Man I have not ridden this trail since '98 on my Merlin Ti hardtail. Makes me want to go back and ride it on my Knolly now. Not sure why one would need full upper body armor and full face helmet...either way...Good choice on using Prong!
Excellent riding. Thats just crazy at 9:23. I have been Jeeping in Moab for years, such an amazing place. I just started biking this past summer, I want to go down to Moab but I will need to start on something a little more forgiving than this trail.
What kind of bikes you guys riding? Just moved to Grand Junction this year and shopping for a bike for next season. Any recommendations for these trails?
I am in scouts and my leader who is an extreme biker was all like I know this super easy awesome decsending slope hill that we could go on. 4 miles uphill and 18 miles down hill later most kids were bleeding with a hatred of biking in mind but This was the funnest trail of my life
sweet - this video made me decide on this track for my day out in Moab (on hols from the UK) and what a mega mega track. the lower bit is just incredible with that drop off on one side and tecnical slab drops. brilliant, back for a week now and missing it already
I love this freaking trail! Was there two weeks ago and I am glad to see that good riders had to walk the sections that I had to walk. Yeah steverino333 I was there starting in '85 doing Porcupine and Slickrock. Nobody had heard of disc brakes and suspension was for the Betties. But it seemed easier back then. I don't know why. I guess half a century of gravity sports has taken it's toll. But I can still rock with the young guys - for about 2 hours then I have to go to bed LOL!
Pretty radical! Great video and riding....P-rim is pretty exposed. My experience with biking Moab, like stererino333, was pre-suspension of any kind. In retrospect it was pretty nuts? But I don't ever remember feeling like I was going to die. I think the worst of it was carrying all the water that we would need on the bike and in giant (totally geeky) fanny packs. What can I tell you?
great riding, great filiming and great music.... however, when I was your age, my buds and I bombed P-Rim, Slickrock, P-Spider and the rest w/o body armor and full-face hemuts on ridgid bikes!
@hoseheed- Don't get me wrong... I'm all for body armor, full-faced helmuts and especially suspention and if we had it when I was a kid then maybe it would be a little easier getting out of bed in the morning now that I'm 52. BTW- what is the name of the 1st song in your vid?
@89folvo@89folvo Good for you still riding hard. Boy does it suck when guys over 50 like us go to the ground though. I went down Sun in the Kettles in WI while it was wet and slimy w/ fallen leaves. I was bombing a real fun little trail trying to drop my 21 yr old buddy when my front wheel slid more than I thought it would on a slippery rock. Most of me went over my handle bars but my lower half landed on those up-turned bars in full flight. Result was a massive thigh contusion. Ouch!
@steverino333 Yea it sucks when you crash like that and the worst thing about getting older is it takes longer to heal!! I sprained a couple of fingers on Porcupine a few weeks ago and they are still stiff and sore. Love that trail though. Riding it as the bottom of The Whole Enchilada makes a 30 mile downhill!!!. Worth the trip down there all by itself. Got to get myself a new helmet cam!!
@steverino333 You don't like body armor? I would happily prefer wearing a full face helmet then falling on my face on that slickrock. Armor is great too, I mean who needs all those scrapes when you can just stick some gear on?
@hoseheed what you can do to get the shack down is have a frame of reference in the video, like the top of your helmet or something. That way it stays still the whole time, and when people watch it their brains will see it as smoother. That is what i do with my GoPro
i love this mountain bike video. my favorite part was 0:00-10:59 :D

@steverino333 I'm almost with ya... You've only got me on the rigid bike. I'm just behind the camera so you can't see me :)

The shakiness is my my head! Trails don't get much bumpier than this one though. The cam is a ContourHD.
