During the game i have never seen a celebration for a goaler having saved a penalty kick and therefore, he throws to ball back in the field in the middle of the game. I don't understand why no one got the ball and counter attackted while they were celebrating a penalty kick save.

You don't even have to be French to be stired by this at some level. You really feel the pride these people had in their nation that was occupied. If you see newsreels of them signing this after the liberation of Paris, I swear you can feel the electricity of that moment decades later. Some things transcend nationality. This is one of them.

Well in Europe we (used to) hate the US foreign policy, Bending the truth a little bit and creating some sort of conflict situation to boost domestic economy. Even in WWII the US wouldn't have come to Europe if Japan hadn't attacked Pearl Harbour. Again politics... But the brave men who fought over here, we'll always be grateful. Also there is a fundamental cultural difference where a lot of the differences come from: the two party politics. That just makes a whole different set of mind.

En 1918 la Pologne a ete reconstituee grace a une conjoncture internationale exceptionnellement favorable (chute simultanee des trois pays qui avaient partage la Pologne en fin du XVIIIe s.) et a la lutte armee de la nation sur toutes les frontieres. Cette Pologne a peine reconstituee, votre allie fidele, a ete trahie deux fois par la France : a Locarno en 1925 et puis en 1939. Malgre ca, en 1940 on comptait beaucoup sur vous et la defaite de la France etait aussi la notre.
En ce qui concerne lhistoire, je maintient mon opinion sur la France. Napoleon, sil a cree le Duche de Varsovie, cest pas pour nous rendre notre pays, mais pour obtenir un grand stock de chair a canon (il envoyait des Polonais la ou d'autres ne voulaient ou ne pouvait plus lutter), de nourriture et d'argent dont il avait besoin pour la campagne en Russie.

Le francais devient une langue de plus en plus exotique, le seul pays qui le parle serieusement cest la France. En Belgique, en Suisse et au Quebec le francais est le parler de la minorite. Les autres pays ne peuvent pas etre pris au serieux, car ce sont des pays africains de peu dimportance.
Sil sagit de la langue polonaise, personne na jamais affirme en Pologne quelle etait ou serait une langue internationale. Cest une langue locale et elle le sera toujours. Par contre, le francais etait cosidere comme la premiere langue de communication jusqua la Grande Guerre, et meme apres, surtout dans la diplomatie et la culture. Mais regarde ce qui se passe actuellement : ou quon aille, on ne peut se communiquer quen anglais.
Alors le guerre est arrive chez vous et vous avez perdu. 1945 c'etait en fait la fin de la France qui compte dans le monde. De Gaulle, le seul Francais digne d'etre respecte au XXeme siecle, vous a sauve un peu de grandeur de jadis, mais la chute est quand meme inevitable. Y de todas , creo q nadie me va a discutir q esta entoncacion de La Marseillaise en esta pelicula se la lleva por goleada. Escuchar este canto trasmite energia , se hierve la sangre, es un grito de lucha, de guerra, es intimidar al adversario. Sin necesidad de bombardas, de cornetas de papelitos picados. No hay como escuchar la voz de lucha de las masas para hacer sentirse.

You don't even have to be French to be stired by this at some level. You really feel the pride these people had in their nation that was occupied. If you see newsreels of them signing this after the liberation of Paris, I swear you can feel the electricity of that moment decades later. Some things transcend nationality. This is one of them.

A few observations....Half of the 1980 Ipswich Town team seem to be playing for the allied side whilst Michael Caine looks like he's swallowed a beach ball in the movie. On the evidence of this clip, Arsenal FC should sign Stallone as their No #1 Goalkeeper ASAP - despite pushing 60, even Mr. Wenger must admit - he'd be a better shot stopper than either Alumunia or that other Polish moron who looks like has hasn't slept properly for a week.

Well in Europe we (used to) hate the US foreign policy, Bending the truth a little bit and creating some sort of conflict situation to boost domestic economy. Even in WWII the US wouldn't have come to Europe if Japan hadn't attacked Pearl Harbour. Again politics... But the brave men who fought over here, we'll always be grateful. Also there is a fundamental cultural difference where a lot of the differences come from: the two party politics. That just makes a whole different set of mind.

I Was About 6-7yrs old when this scene was shut at the MTK VM Budapest stadium I remember my grandpa and grandma go every day for 15-18hrs for a month to work as extras they were so happy the'll see sir Pele and sir Michael Caine.Those days we didn't even know who Sly Stallone was.

Bien sur que dans le domaine les pays africains ne comptent pas du tout. Toutes les langues internationales, que ca soit le latin dans l'Antiquite, le francais au XVIII-XIXe siecle, ou l'anglais actuellement, devaient leur position privilegiee a la puissance economique, politique et militaire du/des pays d'origine. Et qu'est-ce que c'est l'Afrique aujourd'hui? Massacres, guerres, corruption, famine, coups d'etat, nepotisme. Vraiment impresionnant.

Ce que la France a fait en 1939 ou, plutot, ce qu'elle n'a pas fait, c'etait non seulement un acte de deloyaute, mais aussi une stupidite sans precedent. Les choses etaient claires alors, on ne pouvait plus parler d'un paix. Et vous, au lieu d'en finir une fois pour toutes avec les Boches en profitant de leur faiblesse sur le front de l'Ouest, vous preferiez attendre. Mais quoi?! Un miracle?! Paradoxalement, c'etaient les Hongrois qui se sont comportes le mieux en 1939. Malgre leur alliance avec Allemagne, ils ont refuse, pour des raisons morales(!!) de laisser le passage libre au hitleriens voulant attaquer la Pologne du territoire hongrois. En plus, Budapest a annonce que si les troupes allemands tentaient malgre tout de forcer ce passage, les Hongrois s'y opposeraient d'une facon armee.

