@Prod1Kh Alfred the Great lived from 849 until 899, so he was not an opponent of William of Normandy. What became the Duchy of Normandy didn't exist at that time, but came into being in 911 with the treaty of St Clair sur Epte, when the French king gave over the lower valley of the river Seine and the Pays de Caux to Rolf and his Vikings. Vikings(Norwegians and Danes), not Saxons.

Yes, really funny. And where was US troops when french army fight nazi army and retreat in 1940? And I remembered US soldiers in retreat in Vietnam. And you, do you remember american disaster in Vietnam or Somalie. Salutation from France.
@SIXITHS The Germans probably would have won the war in Europe. The Japanese also would have dominated the Pacific if hadn't have stopped them. The Allies were losing in Europe and Germany was continuing to expand it's Nazi reign. There was also no one trying to stop the Japanese.
@SIXITHS If US hadn't entered the war, Germany might have discovered and created the atomic bomb before anyone else, and then Hitler could have even attacked and conquered the United States. A lot of things could have and would have gone bad for the Allies and the world if we did not join World War II.
@unixoracle24 To talk about the american troops they took part to the first world war only 6 months before the end, when 1 million french had already been killed. The sole war which has been done by american on their ground was against indians and those were fighting with bows and arrows against gun, yet the indians managed to have great success against those stupid and criminal yankees. the second war was the civil war against your wn people,
@Heimrik01 if it wasnt for the "yankees" as u called us, u would've been invaded by the soviet union after ww2 and france and the rest of western europe would've become "soviet bloc countries"
@unixoracle24 I won't even speak about the liberation war against the Brits, cause that one was made and won by the french army on your own ground, do you remember ? Some guies called Montcalm and Lafayette ? If not, go back to school again and ask your teacher ...
@unixoracle24 Now let's talk about fighters, I mean real ones, the french ! Here is what the BBC said
about us :
-"There have been 53 major wars in Europe France had been a belligerent in 49 of them; UK 43. In 185 battles that France had fought over the past 800 years, their armies had won 132 times, lost 43 times and drawn only 10. Giving the French military the best record of any country in Europe".
@unixoracle24 Oh by the way, did I mention that the sole country which managed to invade Britain was France !
What ? You didn't know ? Guess what man ! I'm not talking bullshit, that happened really in history, Guillaume le Conqérant conquered Britain in 1066 (your country did not exist yet). and Britain has been a french colony of french dukes (not even french kings but dukes !) during several decades and has had french kings and queens for about 350 years.
@Heimrik01 Wrong. France has never successfully invaded Britain. William the Bastard/William the Conqueror was Duke of Normandy, not King of France. After he became King of England (not Britain) he owed no fealty to the King of France, yet he still retained his Norman Duchy. He, like most Norman nobles, and his opponent Alfred the Great, like English nobles at the time were descended from Saxons.
@Prod1Kh You forgott the house Plantagenêt d'Anjou...The french born kings of england end only with the rising from the Tudor house...But in this times, was the kingdom of France only the half from actual, same thing with England...And not forgott the "Auld Alliance" from1165 up to1903 between France,Scottland and Norway against England...
@oiseautempete Who were the Plantagenet kings descended from? Henry II (1st Plantagenet king)'s mother was Mathilda. Malthida's father was Henry I of England (and Normandy). Henry I's father was William the Bastard (also Conqueror, or I).
So, once again, the Plantagenet kings of England trace their lineage and crown back to Normandy and the Normans, not France.
Also, from Mathilda, they can trace their lineage back to the Saxon line of kings prior to Harold Godwinson.
France rule over Britannia wether you like it or not, your prince is the one Revelation 13 talks about look at his coat of arms ! Many britons descend from the tribe of Ruben, which gave the name Rubenite, Ben aï berites, Beritanniques and finally Britannique which is british in your soft language.
Whereas France descends from the tribe of Gad, they gave their name to Galilée and Galles and Gallice, and Gallicie and finally Gaulle our ancestors.
@Heimrik01 Hows about we stick to actual history and leave the heatstroke induced fever-dreams to where they belong.
Brythonic peoples include the Welsh, Cornish, Scottish and Irish, are you going to try and claim that because they walked across the English Channel when it was dry due to an ice-age that somehow they were all ruled by the French as well?
