This is fantastic, I would really love it if you made visualizations for other genres as well, especially some motown (I would kill to visualize James Jamerson)
Brilliant idea splitting the frames. Oh, no, the comments about 2 right hands are going to be endless. Although on some of your performances I was thinking you might have 3 or 4 hands actually, some with 6 or 7 fingers each! Ha ha, I'm still not sure.
Great work, I am encouraging my students of music to "look" at your work. It's wonderful. Thank you so much for helping us to visualize the structure of music. Specially in Baroque pieces, is so easy to understand with clarity the role of each voice in the polyphonic work.
Great work! I like the "..and back here tomorrow" that appears on the left speaker at 0:03, adds something theatrical , like pink floyd - the wall :- )
With a recording like this, what comes first, the chicken or the egg? Did you record one with a metronome or with a recording of the piece? I'd have to have the other person to riff off :)
@beatchef Yes, I recorded the first one against a click-track, and then the second with the click-track plus the first recording. That's why the timing is a little unnatural in places (especially the very end) --- the normal give-and-take of a live performance wasn't possible.
I would like to know if it would even be even possible to make an animation for the song "Threnody to The Victims of Hiroshima" by Krzysztof Penderecki. I would like to try, but I don't know if I even can.
So if I made a video similar to yours, using the same MAA style, do you think you could play it by sight? Or is this just a representation of the notes and nothing more? I ask because it seems like one would need some kind of bar to mark where the notes are supposed to start in relation to each other, similar to the bar in guitar hero that shows you when to time the notes you play, if that makes sense. Is this in any particular key? Sorry, I just like to ask questions.
Couple you please play "The heart seeks please first" from the movie "The Piano" .... It's such a beautiful and complex piece of music and I'd love see how that would translate into your technology!
why do i see a person with 2 right hands?

@GotsTricks I think a pipe organ is usually considered a woodwind (or, at least, a wind) instrument.

@CamButler This notation is designed for listeners, not performers; it would have to be different in many ways to be suitable for performing from.
