  • @vargur paracheirodon simulans is the blue neontetra paracheirodon axelrodi is indeed the cardinal tetra paracheirodon innesi is the neontetra, like the fish in this video, they have white bellys, cardinal tetras have red bellys.

  • This is great.

I want to make a Paracheirodon Simulans biotope.

And this will help me very much.

    Tnx for this.

  • Paracheirodon simulans is the Green Neon Tetra

    Paracheirodon axelrodi is Cardinal Tetra

Paracheiron innesi is the Cardinal Tetra

the fishes in this video look like Cardinals.

and the title is wrong. :)

But its a nice video showing the beautiful Cardinals

    in its natural habitat.

  • these are definitely cardinal tetras, the red lien extends all the way to the front

  • these are definitely neon tetras, the red lien does not extend all the way to the front.

  • Hi!

The title of the video is wrong. There are no Neon Tetra, what you can see are Red Neon Paracheirodon axelrodi

  • Very nice I got some neon tetra but they are small these one are bigger and the place is very nice...

  • Cool

  • great

  • its his own fish tank in a way.

  • qué lindo documento. gracias!!

  • what kind of plant is the one at 2:11 ??? it's wonderful!!

  • What are those greenish fishes swiming among the neons at 0:45 ?

  • @Peak1RA leopard dianos i think

  • I sort of feel bad keeping them in an aquarium after seeing their natural habitat.

  • Buenazo tu video my friend !!!

  • ah man, ive got a neon tetra and its one year old. it was my only fish and so it ate alot..and now, its a monster! almost as big as my baby cory catfish!

  • @roxsobad7 u've kept only one neon tetra, lol, i was advised by the guy to buy atleast 10, cuz they need to stay togather, i played it safe and bought 30 lol

  • LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY.... seems like heaven on earth!!!

  • really nice work going on....

  • walmart charges over 2bucks a piece for neon tetras

  • @therealrockondon they only cost .95 cents over here in the Netherlands. I rather have humanity grow up and only sell tropical fish bred from captive stock, stopping the 'plunder' from nature. Why is it never enough, why humans always have this urge to want yet another new species? What humans seek truly? Deep down perhaps we lack the ability to be content with what we have, recognizing what is there, and respecting it, being thankful.

  • @TheOneAndOnlyMichel i think there pretty fish

  • @therealrockondon don you old fag hater what you doing making a fool outta yourself for Again ?

  • @therealrockondon trying to start more shit don this time in my own home town how brave

  • what they eat in the wild? they eat the natural fish flakes that fall from the trees... right? :P

  • awesome!

  • awsome!

  • what are those fishes with the black tail?

  • My dream is to win the EURO MILHÕES and go to venezuela to by a land and breed the Cardinal Tetras ......

  • @MsMartinsguilherme i kinda want to do that... but live breeding dram cichlids or angelfish (altum)

  • I've always wondered why these fish are so brightly colored, seems counterproductive in a predator-prey situation

  • Awesome job!

  • That is a beautiful creek, both above and below the surface. I wonder, do you know if they have transplanted those grassy red plants to the aquarium trade?

  • Ah yes the black water myth in the aquarium hobby. The green tint in the water is proof the creek is mineral rich and not black water. The amazon river has so many branches and fingers full of different water types. 6.5 is my guess on this lagoons ph. I have successfully kept so called soft water fish in a high ph environment for years.

  • Não deixem que estes lindos peixes dezapareçam da natureza....PROTEJAM A NATUREZA......

  • The turquoise tinge to the water is NOT green water; it's indicative of mineral-rich water. Don't believe me? Well, how do you account for the luxuriant growth of aquatic vegetation then? So, green neons aren't truly a blackwater species afterall... that's a relief. Perhaps a biotope loosely based on these "pozos" isn't such a bad idea afterall...

