I like Lou, but with the exception of the one by The Pretenders, this is the second worst renditions of this song that I've heard. In the middle, he seems to forget that there's an actual melody to the song, and he's all over the place. In a blind test, he'd get a bad grade from Simon on this one.

@stegokitty It sounds fine to me, the fact that he departs from the melody a bit is a part of the charm, in my opinion. I think that a singer with as much proven heft as Lou is entitled to a little interpretation. Merry Christmas.

@stegokitty What are you talking about?? he was never out of key...he lead at times from the dominant 9th..the 3rd of the key...and in the end he modulated.. I think your the one who cant recognize harmonic changes... not everything is abcdefg. Try playing jazz and then once you get an ear..comeback and read your post.
