  • just go out there and take a fuckin slapshot, thats how you get better at them, not waving a a fucking metal bar in the air like a norwegian

  • @Estileese this is or off seson son.

  • @Estileese

This is not about getting better. This is resistance training. And it DOES work to increase the power in your slap shot.

  • @Estileese you sir, are getting a thumbs up

  • @Estileese

"just go out there and take a ****** slapshot, thats how you get better at them"

That might have worked 30 years ago. These days no serious athlete can afford to forgo gym training, unless they like getting their butt kicked in competition.

  • @yewutube you fag there are good athletes that dont need training you dicksucking cunt

  • @Estileese

"there are good athletes that dont need training"

Yeah, bowlers, golfers, and cricketers. Oh, and you.

  • @yewutube oh my fucking god i feel so bad you classified my with other types of sporters, wow i might as well just go and leave you guys to fucking jerk off in front of your webcams to other people. LOL

  • @yewutube

sorry but golfers still need training , just look at tiger , the guy can probably bench over 300lbs

  • this guy does not know how fucking dumb he looks when he does this

  • i did this workout and now i can slash like the best of them

  • A quick hard slap shot is what we need.

  • What i do is practise push passing and dragflicking with skittle balls cos they're really heavy! It makes a hockey ball feel like a feather

  • guys, why not just saw off a stick at the blade and drill a hole for something to connect the stick and the machine?

  • I'm sure, you can also take a hockey bungie cord, attach one end to a hockey stick (or possibly a weighted bar) and the other to the weight stack and do the same thing, no?

  • Great new tool!

  • This guy shoot right...but dont forget to work both side to develop your obliques equal on both sides

  • i bet you could do something like that with bodylastics resistance bands. just need to attach a band to a stick or something...

  • What a great idea

  • Where can i buy one of this?

I already shot hardest in my team but i am going to play with the older next year and my trainer said that i should train even more on slapshots.

  • I have been doing this and other training skills since i was 6. it really does affect how you play.

  • @prete0990 lol and how can you be so sure? lmao

  • how the hell am i gona get betta at slapinit if i dont have 1 of does bars...??

  • Since a slap shot relies on one movement done with max power it would be wise to train for max strength first and then conversion to power. In the max strength phase I would do this for no more than 5 reps with a heavy weight. Then I would switch to a lighter weight with as explosive a movement as I could do. There would be little need for power-endurance with this since most hockey players only take one slapshot at a time....it's not something that is done repetitively. Good exercise tho...

  • dudes a fuckin tool

  • when do you ever use your wrist in a slap shot??? wow, thats a sweet neckalce he has though...he get that at the age of 9 from grandma?

  • Not impressed. When you shoot there is force into the ice with the stick. Most of the force comes from your lats. Doing rotation exercises is not end all and be all of a hard shot. Get strong and I guarantee your shot will get harder. That stick will actually screw up your mechanics. Just like the skating treadmill will screw up an advanced players skating mechanics.

  • i actually believed what you wrote until you compared it to the skating treadmill screwing up mechanics. if you use the skating treadmill strictly for conditioning, yes, it will hinder your skating mechanics. but i found that working on my mechanics on the treadmill in addition to doing cardio days actually improved my stride. as long as you do it with a skating coach then you are fine, not some of the bums who have no hockey experience and think they are qualified to coach you on the treadmill.

  • why can't you go out and shoot?

  • Couldn't a stick company just make a hockey stick that weighs a ton (say 25 pounds or so) and have players train with that?

  • yeah theres this thing called "heavy metal hockey" and its a 5 pound stick

  • @Thricemaster where could i get myself one?

  • i dont think that would help players with the flex though, but that would help the core, but why not just work on the core. you can do similar, in fact almost identical, core workouts to this in a good gym or even at home

  • Ya or an attachment that's like the shaft of a stick instead of that round thing.

  • You can fill your composite with sand if you want.

  • @AmericanYokel i dont think it will be a good way to train , because the more you practice the more you will get stronger and the more you get stronger the more you will need to change / buy a new training stick each time , it is easier to train with that kind of stuff , so you can arrange the weight by yourself . sorry for bad english !

  • @AmericanYokel

Yea you can also slip dumbell weights onto a stick. Using a weighted puck as well helps a lot.

  • @AmericanYokel Yeah but then that would hurt your form so its not neccecarily a good idea

  • that looks tiring as hell! but i bet it works well too.

  • Wow, a really nice way to train for your shots!

  • Yes!... Its hooked to a cable column. The Core Bar can also be plate loaded.

  • is that hooked to anyweights
