Hey Beau, thank you! You haven't subscribed to me yet! I've made a fair amount of videos since the one from the scenery contest, so you could check them out as well in the travel and diving playlists.
This one I made during our holiday in Egypt last month.
Yes, I it's ok for snorkeling. One time some water got into the housing, but the camera was perfectly ok. I can also open the housing up and let water drops get in, without worrying about the camera. That's one of my motives for getting this camera. :-) I used the housing at a maximum depth of 31 meters.
Absolutely amazing! This looks so professionally done. I have a feeling you do this for a living don't you. I wish I knew your secret for getting those shots to be so smooth and steady. Your video definitely makes me want to go dive the Red Sea now. So much sea life, such great visibility. Was this all shot in one days worth of dives? Oh and how is your battery life with your new camera?
Thank you! I don't do this for a living, the shots that real professionals make are much more stable and have more colour in them because they use red filters. My 'secret' for steady shots is not using the really shaky shots. :) I also slow most of them down a bit with video editing software. In some dives we were going along with the current, which allowed me to just hang in the water and record without shaking. This video is a compilation of multiple dives, so these are some of the best shots.
I can use one battery for two dives in most cases. When we made three on a day I used my spare battery, and I ran out of power during the end of one second dive. But I'm still very satisfied with this camera. I took the shots above water with a real video camera by the way. :) You should dive in the Red Sea some time, but I think you also have options closer to home, like the Caribbean, right?
Great tips... thanks.. unfortunately most of my shots are all shaky. I just need to practice more I think. My battery lasts about the same as yours sounds like it. Well I love the style of you vids. I've experimented with slow motion using AE. Maybe I will utilize it a bit more with my next vid. Keep up the awesome videos. You a huge inspiration!
wow, so clear!! and some amazing shots!!...I particularly liked those fish at 1.35...the turtle being filmed at 2.32 and the diver with the light behind him at 2.49 : -)

Thank you! I used a Panasonic Lumix FT-1 (aka TS-1) with underwater housing below the surface and a Canon HF10 above water.

Thank you. :) That diver at 2:49 is my diving buddy, she is turned into a silhouette by the sun in that shot.
