Hi all!

"Paraíba" is a brazilian song from a genre called "Forró" originated in North-East region in Brazil, where Forro culture is massive. History says that could came from 'For All', when american soldiers stayed in Brazil on 2nd War.

She was recorded originally in the early 50's by Luiz Gonzaga, the King of 'Baião', another genre similar to Forró.

Forro in the Dark is group of musicians that play Forro Music in NY, and have collaborations with David Byrne and Miho Hatori.

Loveforstarscream- Bjork is not afraid to try different things and push bondaries, maybe that's why you see similarities.

Check out Bjork's "Medulla" it is all vocal, no instruments. Some nice beat box. Her electronica is very good.

I know nothing about Björk or this kind of music, but it's a bit too strange for my taste, but we're all different. I was only comparing these two, because they to me sound alike (again; i know nothing about Miho's music style or Björk's).

I dont know where the lyrics come in here, i only talked about the music.

THis musical style has been around for decades. It's from NOrthern Brasil [forro]. I like Miho, she can cross borders and cultures with her musical expressions.

Okay, I didnt know about forro though. I think it's cool that she mixes different types of music and cultures, she plays music because she loves it, not to earn money. Still i dont really like her music, but as an artist, she's great and earns my respect. On the first Gorillaz album she did great, that was awsome! I love her voice though.
