Nice jumping rear mount! Now I know what I need to work on with my gelding. I'm sure he'd be okay with a tarp, but not a tarp + wind + unforeseen thing patting rump + unforeseen person doing and Indian mount! I would already be dead if I tried that with him.

Amazing...... If I tried that with my Crystal, with the tarp on her, I can only imagine the hysterical theatrics that would ensue, it would be flying hooves and blue tarp.... it would NOT be pretty!! That horse obviously has had some time and effort put into her. Excellent job! I love to see people that can get their horses to do just about anything! Although, I would be scared to stand on the back of a horse with a tarp. Even on a dead broke one like Lucy. Kudos to the brave lady and Lucy!

That is what my Dad use to call Bomb proof!~ My dad could do the same kinds of things with Beauty Girl. Wave a flag in her face no problem, firetruck blare its horn, unfazed, dog under her belly, "what dog" (Thats not a dog thats a pony in a dog costume!), come near the box with his baby daughter inside whole 'nother story !

Just a little warning here... It looks sweet to take your horse in a pond and make him swim but keep in mind that NOT ALL HORSES CAN SWIM. I know this for a fact. I spent time at Sunny Halo's pool at Hollywood Park racetrack and the horses were not always swimmers. If I were to take a horse in a pond for the first time I would have someone on shore with a long line ready to yank him back to where he had footing.

Hooray! That ranch has superb no-nonsense training for its horses. Yes, the horse and the rider are excellent and fearless, but I think that we we see in that video is the trainer. The horse provides the definition of the word unflappable. "See, that's unflappable. Tarp flaps, horse does not."

Based solely on what we see in that video and the Valley View Ranch website, I would have to recommend them as a number 1 place to find a good horse. Someone apparently bought Lucy, but they have others.