  • @ Stabesy - They ARE Neons, you arse! Green Neon Tetras (Paracheirodon Simulans). They have little to no red on their lower body. Look again, you wanker! You must be going "blind" from all that wanking of yours!

  • whats the silver fish with the black on their tails?

  • neons my arse, stupid wanker. translate that.

  • Those would be Paracheirodon axelrodii...Cardinals not Neon Tetras.

  • it aint simulans, it looks cardinal tetra

  • If I had a place like that I would be satisfied with life, I would not ask for anything else. He is a very lucky man.

  • This is heaven!

  • that video is making me feel like i am ill treating my neon tetras living in my 2ft tank.

  • They are not Neon Tetras but Cardinal Tetras.

  • can some frexwater fish expert tell me a kind of tetra that can eat a little mouse ?

  • @foroeste1 Piranha!

  • no son tetras cardenales(Paracheirodon axelrodi )?? el simulansis no tiene nada de rojo...

  • Did you dive to record that?

  • thats my fish tank, jk

  • what do they eat in the wild??

  • You can see what they eat in our freshwater natural Aquarium Documentary. You can get it at.aquatic-experts . com

  • @fishfromvenezuela can u give us a direct answer???????

  • @MrBettafishy flake food

  • i well love to take some of that water and put it in my aquarium

  • Oh my goodness, what a beautiful ecosystem.

  • these are green neon tetras i think

  • thats why i want to go to brazil just to see small creeks like that which house fish that many people see in there aquarium (i think i spelt that wrong hahah XD)

  • que maravilloso lugar y me encantaron esas plantas acuaticas

  • awesome!

  • What an Awesome clip!

  • man the best 2.00 ever ive spent

  • omg they come from amzon. u learn somethin new every day. ZOOM! THEY SOOO PRETTY!!

  • those look like Cardinal Tetras not Neon Tetras

  • @vqfive I beg to differ the red on the stomach of the cardinals is much more prominent

  • @vqfive They don't look like Cardinal Tetra's, they ARE Cardinal Tetra's.. Neons have a white belly, but the red stripe on the Cardinal goes all the way to it's backfin, like on the video.

  • @vqfive yeah the blue stripe is a lot thicker than a neon's.

  • @vqfive there are actually both species in there, neon tetra and cardinal tetra, because they look a lot alike, they actually get together, like if they were just one species :D

  • @vqfive I believe those are Green Neon Tetras and Cardinal Tetras, with some other Tetra species. Green Neon and Cardinals live together in some areas in Orinoco River. and it's not a surprise that you can also find Blue Neon Tetra with them.

  • @vqfive looks like noob. pause at 2:42 it's neon

  • @vqfive 02:42-02:44 Its neon, and its very easy to see even though they live in dark water.

  • @vqfive there were cardinal tetras but they were also neons in there to.

  • @vqfive those are Green Neon Tetras not Cardinal Tetras

  • fantastic! I wish everyone were like this!

  • Yeah relax I did all that

    that's y I'm asking

  • K so I just got five tetras and they are getting fed just fine but two have already died what should I do?

  • @ninjapotato5 Did you just set up your tank? How large is it? Did you cycle it beforehand? When you first set up a new tank you *MUST* cycle your tank or fish will be sick/die. What temperature is the water? Do you have a heater? What's the pH?

  • Neon tetras are small, with a tiny stomach and organs. During feeding times, they're often waiting for flakes to drop down to them, while other fish (like danios and guppies) are stealing most of the food at the top. This is a very common reason why neon tetras die. If you have neon tetras, make sure the flakes are crunched small. DO NOT give neons one large feeding a day because if they are timid and miss that 1 time, they will starve and become weak. Feed neons at least 2 or 3 times a day,

  • Never Knew they grow that big.

  • wow amazing, I Think they look like cardinal tetras

  • They look more like cardinal tetras

  • Thats awesome. Thats how we should always treat natural beautys of the world.

  • Paradise!