En 1918 la Pologne a ete reconstituee grace a une conjoncture internationale exceptionnellement favorable (chute simultanee des trois pays qui avaient partage la Pologne en fin du XVIIIe s.) et a la lutte armee de la nation sur toutes les frontieres. Cette Pologne a peine reconstituee, votre allie fidele, a ete trahie deux fois par la France : a Locarno en 1925 et puis en 1939. Malgre ca, en 1940 on comptait beaucoup sur vous et la defaite de la France etait aussi la notre.

En ce qui concerne lhistoire, je maintient mon opinion sur la France. Napoleon, sil a cree le Duche de Varsovie, cest pas pour nous rendre notre pays, mais pour obtenir un grand stock de chair a canon (il envoyait des Polonais la ou d'autres ne voulaient ou ne pouvait plus lutter), de nourriture et d'argent dont il avait besoin pour la campagne en Russie.

Vos institutions font beaucoup pour preserver le francais (les quota de chansons francaises dans la radio), vous essayez de ramplacer des anglicismes par des mots francais inventes ad hoc (balladeur pour walkman ou, recemment, courriel pour email), mais tout cela est en vain. Le francais meurt comme langue internationale.

le français n'est plus la langue internationale effectivement mais je crois que son avenir reste brillant, les perspectives démographiques de l'afrique francophones et de la france en Europe sont bonnes, près de 200 millions de personnes parlent le français dans le monde et le français a dépassé le nombre de personnes parlant le portuguais, le français ne s'est jamais aussi bie porté au canada, le pays est devenu un pays bilingue....

Les pays africains n'ont pas beaucoup d'importance, car ils sont - et ils le seront encore pendant longtemps - pauvres et dechires par des conflits. Ce qui compte c'est sont des pays d' Europe, USA etc. En Pologne, un pays traditionnellement favorable a l'enseignement du francais, le nombre d'etudiants voulant l'apprendre diminue chaque annee. Le bac de francais a quasiment disparu des lycees, il n'y a plus guere d'eleves pour le passer.

Le francais devient une langue de plus en plus exotique, le seul pays qui le parle serieusement cest la France. En Belgique, en Suisse et au Quebec le francais est le parler de la minorite. Les autres pays ne peuvent pas etre pris au serieux, car ce sont des pays africains de peu dimportance.

Sil sagit de la langue polonaise, personne na jamais affirme en Pologne quelle etait ou serait une langue internationale. Cest une langue locale et elle le sera toujours. Par contre, le francais etait cosidere comme la premiere langue de communication jusqua la Grande Guerre, et meme apres, surtout dans la diplomatie et la culture. Mais regarde ce qui se passe actuellement : ou quon aille, on ne peut se communiquer quen anglais.

Alors le guerre est arrive chez vous et vous avez perdu. 1945 c'etait en fait la fin de la France qui compte dans le monde. De Gaulle, le seul Francais digne d'etre respecte au XXeme siecle, vous a sauve un peu de grandeur de jadis, mais la chute est quand meme inevitable. Regardez ce qui se passe avec le francais, ca reflete le mieux le declin de la France. Une langue mondiale avant la II guerre mondiale, il devient de plus en plus une langue morte du point de vue de communication.

Je n'ai rien contre la pologne et els polonais mais bon le polonais est parlé par combiend e personnes dans le monde 40_50 millions avec la diaspora. Le français compte près de 140 millions d'intelocuteurs. Ce n'est pas mal comme une langue morte. Bien entendu le français n'est plus la linga franca mais nous au moins on essaye de résister à l'imeprialisme culturelle anglophone

Vous ne vouliez pas mourir pour Prague en 1938, ni pour Danzig un an plus tard, donc il fallait mourir pour Paris en 1940. If France had't betrayed (as usually) its allies in Eastern Europe, Czech Rep. first in 1938, and then Poland in 1939, Germany would have been deafeted much earlier and millions of humans beings would have been saved. French cowards didn't want to die for Prague and Danzig, so they had to die for Paris. In 1935 man could say Hitler wasn't dangerous, but in 1938-39 how was it possible to still think so???!!! Yes and the French Resistance was a massive one, some 20 millions or so :)) De Daulle didn't know what to do with all these people arriving day by day to UK to fight Germans :)) The true is that, except a very small minority of brave individuals, French people didn't want to take any risque.

The nazis may well have conquered most of Europe with guns and tanks, but they could never conquer the will and spirit of people like the French and the Dutch who knew that, in time, the war would be over and that the germans could never steal their identities.

Jesus, this is nothing but fucking propaganda, Besides some people in the resistance the french were cooperating as much as they possibly could. They helped tremendously to evacuate the French-Jews to the concentration camps and there were also French SS-Battallions fighting against the russians. After the war they all belonged to the resistance, of course.

Among all occupied countries during the war, France is one of those where most of the Jews survivded to the war. That's a fact you cannot deny. In many other countries, the jewish community was completery eliminated. In France, many Jews survived to the conflict, hiding here and there.
Most of the French were neither collabo nor resistant. And we're talking about a dynamic reality. The situation was not the same in 40, 41, 42, 43, 44...
