    DJ Krush

Fat Jon The Ample Soul Physician

    Nomak

    Nujabes

    TOKiMONSTA

    Force Of Nature

    ♥♫♪(((d-__-b)))♪♫♥

  • That woman talking was DJ Shadow then-girlfriend, now-wife Lisa Haugen. Nice to see her get involved.

  • my favorite song on the album

  • This tune is f*cking mint

  • cool as fuck how the toms are used as the kick...such a good feeling this song gives glad i found shadow

  • i can smell sound

  • @TheDemand24 synesthesia :)

  • @TheDemand24 is alice at yours too?!

  • What a rareity, every song on this album is mind blowing i need to take soul insurance out, you just don't get that these days!! WOW!

  • This song is incredible, probably the best on the album. He's got work on a song on one of Handsome Boy Modeling School's albums which is also stellar.

  • This song + acid... just saying...

  • 2:25 ' do you feel the darth vader" lol

Bought myself the deluxe edition a couple of months ago and I keep it locked away in a drawer, not even the sun can see it!

  • 1:04 ese sonido es de Björk-Possibly Maybe

  • Made a classic album out of trip-hop.. a revolutionary! dj album out of hip hop!... and It has never ever ever been topped.. this is not an album this is a story.. when you press play you're turning pages you just can't se them!!. Deepest DJ album in history. Totally groundbreaking. This is 1 white guy that broke ground more than eminem ever did or probably will!. WHERE IT COUNTS, the music!!... CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY NIGHTS i GOT LOST TO THIS DREAMSCAPE!

  • @playaeyez17 I totally agree with you on the Eminem part shadow was the real originator, this album crushes eminems entire catalog imo. And all the samples brought together to from this masterpiece is so beautiful like shadow said that all the people he sampled were like a pile of broken dreams, I think shadow made those dreams come true by making this album by bringing these obscure artist music back to life.

  • @tacosaucemafia stfu dick head it does not crush eminem

  • @tacosaucemafia I don't think it's Eminem you want to be comparing him with really. Eminem is a lyricist and rapper and Shadow makes sound scapes out of samples. If you compare him to anyone close to Eminem it should be Dr. Dre who Shadow actually thanks on the inlay.

  • I wish the fucking cunt I lent this album to would give it back.

  • @nineTnineTfour i like triplicate,Artifact and this time rest just big shame but 2011 album is awsome for me ,real shadow !!!!

  • wholegrain dougy!!!!

  • The Bjork sample makes this absolutely perfect.

  • Aaah this takes me back to 1996: LSD and graffiti.

  • @nineTnineTfour ye me too i like just triplicate and this time ,any others cd's of shadow are just masterpiece ,im big fan of shadow from years he is my number 1

  • brutal trip hop .. so deeeeeeeep

  • @plous222 i like your thinking

  • This is what my heart sounds like right now.

  • endtroducing to me is perfect music. when i really listen to how everything was sampled, and put together. it makes me question its existence. like how something so amazing can be, and how i hadn't found it till now...midnight in a perfect world on repea, a doobie, and lifes great..

  • other songs with this kind of drum tempo? not just by Shadow.

  • @MageAtYou try Amon Tobin's albums Supermodified, Bricolage, and Foley Room, also Portishead - Dummy, and Four Tet - Everything Ecstatic

  • @happymoi1 I think its funny that you typed "dude and a half"

  • do you feel like darth vader

  • @Zeepeli

    then i'm princess Leia

  • @seb666fuckers five feet under GRRRRRRRRRRR

  • @Zeepeli I was scared (i have to admit) at first....never had a cat before....hmmm.....

  • @Zeepeli

Funny you mention star wars. The first time I heard this song (particularly at the beginning of the song) I thought of Chewbacca!

  • This is fukkin trippy

  • 01:10

  • tairyhesticles - i love you in the most heterosexual way.

  • @nineTnineTfour yeah DJ Shadows probably my alltime favourite musician but theres tons of other great stuff too.

  • @happymoi1 yes you are correct, i hear it as well

  • "ninedeee six gon b dat yurrrr"...-

(I&I believe : a line/quote from Outkast- in that year-....if not well then....happy hallows eve. go up to sleepy hollow, ny. Support the Union.DJ Shadow does )

  • I am 20 years old and feel fucking disgusted I had never come across this artist before. But I'll make it up, Endtroducing is now one of my all-time favorite records.

  • @MrVesanique

Better late than never man. Im so happy my sister had the right taste in music to buy entroducing when it came out when I was only 12 years old and introduce DJ Shadow to me... Now I'm 25 and it still gives me chills man. The type of music you will never tire of.

  • @nineTnineTfour Man, if DJ Shadow is ALL you listen to, then you are missing out on A LOT of other great and likewise inspiring music. I mean Shadow is awesome, but there's other great shit out there.

  • i Didnt know about that album with the Cape kid, I saw a pic of the cover once. I only new of Entroducing, Pre emptive strike and private press, what is this newer one? its no good? thats sad :(

  • For some reason 1:13 to 1:20 is such an incredible part for me.

  • @cb9603

That part makes my fucking soul cry. The music playing softly and melodic, coupled with the girl's upwards and playful inflection in her voice make me feel like I'm in the womb again, hearing peoples voices from the outside, completely safe from the danger of worries in the world.

