Why is everyone so worked up on whether or not or how someone is worshipping? GOD says we look on outward appearances and HE sees their heart. some of the most powerful moments i have ever had i was sitting down and not raising my hands. But I felt the presence of GOD none the less! The fact that they are there is enough for me! it isnt up to us if they praise him "correctly" . As if there is such a thing! and who cares about stage presence when you're singing a song to GOD? All glory be to HIM.
Amazing song she is a wonderful blessing to my ears and soul, very deep lyrics from Isaiah 6. The hand of God is upon her. What do we know of this love?
I love the song. She can sing. However, she has no stage presence whatsoever and she covered her beautiful face with that hat. Somebody give her some showmanship training so that she can do on stage what she does in a recording studio! Oh and may the joy of the Lord be with her always!
I've been a Christian for all of my 39 years, but this is the first contemporary Christian music I have heard that I actually love. I was scanning through stations on the radio and heard this song and had to write down the name to check for it online when I got home. I've been going through their catalog and I can't believe how many great songs they have! I especially love This Little Light of Mine as well as What Do I Know of Holy.
What will it take for you to judge properly whether or not someone is worshiping the Lord? Do you need them to cry or smile, laugh or jump? What if the Lord wanted just their presence so He could move within there hearts? Is that sufficient enough to silence your judgements of others?
@texasguy5001 Ok I know where you are coming from with this. But seriously, think about what the defintion for judging is. You are totally right, sometimes, we just need to shutup, be still, and be quiet and wait on God, other times, dance like we are mad. But people wondering if they are worshipping or not, ISNT, judgement, it is just simple speculation. Now, none of it is really a big deal, so ya, God bless
@texasguy5001 Wow, I have to admit, I didnt expect such a good reply haha. But thanks, it made my day, if you seen what my day consisted of youd know why haha. But cool im glad, have a nice days, God bless!
@40ozofbadfish 2 wonder if some1 is worshiping comes from an inner bias as 2 what 1 thinks worship is and how 1 thinks it should manifest. I'm as guilty as ne1 on this. Problem is, when you read Scripture you c passages that say something like "he built an alter and worshiped God"...but Scripture is intentionally non-specific on how they worshiped because everyone who worships God doesn't worship Him exactly the same. David's dance was unique to him. 2 "dance like David" is 2 copy David :-)
well i know i often stood like that in the middle of songs cause i didnt know the gospel. like the truth. about my weakness and his stength. and his love for me. It was all..peices. like "jesus loves you." no one came up to me and said "if it werent for christ i wouldnt exist!!". rarely does anyone talk about him realistically or accurately. Some of those girls are probably like.."what the hell...i have problems...what is this song doing for me?!!
those girls are young....this song is very deep....no way I would have understood it or known of its importance and power when i was that age....its hard to understand those types of things til ur older
i meet jenny from addison road at camp in gloreita new mexico at fuge camp she is really cool. in she even wear one of our brackets we made for her. so cool
I Love this video, I wish that I could have seen them live! (: if it was me, I would have been worshiping, unlike the people in this crowd who just stood and stared.
@Inspirationization I know right? I mean, we cant judge them, maybe they arent being taught right by their leaders, but I pray they find it in them to worship, this is such a good song, very humbling, its awesome :)
@texasguy5001 Is it judging to see something completely blatant? no. So no i am not judging. Judging isnt, looking at someone and realizing they are a sinner, a saint, a worshipper or not. Judging is sizing someone up by their worth based on their actions. Something alot of people get skewed. And also, what you do in the physical is a representation on whats going on in the spiritual. Also, you can tell by someones worship how forgiven they are. In other sense, how thankful they are.
@Inspirationization I know we dont know what they were thinking and all that stuff, but if I was her singing i would be hoping and wishing those people looked a little more like they got the song and were touched by it. She sings it with such feeling. would stink to feel like you were the only one in the room who was feelin somethin lol. *shrug* what do i know though.
