Yes, but if he can transmit that many watts with a wireless transmitter then that in it self is amazing, MIT has tried it and barley lit 1 light bulb, plus the loss was insane.

The best frequency depended on the position of the ferrite rod. I believe the resonant frequency of the coil with the ferrite was around 140Khz.
