I am working on a book now. I am really excited about it. But I am one of those people that have to go in order. I love my prologue to bits. But my introduction/chapter 1 I can NOT do. Every time I do it, I end up just deleting it.
SO I am like plotting things non-stop, and will continue to just plot till I can write my introduction.
I really need to get the first book and read it. I live at a boarding school, and can't drive, so it is rather difficult to get it. But I promise I will get it :)

My book is a fantasy with a make believe world and magic and such like yours (but much different from yours) and is exactly 51,527 words at this point, and I've only been writing for a month. My book has 5 sequels (all between 200,000-250,000 words I predict) and I've only been planning all 6 since the summer. I cannot imagine myself planning for 6 years like you did! haha
my book has 73,475 words in 16 chapters so far. My other book that I've completed but haven't done anything with it yet has 51,874 words within 21 chapters.
First off CONGRATS! It takes time and dedication to do something you love!! my first novel is just starting with 5,100 words and i can't believe i even have that but i'm far away still nothing compared to 100,000! not yet anyways!

I have notebooks full of scenes that contain loopholes or simply can't work in my story anymore. It just feels wrong to toss them. They're part of the crazy journey that will lead me to the final draft. Not to mention, I have a family who would scour my trash if they knew any part of the book-they-cannot-read-until-it's-finished was in there.

No, you're not crazy for keeping writing that you'll never use--I usually print it out and then delete it from my manuscript, but your "Word Dump" sounds really cool. Who knows? You could post deleted scenes on your Website like Stephenie Meyer did!

93, 451 words in my novel. I wanted 100, 000 but the book was pretty much finished and I didn't want it to drag on.
Congrats though! 100, 000! that's like... 2 times your average nanowrimo winning manuscript! So... Epic win for Kaleb!

My book is a fantasy with a make believe world and magic and such like yours (but much different from yours) and is exactly 51,527 words at this point, and I've only been writing for a month. My book has 5 sequels (all between 200,000-250,000 words I predict) and I've only been planning all 6 since the summer. I cannot imagine myself planning for 6 years like you did! haha

55,000 not the best compared with everyone else but this is the frist book i have written properly so i would say it was a pretty big acheivment for me. still hvaent finished it though :)
though i hope to have between 70,000-90,000 when i have finished :)

My novel itself it just under 50,000 but I still have to add in all of the flashbacks that I have been working on, and thats at least 5,000 words right there, but I'm not done with them yet.

The novel I'm querying for is about 84,000, and my unedited NaNoWriMo novel is about 96,000. I can't say I've ever passed the big 100K mark, though. Bonus points to you! :)

I have notebooks full of scenes that contain loopholes or simply can't work in my story anymore. It just feels wrong to toss them. They're part of the crazy journey that will lead me to the final draft. Not to mention, I have a family who would scour my trash if they knew any part of the book-they-cannot-read-until-it's-finished was in there.
Btw, it's my birthday!
My goal this year is to finish said book. Wish me luck!!!

my book is about 45,000 words right now, but it's hard to tell because I write so out of order. Everything is scattered throughout word documents and notebooks. I'd say it's about halfway done though. I hope to finish it before August. :D

My high fantasy novel is done at 85,000 words, my second novel is done at 100,000 words, and my other two novels are both done at 50,000 words.
Now if only I could get one of them published...

I have a ton of stories im wirtting at the moment, but the one Im focusing on the most because I wanna get it finsihed for all my readers is a Harry Potter Fanfiction called Acting out, and at the moment its at 44,895 words and I still have a TON of stuff left to add to it! im hoping it'll be up to 100000 words by the time im done it :)

Congrats that is awesome :) How many words was the first novel? I am currently writing my first novel and I've reached 56K - and you are right it's an AMAZING feeling.
I do the same thing - I have two documents open at the same time as well - it's for stuff I've written and character/plot/backgrounds on my book and it has 5K in it at the moment.
