  • Something about the guitar and flute together really compliment each other. Wonderful.

  • @matrags you are absolutely right! i play the flute and i have to say that the guitar is the other half of the flute! i love it!

  • Music. Appreciation.

  • No, No, No, No, No! this is not how you play Bach. Another wrong interpretation of Sleepers Wake (Youtube has plenty).

The song has it's aesthetic "beauty" but Bach created for the spirit and this is rubbish in comparison.

  • @WaltherQ68 You're a snob.

  • Thank you very much for the performance:-).May I ask where you got the arrangement for this Duo?

    Nice regards,Grischa

  • Wonderful performance. If you are able, could you let me know the arranger and publisher of this version for flute and guitar?

  • @kmurch23 The arrangement must be from "Wedding Music for Flute and Guitar", by Mychal Gendron, Cathedral Music Press. It's published by Mel Bay Publications, MB94737. The performance is note for note from that arrangement.

  • @taislampa Thank you!

  • tienes alguna partitura para estudiar?, en especial este arreglo.

  • Amazing ! Where did you get this Arrangement for the Guitar? Where do i get this from ? Nice greetz from Berlin.

  • @kf40 lol.

  • Me gusta mucho el dùo que forman, suena muy bien!!!. Felicitaciones por lo que hacen!. Slds!

  • at my school they did flute and chello, it was beautiful

  • This sounds amazing,nice job!

  • The flautist is so good in this, nice rich tone, almost woody in timbre, very well done.

  • @bearo657 I agree. She did it very well.

  • Wish I could play the flute as well as you! :)

  • Bravo!

  • Guitar and flute is a very pleasing combination.

  • no crickets!

  • Flute is so perfect for this.

  • Lovely... sounds absolutely haunting...

  • splendid version impeccably played - just one thing - how about a close up of glorious flute girl?

  • Touching--excellent!!!

  • Speechless.

  • Excellent performance!

The only shame is that nowadays even in classical music women tend to dress like working girls :( IMHO this mocks also the divine content of that masterpiece...

    SLEEPERS AWAKE!

  • @lxplmp It's the iron age: the age of the proletariat. May Shiva destroy what is for a new golden age.

  • @lxplmp

How is she dressed like a "working girl"? She's wearing a simple LBD with black heals.

What should she be wearing? A long sleeved ankle length high collar dress with pantaloons?! A burka?!

I've worn backless dresses for concerts before. And it doesn't "mock" the divine masterpieces I played. Just because it's classical music does not mean it has to be stuffy, uptight and "Puritan-like". Classical music can be divine, elegant, sensual and sexy.

  • @MozartGirl1756

    Sex(y): Jazz- /Rock (=occult acoustic garbage).

    LBD/ high heels: Sodom(ite clothing).

  • @lxplmp

Wow....just wow. People are allowed to believe and think how they want, but really...

But seriously? I hate, HATE to say you're train of thought is ridiculous, but it is. the fact that you think jazz and rock are linked to the occult.

I'm actually appalled that you think that way. Appalled. Stunned. Flabbergasted.

You realize that not ever classical composer was pure and pious right?? Some were sodomites, fornicators, bawdy and sacriligious.

    Seriously.......

  • @MozartGirl1756 Having played Jazz and Rock "music" and living that lifestyle for over a decade, I had to learn the occult forces and spirits behind these "styles" the hard way! (Btw.: both Jazz and Rock were afro-american slang words for sex.)

Find the documentaries "Hell's Bells 2" and "They Sold their Souls for Rock 'N Roll" here on YouTube" - and pls don't have your mind made up before seeing them ;)

And of course: Mozart (very probably) was a pervert - still his music is not carnal :o)

  • Well, I'm a fan for life. Do you guys ever put out anything that's subpar? It seems impossible for you. ;-)

  • Muito lindo!!!

  • It really is infuriating that there are so many comments that refer to the physical attributes, rather than the musical skills, of the flautist. Whoever she is, she is an exceptional talent, who must have worked incredibly hard to perfect her skills.

