@Polishjazzman That's weird, I met a bunch of those guys at a Pro-Am hosted by Wiseman in Baltimore a couple years back. Wiseman was super nice. We did a dual 7-10 split shot. He took out the 7 and I missed the 10 cuz I was so freakin nervous haha. Maybe he was having a bad day when you met him!
That was absolutely amazing. I guess Norm had something to prove after that crack about his height.
For those who didn't catch it, after Norm said he was doing the stunt, Doug Kent said "You have to be taller than the chair to get it over it, don't ya?"
While he may have hit light with the 2 pin, Norm Duke actually appears dangerous with the towel/rag shot. If the towel/rag is somewhat abrassive, it can get serious revs and the towel can act as a sling, thus giving additional speed. It wouldn't surprise me if Norm has had a 300 with this technique. Don't know if USBC makes it legal, but looks like could be a novelty form like that 2-handed Aussie of recent.
How awesome would it have been if Wiseman had converted the 7-10 by himself after Doug Kent missed the 7? That highlight would have been on ESPN for a century.
Yeah, I agree with Rivers ask someone who has those balls. My teammate also has the Cell Pearl, it is a really good ball. The hook is fantastic(: I have the Tropical Storm, or as Storm I like to call it xD. And I have a Brunswick, as my spare ball.
Hi, im looking for a high performance ball. Which should i choose? i cant decide between the Rogue Cell and the Cell Pearl by Roto Grip?? any advice on which is better?? any response will be greatly appreciated...
These are, and have always been fun to watch. They need to add 30 minutes to the ESPN coverage so that the matches don't run over the time limit and they can use these as time fillers after the match when necessary. Great fun to watch!

lol not where I live, i was chucking balls like shottputts and my friend swung it around from his waist to his head then threw hit, hit the ceiling and bounced down... and he managed to get a strike :S
This is something they do outside the tour, just like your slam dunk contests or your home run derby. It the same thing for bowling, trick shots. And no!! Bowling is not something where you go get drunk with your friends with, and there is more to it then getting drunk and having cheap entertainment for.
It's "Americans" like you that give the sport that outlook sometimes! Innovation of the sport came within the past few decades, ball cores, ball covers, lane oil patterns have all helped bowling become a complex competitive sport that it is known today. And I appreciate it that you respect that.
No entertainment does no escape from me, yes the trick shots is there for entertainment but if you base that off by saying its not a sport, thats totally irrelevant.
@ninjaturtletommy I bowled with Jake Kent, his son, in tournaments in/around, Rochester NY. Doug Kent would come to the tournament to watch. Doug is a great guy.
@guleca Actually, the flying eagle has been around since the 50's...so I wouldnt say it's either of their shots

kid1424654844 2 years ago
depends on what your idea of performance is. lots of revs, big hook, slow hook, and so on.
for revolutions OR the hook, i advise the cell pearl
my league mate has it, and it throws perfectly with a big hook. try asking someone who allready has one of those balls :)

And who invents things like the "Towel Shot" and the one where you throw it over a chair???
