He won against overwhelming odds because he had guns and cannon -- and the Muslim-Hindu Alliance had none.

No. He is her cousin(like her own brother). He was hoping he will get portion of the kingdom. But Joda's father announced her brother Bhagwaan to be the Rajkumar of Amer and Sujamal(he) will work under Bagwaan. Naturally he felt he got a raw deal.Even Joda was not happy about it.
