It's too bad they never had Cheetah on the TV series. It would have been a good early role for Morgan Fairchild. They did have Lynda Day George as a strong female Nazi and Christine Belford as comic character Baroness Paula Von Gunther, but Cheetah would have been better.

@hydrolito Wonder Woman from the 'Golden Age' comics, 'Super Friends' cartoon & the Lynda Carter tv show could not fly. She has evolved since then. During the 'Silver Age' comics she got a reboot by George Perez that many consider to be the best version of Wonder Woman to this day. Her origin changed and her story relied more on Greek mythology. At birth, she was granted several powers by different gods. The gift of flight was one of them. (look up Wonder Woman on Wikipedia for more info)

@shogun003 actually that version of Wonder Woman couldn't fly. It was only later she was allowes to 'glide on air currents' then, after Crisis and her revival in the mid 80's she was given the power of flight. :)

As for "gliding on air currents", Hermes granted her the gift of flight at birth in issue #1 & WonderWiki says, "Diana can mystically defy the laws of gravity and propel herself through the air to achieve flight. She is capable of flying at speeds approaching half the speed of light." I've never heard of anyone "gliding" at half the speed of light...lol. :D Sorry, just trying to be funny again. ;p

As I understand it (never read the early stuff) the original WWII Wonder Woman used the jet, then later on she had the ability to glide on air currents (like hanggliding without gear I guess) then when Perez took over she got full on flight.

The movie is slated for release in 2013. However, althought I was waiting for it, Im not happy now because have been confirmed that the villain will be a an entirely new one, and I hoped that it would be Cheetah, because she is her archenemy.

@frlac40: A variation on Cheetah did show up in a later season episode, only this character could control ants, who then used them to cause a building to collapse. She was a mad ecologist like the later version of Cheetah.