  • Does anyone know what the other tetras are swimming around between about 1:05 and 1:20? They're more silvery in appearance and have a black mark on their tail.

  • @metallicplatinum I think silvertip tetras

  • my neon tetras died the first night i made my aquariunm but they were doing fine before i went to sleep, is it possible that the bigger fish killed them ? i only have larger goldfish and some glofish....the aquarium is large and lots of free space, and theres no predatory type fish

  • Dont have neon tetras and gold fish together.......

  • The neons and goldfish do not mix well for several reasons, firstly the goldfish is a cold water fish, they don't like temperatures above ca 20C (68F) while the neons want about 25C (77F.) Mabey a compromise could be made at 22-23C (ca 72-73F) but this does not take care of the bigger problem. Goldfish grow! A goldfish can live for up to and above 30 years if cared for properly and grow to more than 40cm (15") and they WILL eat your tetras.

  • This is probably not what happened to you now, stress from moving them is more likely to have caused it, but remember that goldfish need cool nice water and lots of space as they grow. (This sounds to serious for youtube xD)

  • @hekma they are tropical not freshwater

  • @spacerocks1234

Tropical IS freshwater. It's just warm.

  • @111olbap Tropical refers to zones of latitude - and tropical can be any - brackish, fresh or salt (Marine).

  • im thinking of getting some after i put plants in the tank; aquascaping.

and also i need tips on how to maintain a tank when most of the gravel is covered with the plants.plz reply sumone....

  • There are plenty of resources online, google is your friend

  • So this is where my neon tetras came from. Very nice. :)

  • @TheCommanderNZ You only have one? Hopefully not... That would be horrible for the lone one...

  • No, I have about 14-15 at last count and one red nose tetra. Either the damn Discus keep eating them or this algee eater I bought that looks very similar to a shark.

  • angelic

  • there are a lot of green neon and cardinal tetras but never seen any neons..

  • looks like cardinal tetra to me

  • Lol, its not, is Green Neon( Paracheirodon simulans)

  • I love the tetras....

    All of them!!!

  • el pozo de los neon es hermosisisisisisimo

  • that is so beautifull!

  • Great video. Love to see the fish i have in their natural habitat.

  • Nice informative video. Great fish!

  • I might be getting some of these if my lady gives me permission... if I ask nicely, do you think she'll give me my balls back? lol

  • Lovely fish that guy has in his creek!!

  • im geting these for my wee tank, and one algae eater....it wont eat them will it/

  • algae eaters should be fine with tetras avoid chinese algae eaters as they get big and eat slime of flat sided fish., tetras are to quick for most fish to catch anyway

  • God, breeding these things are hard. I don't mean to be offensive but could someone please PM with tips on breeding. I have 8 neon tetras and 2 serpae tetras. Someone please tel me how to breed both. I need information such as ideal water temperature, changes in diet, as well as breeding tanks.

  • I have a question. wha is that red reed plants? (showing at 1:30)

plz someone tell me the name of them, and how can I get them

    is it impossoble?

  • cool

  • Regardless of what fish these are, i have some neon tetra's. The food they don't eat sinks to the bottom & is virtually impossible to get out. it wasnt a great deal, but is this dangerous for my tank. I have no bottom feeders

  • try some cory cats or loaches < like the yoyo or clown

  • Thanks for your reply, i have resolved my problem with different food & i have more species in my tank now, so its all good!

  • get some pepered corys.

  • Its soo beautiful!

  • Awesome

  • definitely looked more like cardinals than neons

  • Also some scissor tail Rasbora in there. I used to have 4.

  • blue neon tetra - paracheirodon simulans

red neon tetra - paracheirodon axelrodi

inesa neon tetra - paracheirodon inesi

  • It are cardinal tetras....

  • lol whos the idiot translating?

  • I don't think those are neons, they look kinda more like cardinal tetras.

  • Those vid are so amazing ;)

Where can i get the dvd?

