not the history of Iran goas back to 6th Century B.C. but the history of the EMPIRE which was founded about 550 B.C. by Cyrus the Great.

They were Kingdoms but not Empires. The Achaemenid Empire was the first one ever to unify all Iranian kingdoms which covered the territory of today Iran - and of course much more - to build the base of our country. It was not a local kingdom as the Elamit kingdom and the Medain kingdom were. It was the first state which organized a region from India to Egypt and from the Danube to the Indus. Again, of course the history of civilization in our country is much older.
