Bless Troy and his intense vocal skill while playing a not so simple bass line at the same time!! Because the acoustic prep of the show didnt help! Was the sound techs' training based solely on Nirvana\SPumpkins?! Where's the guitar distortion filtering? Where are Branns snaredrum and basskick? Reduced only to the attack sound of harder strokes? Troy looks like he can barely hear his own voice through the monitor return. Thank the usual brilliant performers for saving this brilliant performance!

Over the years its become clear that Mastodon are master song writers and live entertainers. Though, their weak points have always been vocals. Even though on the album they can re-do their parts untill they sound great. With that said, this is the best ive heard them sound live vocally.

Proven last night as I stumbled upon Mastodon by chance as I was switching the TV off. Just turned it up and stood slack jawed for 3.5 minutes. Can't believe I haven't heard this lot before, they look and sound like they have nothing to prove, totally cool.
