The bugs dry out and eventually die from dehydration then you empty the catcher. It's not a catch and release health spa for bugs :) That's my understanding anyway.
@litetheory the dead bugs helping atrackting more bugs, and my run a year white no cleaning still was not full, cleand it and put new lights in it thats it..
I prefer the usual "crack and death sound" rather than dehydration. At least I know its working

Hi, I'm interested but have a question.
The fan "traps" the bugs at the base of the unit right? what if you remove the plug.. The fan will stop rotating and the bugs are set free again?
Maybe it would be best to incorporate a replaceable sticky paper at the bottom of the unit to permanently trap the insects.
