  • Mrmonkeymans, I think you should put an epilepsy warning at the start of this vid...

  • I wish there was a Dreamcast N64 comparison video

  • I could have SWORN I've seen this series on the DS...no?....

  • @timelessviolet You're thinking of Bangai-O Spirits.

  • I know that there are a lot of differences between the DC and N64 versions, but are the levels themselves different?

  • I didn't realize the N64 could handle so many on screen sprites at once. Now it makes me question why sprite games always tried to limit the amount of sprites on screen. Sure having that many on screen will slow the game down though.

  • Lawl. Impossible danmaku. XD I was expecting the game to freeze or something.

  • This is one of my favorite Bangaioh levels on the N64.

  • Sweet, do you prefer the N64 one to the DC one?

  • The Dreamcast version is my favourite by far.

  • Seems Treasure will be reintroducing the fruit-gathering mechanic to the DS version (SUPPOSEDLY, there's still very little info about it on the net). I haven't played the N64 version, but I'd imagine this would slow the gameplay pace somewhat. Hope they make the fruit appear in abundance.

  • Yeah if you watch the trailer for the DS you can see that collecting fruit fills the special bar up again.

The Special is like the DC version though, it just has a 100 max instead of 400.

When you tap it on the DS 20 missiles shoot out of you, if there are enemy bullets near you, you can get a max of 100 missiles that shoot from you.

What is new is that you can see exactly how many missles will come out before you let go.

  • In the 64 version it would tell you up to the max you can charge up to, but it wouldn't say how many extra would be released until after you let go.

The DC version shows you the number of missiles after you let go of it also.

There is no guessing in the DS version.

  • Awesome.