  • P. simulans isn't the latinname for the neon tetra! :-O

  • he also says thet thay also used clorine,so the fish has no oxigen to breath .after that they eat the big, and live everithing dead and go home.

  • Yeah, pretty cool, thanks for this find my friend!

  • that was the coolest vid ever

  • afe

  • in my creek we just get snotty algae and mosquito larvae...

  • Horrible translator.

There is alot of information that the translator is not telling us.

  • Just beautiful. As a Canadian, we don't get to see tropical fish in their natural habitat. We just see them in the pet store. Thanks for posting!

  • heal the world :)

  • Any idea about the plants? I´m trying to build this biotope in a tank, so I need facts!

  • 0:42 -0:49

great camera work, i thought i was swimming in there!

  • They could be Neons.

The standard neons you see in pet stores are typically amazonian P. innesi.

The species listed here, P. simulans have a much bolder, brighter, longer neon stripe

  • Those are definitely Cardinals. Neons are not that beautiful. If you pay attention you can they are much brighter than neons and the red stripe goes all along the body. They look larger than Neons too.

I worked with both species on a daily basis and have kept cardinals and neons for years. heck I just bought another school of them today when I saw them and noticed we had cardinals. Those are most definitely cardinals without a shadow of a doubt.

  • what are some tight school tetras? Like tetras that will school 24/7

  • Harlequin Rasboras.

  • They are DEFINITELY cardinals at the start

  • They look like cardinals and not neons.

  • 2 questions: what are the other fish schooling with the neons (with the yellow+black tails)?

what is that red reed that grows under the water?

  • It is very cool to see where the fish that are sitting in a tank in you room are originally coming from.

  • those are cardinals look at the red stripe that goes along all the way along the blue stripe

  • It's awesome to see where the Neon Tetras come from...

I wish that was my tank.

  • Very interesting.

  • Oddly, that is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time.

  • they look more like cardinals to me.

  • you heard wrong

  • No of course not, neons have been a staple of the aquarium hobby for nearly 100 years.

  • hey oonki open ya fuckin eyes and you can see the neons swimmin around all over the place ya stupid prick

  • Those are cardinal tetras, not neon tetras...

  • some of them do look like cardinals...not sure if they are though.

  • It's impossible to tell by this video, you know the only difference is that cardinals have the red stripe going all the way down their body rather than half way?

  • I'm very well aware of that. By "not sure" I referred to the blurriness.

  • i agree, the first shots kinda look like cardinals, but later on they definitely look like neons. too hard to tell for sure though on the first shot. great video regardless eh.

  • Wow, cool! I've never seen these things in their wild life!

  • Very rarly some of my neon tetras get a growth or white thing around there mouths, is it a dieses or injury? They dont die from it and it eventually gos away i wonder what it is.

  • its called mouth rot.

  • south america must be beautiful

  • beautifull piece of nature !!!

  • Wow, I wanna be there, see a Knifefish!

  • We are one of the few people in the world which offer expeditions so you can snorkle with them in their natural habitat.

  • Id love that. Its my dream.

  • Damn. If I was there I'd be catching those bastards!

  • @fishfromvenezuela: What kind of Bryconops is swimming there, the fish with the black and yellow coloration on the upper tailfin. Please tell me!

    Great vid btw.

  • Acestrorynchus (probabbly falcatus or microlepis)

  • Thanks for the reply, but i meant the schooling fish, only there upper tailfin have the black and yellow pattern. Is it the Bryconops Giacopini?

There is hardly any information about this species on the internet. What can you tell me about it, is this the Giacopini, or are there various of other look a likes?

I Hope you can enlighten me!

  • Its hard to tell exactly what species it is for there are many species that look alike here in venezuela (have the same coloration patern). I would lie If I told you exactly which it is without counting the rays, scales, etc.

  • Thats awesome!

I'm glad this guy knows what he's doing.