So as it is written into the Bible Deuteronomy 33,20-21 : "Gad lives there like a lion (The lion heart), tearing at arm or head. He chose the best land for himself (France); the leader's portion was kept for him. When the heads of thepeople assembled, he carried out the Lord's righteous will, and his judgments concerning Israel."
That's why France is the country of the human rights, the revolution, the liberty, equality, freedom, and so on ...
@Heimrik01 Oh, really? And here I thought it was because of the revolution, you know, the one which threw out the nobles and lese majeste and then killed tens of thousands of innocent French people.
Wanna tell me where the Committee for Publoic Safety comes in when you measure human rights?
Ignorant french people (real one) are a mix of Normand, Burgondes, Gaulois, Francs, Wisigoths.
Same as the brits are a mix of picts, welsh, Anglian, Saxon and also some vikings. So wether you like or not, Briain has been a french colony for about 3 centuries and a half. And one of its most famous king was french, I'm talking about "Richar Coeur de lion" "The lion heart in english" his father was Henri 2 Plantagenêst his mother was Alienor d'Aquitaine, Richar is burried in France
@Heimrik01 The Danish, Angle, Saxon, Viking and Norman blood in the UK makes up 4% of the gene pool.
Richard I was Henry II's son. Henry II's grandfather was Henry I. Henry I's father was William the Conqueror. A Norman. So, Richard I was the great-great-grandson of England's first Norman king.
For Britain to have been a French colony the French crown would have to have conquered England, Wales and Scotland. Never happened, but England has conquered huge tracts of France.
After several generation the Norman had become French they were mixed with the French local population more numerous . The Norman adopted the language of the French , they adopted the tradition of the French , the culture of the French , they also adopted the religion of the French and they adopted military tactics of the French . 1066 was French-Norman victory .
@jeffkodiac The Duke of Normandy was not a vassal of the King of France. Normandy did not owe allegiance or tribute/tax to Paris. Thus Normandy was not French, it was Norman.
Of course the duke of Normandy was the vassal of the king of France . What you say is a nonsense the Viking settled in France in the begining of the 9th century and Scotland was never been in England .
@jeffkodiac Right, that's why the King of France twice tried to invade Normandy and was twice defeated by William the Bastard. And why William's great-great-great grandfather, Rollo of Normandy, expanded the Norman lands through conquest, because he was a loyal vassal.
The Duke of Normandy did not give his allegiance to the King of France and the King of France did not invade England in 1066. The Duke of Normandy did.
The Normans were to Normandy what the Danes were to the Danelaw.
That's why William asked the help of his suzerain the King of France Henri 1er at the Battle of Vals les Dunes to defeat his ennemies , saying that if Norman barons attacking his vassal as they attacked the king of France.
You are wrong with the traité de Saint-Clair-sur-Epte 911 Rollo became the vassal of the king of France . Do you happen to read what I write, I never said that the King of France had invaded England, I say that Hastings was a French -Norman victory .
@jeffkodiac Rollo abrogated the treaty the moment that king died. Abrogation ran in the family.
It wasn't a French-Norman victory, it was a Norman victory. For it to have been French it would have to have been French-led. Thus, because the King of France didn't invade it wasn't a French victory, it was a Norman victory because the Duke of Normandy invaded.
The adaptability of the Scandinavian, always a marked characteristic of this people, nowhere showed itself more quickly. Readily adopting the ideas and customs of those among whom he came to live, the Norman had soon absorbed the most important elements of French civilization .In the eleventh century, at the time of the Norman Conquest, the civilization of Normandy was essentially French .

@unixoracle24 So the modern japanese troops were trained by french soldiers and NOT by americans the truth has to be taught for goodness sake ! So next time you want to talk about the french soldiers I would advise you to think twice or just to shut the fuck up !
@unixoracle24 Not only american troops liberated France, also french troops landed in southern France in 1944 coming back from Africa, so don't be so proud of yourself, besides, the americans tried to transform France into a french colony in 1945 and guy called de Gaulle kicked their ass. during their presence in Europe american GI s raped 3000 british women, 3500 french women and 11000 german women, are you also proud of that ?