Sorry if that was lame haha, DJ Shadow forever

  • i heard this in a music video for fightclub and got hooked its brillaint as a peice of music..... if it does sample it does do it well though.

  • 2:02

DJ's take note: This is the most opportune moment to drop *ANYTHING* in a set.

  • a sacrificed a life in paradice for livin like a parasite.

now i rise like farenhite im afraid the para might

destroy me life like dynamite.. im sly in spite of my own life

now im stuck in whole, its a sad site

the rate race has taken me home back to the mad shite

  • A really hypnotic, beautiful piece of music.

  • Pretty sure another sample that's used is from KMFDM's "Help Us/Save Us/Take Us Away." The noise heard around 2:26 (and many other times) in "Mutual Slump" is from the 4:36 mark in "Help Us/Save Us/Take Us Away."

  • @nineTnineTfour i believe its spelled ENDTRODUCING

  • Probably my favorite Shadow song

  • my religion is djshadow.

  • He used the Bjork sample very well

  • Comment removed

  • classic beat!!!!

    amazing!!

  • @nineTnineTfour hmm agree but 1 more good song Artifact, I mean I love it thats all

  • is that sound from a bjork song that starts at 1:06 ?

  • The drums...THE DRUMS

  • @WannaTradePants You said it! he´s so insanely good with the drums!!

  • @happymoi1 , yup, you are correct on all accounts!

  • dude you have a epic name!:DD

  • one of the best albums ive ever listened to

    fucking perfect

  • I like preemetive strike and endtroducing and private press...the outides has 2 good songs..artifacet and broken levee blues...

  • My brother's got the CD

  • @rferrio boogie nights came out in 1997! So how u figure that?

  • the songs called mutual slump as in a shared stated of depression but to me it really sounds more like accidental love. like "oh yeah me too we should go out some time" and this would play on your casual date as the two of you have a great time on the town just wondering around. but thats just my opinion.

  • "Why I came to America? Saw Xanadu... and that's all I wanted to do. Roller-skate." *Enter amazing scratch break*

  • most awesome sampling ever!

  • My friends used to say the effects in this song sounded like Chewbacca when I would play it, but whatever, its a good song.

  • This was his best album!

  • i love this song

  • very good

make u think about everything in your life

  • His first album and by a country mile his very finest LP work. Will soon be buying this for the 3rd time. I just hope the last POS I last lent it to is still enjoying it.

  • Should have given him The Outsider. Lol.

  • @TairyHesticles haha.

  • @TairyHesticles You got that right!

  • @rob57uk yeah first albums are generally the best although there are some exceptions when artist grow and change rather than trying to replicate the first

  • @rob57uk

Preemptive Strike is just as good.

    In\Flux... and WDYSLL. Nuff said.

  • the drums and intro are Pugh love love love. Pretty much untouched and looped then broken down on the mpc

  • love the bjork sample

  • does he play drums

each song has a crazy drum tune to it

  • im sure every decent producer has to have some idea of how to play the drums.

  • Comment removed

  • DJ Shadow is plain sick with drums.

  • ABSINTHE " MORE" ! ;-)

  • The known samples include:

"Possibly Maybe" by Björk (of course the mellow-hypnotic main melody)

"Love, Love, Love" by Pugh Rogefeldt (Drums)

The woman talking is Olivia newton fro the musical "Xanadu"

"More Than Seven Dwarfs in Penis-Land" by Roger Waters & Ron Geesin (the end chant that starts @ 3:41)

  • Remember when VH1 used to play that Bjork music for the intro to their early morning video show?

Thats the organ sample shadow sampled for this track.

  • abslutly dath vader & miles davis' 70

  • I love this album. I have to buy it again since somebody broke into my car and stole my CD case and and the album was in it. But this song was my favorite on this CD. I think this was his best beat.

  • I've never owned the album itself, but I've never heard a bad song from this album, every single song is incredible, I'd be sad to lose this album if I had it. I'd chase the thief down and beat him to death

  • They still sell this on stores. I bought mine in september of 2008.

  • Well yeah, but still

  • I got the vinyl for $12 a while ago. I'm pretty sure it's still around that price too. I think it is quite the bargin. I paid $28 for Massive Attack's Blue Lines vinyl and $26 for the Beastie Boy's Paul's Boutique vinyl reissue. Endtroducing is just as great as those two classic albums in my opinion.

  • I still can't belive Dj Shadow sampled the musical Xanadu, insane but it works so well

  • "all i wana do is roller skate!" For you djs out there mix this song with Blackalicious' Blazing Arrow. Beats go together like peanut butter and jelly.

  • god damn i got the munchys

  • "do you feel like darth vader?"

  • "and all i want to do, is roller skate"

"im scaired i have to admit at first, never been in a cab before"

or is it. never had a cat before?

    lol idk

    GREAT TUNE!!!

  • Yea his newest effort is garbage. The song Broken Levee Blues on that album is great though.

  • levee blues owwnnnss...do you know who is playing the guitar on that song?

  • He also samples the rock legend Pugh Rogefeldt. Check him out! Search for "Love love love - Pugh"

  • fav. for sure

  • insane beat
