@linxonia. A very good point. But see since we can't earn forgiveness, it's by God's amazing grace that we are set free from sin. Because, and I say this from my own experience, before we ask forgiveness from God we CAN'T truly forgive ourselves. But Thank God Almighty that He HAS forgiven us! And because of that we can show his boundless love to others!

I realize that the reference to Judas in this song brings up questions, but no one mentioned in this song deserved to be blessed. In fact, if we could take a step back and see how many times WE betray Jesus in our daily lives, we would definitely be ashamed, but it's not about what we see when we look at ourselves. Thank God, it's what HE sees. That's the beauty of Grace, and that's what this song is about.

@UberJohnjay5 I don't think Christ would want us to think of eachother that way. Sure we make mistakes and hurt Jesus in our sin, but Jesus calls for us to forgive ourselves and ask for that same forgiveness from Him. The beauty of Grace is God's guidance in our daily lives, to be there to strengthen us. The whole journey is about preparation to be with Him, yet we are still His precious children. I will always keep that with me :)

I would tend to agree with  avalonrules comment that the lyrics are referring that Judas had an opporunity to be forgiven, but others would say that Judas was created for the purpose of betraying Jesus, but this verse says that hell is where he belongs: Acts Chp 1:25.. from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place

When it says "Blessed are you with your silver and lies kissing the One who's saving your life", is that referring to Judas or someone else? Because Judas wasn't exactly blessed (or saved)...

@avalonrules I know what you are saying but I take it as though He is speaking to each one at the moment it is happening. In other words, Judas could have had the same opportunity to repent and change as Peter did had he not killed himself. His betrayal was no more unforgivable than Peter's denial. Don't know if that is what the writer meant, but just a thought.

I guess it's for all the people who becomes traitor for money's sake, Judas is discreetly used as the representation. :D OR MAYBE, Judas is blessed because he was part of the prophecy BUT he is not saved for he committed suicide..

@iSachihiro Please be assured that there is no sin which can separate us from Jesus once we are saved. Judas is in hell NOT because he killed himself, but because he was never saved to begin with. How can I be sure? Because the bible tells us that satan was IN Judas. Luke 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot being of the number of the twelve. ( Satan can not enter where the Holy Spirit dwells. Satan can not live in a heart which belongs to Jesus.)

I stand corrected... He was not saved in the first place, read John 6:70 "Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?"... I guess that ends the argument whether Judas was saved or not :D

@avalonrules I absolutely agree with you. I wonder about Judas. How could someone so close to Jesus, be so blind. It's interesting, Paul, formerly Saul of Tasus, was blinded by God and he took the place of Judas as the 12th apostle.
