  • Kumran is dry.

yes...well it is in the middle of the desert!

  • 3:22 Humprey came.

  • Original,witty and brilliantly portrayed.

  • Seriously, people can't handle 5 hours without a drink? You deal with it, then bugger off back to your hotel and then get smashed.

  • Five hours on orange juice is an emergency.

  • Great series! And you don't need to be interested in policy to enjoy it!

  • The funniest thing is that this actually happened (the communication room with alcohol)...

  • Yep... shows you who many African leaders learnt from.

  • I love this show. X3

  • LOL! This is funny watching this episode from 1981.............back when we had better relations with the Arabs. Of course today this episode would not be broadcast............its just not PC and borderline racist. Still piss funny though! (communications room...........lol!)

  • @stegatops

I saw it first time in 82, if I remember, broadcasted by Yugoslavian television. The clips posted here are from 2006, when the whole serie been broadcasted by Romanian "Cultural TV" channel. However, I'm still wondering how so many things are still true today, after almost 30 years.

  • @trotica: It's been true for thousands of years. ;)

  • @trotica I am sure people the likes of Humphrey have been walking the halls of power, since the sumarian started building zigurats.

  • @stegatops

it's based on something that happened "somewhere in South Asia" in the early 70s.

  • @stegatops Better relations? They weren't better, they were just split between hating America and hating Russia.

  • In which language are the subtitles? It seems either Dutch or Romanian to me. What do you all think?

  • Yes (minister), it's romanian :) Romanian television usually use subtitles instead of voice-over, people likes to hear the original sound.

  • @mlovecraftr Look at the amount of consecutive vowels, and at the abundance of diacritic signs under and over the letters: that's Romanian. Dutch hardly has diacritic accents; it rather has large amounts of consecutive consonants.

  • @Wilbtube consecutive vowels?

  • @InnocenceExperience vowel = a,e,i,o,u. Consecutive means that they are put directly after each other. like in words like: "ai taiat, cei, noastra"

  • @Wilbtube lol I know what a vowel is. You said Dutch has a large amount of consecutive consonants. I was asking if you meant consecutive vowels because what stood out to me was the consecutive vowels. Sorry I wasn't clear. Nice explanation though :-)

  • But, it is based on a Pakistan visit of Wilson according to the soruces who narrated this incident to the authors.

  • its was visit to gulf as mentioned in video, not pak..

  • and what is "gulf"? iraq, iran or what?

  • @mlovecraftr

In gulf area oil rich countries reside. mostly western countries are interested with them because oil, major countries are saudi arabia, uae, qatar kuwait

  • This is no fake idea, it really happened in the 70´s!

  • I believe it took place in the 60's in the administration of Wilson when they visited Pakistan.

    All the drinking is accurate.

  • Minister--that is a...stroke of genius! LOL!

  • paired to the bone! :P

  • Why are you here?

Purely my sense of duty-free, Minister.. LOL!!
