I own one and its a pain in the ass, turn it on and 10 seconds later it goes out, then you have to constantly tap it to make it contact again. I would not buy another one, it worked perfectly for a couple of months before doing this, I was always careful with it.

This is not a short torch with 1 AA, it takes a 3v Li.Ion battery when in short mode.

Although the question is 9 months old, here's the answer; maybe someone still wants to know this:

The rubber clicky doesn't protrude, so yes, the C3 can tail stand - when you remove the string from the tail cap (otherwise the loop of string makes it stand wobbly).