@Inspirationization thats so true! well the audience looks like a bunch of little kids.... so i wouldnt really expect them to be worshipping :) lol God bless
@Jesusfreak44evr not to be rude but Worshiping isnt singing along to a song. Worshiping can be expressed in multiple different ways. Singing is one way. praying is another. quiet times and getting into the word is another, and another is service to the public. in the singing department its perfectly ok to stand there and listen and watch and acknowledge the music and purely listen to the lyrics. also you can hear talking in the background during the entire song basically.
such natural talent.. sounds exactly the same recorded as live... that's the gauge.. whether its talent or the equipment making them sound good.. this song makes me want to raise my hands to him- praise God... watch out if I hear it in the car. while driving.... ;)
man this song speaks to me! i go to a christian school and during our bible study this was playing....this is now my fave songs! its so true and incredible!!!!
Truly beautiful and gifted voice and a beautiful and meaningful song. Really captures the struggle we all have in trying to live a holy life and in trying to understand God.
Beautiful lyrics and singing. As for the girls down front -- does their appearance matter more than their presence? At least they were hearing/receiving this beautiful music. Most likely, their disposition and/or stance is about their age and their self-confidence (or self-consciousness). Not uncommon. They are blessed by this music, either way -- and I would bet the singer was glad those girls were there. That's their music's purpose - to reach out & exhort others, not feel better themselves.
I LOVE the part that said "I made you too small", because i struggle with that myself, and i think everyone does, i just forget that i have to be fearful of the Lord and respect him and love him, he isn't a human.. and sometime i forget =)
guys come on.. get out of your head.. true worship? there is no such thing.. Worship is what it is.. you either do it or you dont. and who cares what those girls look like.. wanna see a strange face. look in a mirror.. good grief. ya'll are going to miss the honey for the bees.
Isn't it interesting how those girls on the front row stand out. How hard that must have been to sing looking right at them. The sad thing is if they were at a pop or country concert they probably would have a totally diffenent outward appearance---jumping up and down, hands raised up, singing, shouting---all the things the psalmist would have loved to have seen.. We all worship-----something.
I totally agree with you, but keep in mind how young they are and probably don't have any concert experience. Plus how often does the church hinder true worship. Sad, but true.
haha she is awesomee!! i love herrr!!:) God sure has blessed her! she has an amzingg voice!! and those girls are sooo lucky to be standin that close to hEr!!! WHAT R THEY THINKINN!?!? lol!=] i would be like OMG im standing next to Addison Road!!! AHH!! :) :) hahah
Yeah, but the more I thought about it those are the same faces that Jesus saw as he marched to the cross. He looking on them with love and He got nothing but a scowl back.
Dont think she is criticizing anyone with this song. She is questioning what she knows about God and maybe challenging others to think about it for themselves? If these girls were seeking something more "fun" they should have walked out instead of attending a Christian concert.............
I think they are just being teenage girls. When I was a teenage girl I often was asked if I was ok, because people though I looked sad. I wasn't sad, just my stance and thoughtful face somehow looked sad to people. So I don't really think we as viewers who know nothing of these girls should be judging them based on their stance during one song. Not everyone shows their emotions the same, or is moved by the same things as others.
You made the point clearer, I think. I'd like to clarify b/c I was trying to say that the were just standing the way they stand. My daughter (now 22) was misinterpreted at times b/c she would watch & listen with a passive face -- which was sometimes taken as disdain or indifference. She wasn't uncaring; she was just keeping her thoughts inside to herself & taking things in. I didn't mean to imply anything or judge. The girls could be moved & (like my daughter) just not display it for everyone.
@ziamria , i believe that's what the song might be about. perhaps they are saying that this watered down, media friendly, self absorbent faith that's being broadcast out there now is washing out our potential to know something of holy...
Greetings, I agree we shouldn't judge them. That does not mean we can't sit back, and have hoped for a better response from the girls. I guess we both hope God spoke through their hearts to the girls; the same way thins song probably touched us. Peace and God bless to you ;)
I think something else to notice is that these young girls were probably aware that they were being video taped. I doubt i would be very comfortable being taped without prior knowledge and time to make myself look "just right". I would be distracted and uncomfortable the entire time. I doubt they were trying to be rude or disdainful at all.
Wow. She sounds exactly the same live. She is the real deal in every sense of the phrase.
