  • this is one of the best videos of changing the guard winsor, great quality and the band was in a good shape

  • to cuhalug7392: Yes, Bond of Friendship sends a tingle down my spine. I loved this march the first time I heard it: Band of the Scots Guards some years ago during their North American tour , a performance on Long Island, NY. If you wish to see and hear it performed at its best, see the Band Spectacular from Wembly Stadium (early 1980's). To windsorsoldiers: Thanks again for all your fine work.

  • Hey W.S. please note the NEW user name ... Crappy computor crashed and locked out all other entries.. The results of the USA tour of The Band of Irish Guards has been posted on theie militart website. The New Brunswick N.J event was rated their best .. And you are to thank..They are now back home in Wellington Barracks.. Now--it's up to you. Cheers.

  • I'm going to see the Irish Guards in Worcester (Massachusetts) tomorrow night!

  • @hongbao Great---when they play The Black Bear March--make sure you yell --Oy !

Bond of Friendship was played as was God Save the Queen Please be sure to sing it , out of respect..We all did. We drove rountrip to New Brunswick n.J and back to gettysburg Pa.. 400 miles . FANTASTIC

  • danmeyers,

You don't need to justify singing "God Save the Queen" to this little Tory! I wanted to sing all three verses.

And yes, my "oy''s were among the loudest.

The British Consul came over from Boston to dismiss the band.

I believe it was the most enjoyable evening of entertainment of my life.

    Master windsorsoldiers,

please forgive me for hi-jacking your posting's comments, but YOU were the one who first introduced me to British Military Ceremonial and marches. THANK YOU.

  • I went! It was wonderful!

Irish Guards Band and the Pipes and Drums of the Sutherland and Argyll Highlanders (5 Bn. RRS)

Band member came and chatted with patrons before the performance and at intermission.

I returned from uh..you know, to find my wife chatting with a charming officer. Later, we looked him up in the booklet and it was Major Shannon, the Music Director!

    Welsh music.

lots of drill on a crowded stage.

Bandmajor and Pipemajor together with mace-drill.

    Sword dances and flings.

  • Last night, the family attended the Grand opening concert of the Band of the Irish Guard etal. FATASTIC. Band Master M.D. Walters, was presented my Card with instructions to make ocntact with you and report our meeting. Other band members and dancers,.have watched your many videos.. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Lad ...In your honor, , I yelled the heartiest Oy as the band exited to Black Bear.

    Kee 'em coming.

  • Ohh! WOW :D Did the band master actually mention me :P?

  • @windsorsoldiers Yes . He and another W/o only know you by your first name. They were delighted to have you inside Victoria Barracks. More delighted that a Yank is watching thme too. They will seek you out to hand over my card. Is the Marching Constable your Father or Uncle ?. He too has replied about the traffic light device inside their new Police helmets, to tunr the traffic lights to red. But the band & dancers recall you doing the video inside Victoria Barracks common .Who is CandiH ?

  • @danmeyers55

Yeah, as I mentioned before. I don't think CandiH is related to windsorsoldiers at all.

  • Does Bond of Friendship send a tingle down anyone else's spine? "Will do description when back from school!" , a salutary reminder that this excellent video is brought to us by such a young man. Bravo as ever WS, if you could offer your youtube product as homework you would get A+ every time! Once again thanks to you sgoudie for filling in the blanks in my knowledge of the marches played. Amen to your best wishes for Right Flank Company 1st Battalion, gavsky23, and indeed everyone out there.

  • @chugalug7392 It did last night for my family--live and uncut as the Band of Irish gaurds played in New Jersey USA ... The beat of the drums was--REVERBERATING..

  • Chugalug,

Yes, "Bond of Friendship" sent chills down my already well-chilled spine at the Irish Guards performance last night.

I had always taken it for granted.

  • Any videos of em?

  • windsorsoldiers,

I regret that I am an impoverished clergyman without the funds, technical skill, or artistic talent to record videos. Much less at the level you do.

I bought a CD of the bands performing the music from last night (profits from souvenirs, as from the tour go to help disabled veterans and their families) but there were no DVD's available.

If I had had my wits about me, I would have had my picture taken with the guardsmen, drum and pipe majors, and music director with whom I spoke

  • Because we have the Scots Guards band here, it's a good opportunity to wish the 150 men from Right Flank Company, 1st Battalion, a safe tour in Afghanistan. They left Catterick last week. From cold and snow to heat and dust!

  • Great performance from the Band of The Scots Guards led by the Senior Drum Major WO2 Tony Moors Grenadier Guards.

  • another great piece of footage Windsor. Looks nice and cold there too. We are sweltering in 39C about 102degrees in the old scale. Send some cold weather to Oz and some rain too!!!

  • Excellent! I'm joining the RLC :)

  • Once more, Master Windsorsoldiers, you have made my day with a new video.

I DO hope your family and neighbors know what a following you have around the world.

  • Marches played by The Band of the Scots Guards are:

    "Machine Gun Guards"

    "Sarafand"

    "Action Front"

    "Washington grays"

    "The Bond of Friendship"

"The Royal Logistic Corps On Parade"

  • Thanks for the info. The marches I was inquiring about were Start to 1:47 and 7:11 to end

  • March from 5:49 until turn into barracks (7:09)

is Bond of Friendship by John Mackenzie-Rogan

  • Guard is from 1 Logistic Support Regiment,

    Royal Logistics Corps

  • Awful grammar on my part. Will try again. What is the Guard unit and why does it not have "escorts" out?

  • @formerdoc...It's strange isn't it? Only ever seen a couple of other videos without escorts mounting. So I guess it must be something they can do, or not, according to Officer/S-Major's choice? Maybe someone will enlighten us.

  • what is the name of the first and last march? Why no "escorts" with whatever the is the Guard unit?

  • As always a lovely video.

I do like the new angles!
