Eukarotes need bacteria to survive.

This film was included in one of the early 'Minds Eye' videos. I remember seeing it in 1991. The video and work such as this, was quite literally the inspiration for me to make a career out of 3d animation.

I am still in the industry and loving it just as much as the day I saw this.

Amazing work even to this day in many regards.