  • @Rejtana

Sure, and there are lots of comments on the quality of this and other recordings from these two, always top-quality. It is true, however, that this is not the worst-looking girl you've ever seen.

  • great version and mmm the girl.

  • The music is easy on the ears and the lady is easy on the eyes. :)

  • 美しい

  • the flote is too high.. i think the guitar must be a bit stronger

  • Beautifully played

  • La flautista esta muy bien...

  • Absolutely love this. So beautiful.

  • Fantastic! And I LOVE the arrangement!

  • I am working on this song right now (for flute guitar and voice) for my grade 10 RCM exam. Gorgeous. Very similar arrangement too.

  • wow! love it! :) the flute and guitar just sound so good! heard this song during Christmas on my younger years. :)

  • soothing really !

  • have looked at a load of versions of this and this is great! - -added to favourites - thanks, martin.

  • You two play very well, but I must say that I don't like this arrangement very much. The chorale tune should be given to the instrument with the more distinctive timbre, in this case obviously the flute. This sounds less like a chorale prelude and more like a movement from a flute sonata. But at the end of the day, that's fine as well.

  • A very beautiful woman with a beautiful instrument playing a most beautiful transcibtion!

I also like the guitar :)

    how fascinating!

  • i luv this song

  • saying hi from sydney!

    love your work :)

  • Absolutely beautiful! This is the best of what our White Western Civilisation produces.

  • i like this song :)

  • bravo!

  • A alma humana fala de muitas formas... Bendito seja Deus!

  • bravura!

  • Not bad playing on either part. The flute sounded a little loud. Maybe she was standing under the mic. Maybe play at a MP....

  • Hello,

Please, can you tell me where i can get this sheet music. I 'm concertist and i would like to play this music with my flutiste, can you give me the name of the editor.

    Thank you.

  • Very pretty, and well played! I did this as a violin duet last year with my co-concert master for solo ensemble. It went over well with the judges, but we weren't nearly as good as you, this piece was just breathtaking on the flute! Brava to you and kudos to your accompanist!

  • Master piece, and this women is sooooooo ....pretty :p

  • Muito bom!!!!!

  • what type of flute are you playing? where can i find the sheet music to this piece? very nice work.

  • Great!

  • Well Done bravo!

  • I have heard this piece in many different ways. You two are just beautiful in your rendition. Simple and so clean. I enjoyed it immensely. thank you.

  • Good. I would highly enjoy a switch to picollo when the flute plays out the melody!

  • Beautiful.

  • Beautiful music and woman (=

  • Lovelly! And I agree the flute would be very piano when the guitar enters the chorale part, it would be stunning.

  • Very nice.

  • great job!!! 5/5 : )

  • Wouldnt it be better to let the guitar do the isntrumental part, and the flute the voice part? Maybe its to boring for the flute, but to just play the bass and melody works very well on the guitar. Here he plays like a chord thing, and the voice part is really lost. but its still bach, so its nice

  • It's a good point but I guess we just played the arrangement that we had at the time.

  • where did you get your arrangement?? i love it and want it lol :)

  • @craigalake which is the one that comes from?

Wedding Music for Flute & Guitar

     By Mychal Gendron? nice though.

  • Beautiful! Such a lovely pairing, the guitar and flute on this piece. The performers take the elegance and grandeur of this superb work to a simple level; yet its very simplicity is what makes it so enchanting. Bravo! Just lovely. Thank you.

  • yeah sexy ladies should go classics, this would be great world)

  • she is so sexy, i love her!

  • @seremamon

now now...the music's supposed to blind you to all that... ;-)

  • @seremamon indeed, gorgeous and sexy id love to have her feet in my mouth after that performance.

  • Nice job, perfect for 7 am. A fun piece to play. I liked the guitar alone, "Sleepers Awake", I would have to kill anyone who woke me with a trumpet!

  • the chorale, which would be filled in by the trumpet, comes in on the thirteenth measure. hopefully you would be awake by then. A cornet is a bit more mellow, perhaps that would be preferred for this concerto. But you have to acknowledge that there is an entire element missing from this concerto, and it is the chorale.

  • I beg to differ. The chorale tune is in here and is played by the guitar starting at 0:58. There is no trumpet scored in the original (the tenors sing this chorale) and it is not a concerto (unless by that you mean it is concerted music). It is a chorale from a cantata. It was transcribed by Bach himself as an organ chorale prelude (BWV 645).

  • i know, but when the guitar takes over the chorale, you lack the walking bass provided in the first few measurments. If you dont like the idea of the trumpet playing the chorale, you could fill in the bass with a trombone. Even BWV 645 requires three voices. One for each hand and one for the feet. And trying to play the bass and the chorale on the same instrument results in somewhat of a mess. The timbre between the strings is too close in sound.

  • ¡ Perfecto y precioso !. Me encanta como suena. Saludos.

  • A third instrument is definitely needed. A trumpet would do great.

  • (she) is so beautiful!

  • How dare you turn the page in the middle of the piece!

:) Joking but didnt it cause a mistake?

  • So wonderful :]

  • che carini! :)

  • This is my most favourite of Bach's compositions.

  • Hey, where do you know where I can find this arrangement? Great playing, by the way.

  • It's so beautiful...

  • Impressive. The tempo is just so perfect and well played that it moves you. well done

  • I play this piece as an organ-chorale (one of the Schubler-chorales). This version for flute and guitar is also very nice. On this video it is well played by these very good young musicians.

  • I cried listening to this. Thank you SO much for your beautiful work! Where did you get your music for this piece?

  • Bach is THE MASTER. You can arrange any of Bach's music for many combinations of intraments and it will ALWAYS sound good!

  • video molto bello spero ritrovarne altri, degli stessi attori.

    ciao

  • Very nice ....... The instruments work well together in one of my favourite Bach pieces .... Well played.

  • i love this song !!! makes me cry

  • Esta es la Mejor Version que he escuchado de esta cancion! Fantastico! Amo a esos musicos!

  • muchas gracias!

  • this is a beautiful performance

  • This is SO nice.

  • i am play wachet auf ruft ubs die stimme op cornet i am better als herr

  • am pl

  • simple in design yet elegant in taste ...bravo

  • No doubt - wonderful performed.

I spent my childhood in Leipzig, Germany and I often went in htis church, called Thomaskirche where Bach did his work to earn his dayly bread. I can feel the spirit of this piece "Wacht auf ruft uns die Stimme..." and I understand the sense of the words.

You played it as I feel it. Not to fast, with emotion and devotion. I miss any colrations from the original organ score, but that's not tragic.

    Greetings from Germany

  • Aaaah is nice

  • Wonderful and aesthetic. Very nice picture, beautiful sound.

    Bach is my absolute favourite.

  • Beautiful Music! Beautiful People! Beautiful Dress! Beautiful High Heels! Beautiful Hair! Beautiful Steinway! Beautiful stage! Yeah! Beautiful!

  • very well done by both players!! I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for uploading.

btw can anyone tell me the difference betn this piece & Zion hort die wachter singen?? (Zion hears the watchmen sing). Same composer & melody but completely different titles & lyrics.

  • They're different movements of the same cantata (BWV 140); both texts come from the same hymn.

  • Very beautiful. The interplay of the two melodies comes across very beautifully in this.

  • dolce e delicato; oserei dire inebriante. Brava !!

  • Sounds great. You can play flute for me anytime. I lose a little bit of the melody when it appears, but great.

  • Bravuraaaa!!!

  • That sounds amazing!

    Keep going!,,

  • You two sound amazing! Nice choice of instruments.

  • Muito bonito! É uma das minhas músicas preferidas de Bach. É muito difícil formar um duo desses. Continuem e muito sucesso.

  • beautiful

  • Wonderful playing my friend! :)

  • Very nice play and very good accompaniment of guitar!Bravo guys!
