Haven't seen gundam seed destiny in ages but for some reason this song popped up in my head today so I searched it on here and this is the first full version video that came up, it was very well done for being a strictly meer amv, thanks for uploading this. :-P

GS and GSD has is one of the sadest anime I ever saw. Even the song they put it with are sad. This is the only anime I felt like crying ever time I hear the songs that showed sad moments.
At first, she was happy to be able to be like Lacus. Then she got to thinking the words the Chairman told her to say were her words and that she was Lacus. I find this to be sad. Made into a different person to benefit a selfish person, but loving and believing it. And thinking you're someone you're not
This was a very memorable episode. I cried after watching it. I never expected Meer to die. My idea of this series' ending with regard to the two Lacuses is that Meer would tell the world that she is a fake and etc. This was really tragic. I haven't watched any anime until now that is so dramatic like these. Some comments were right about this anime that the sad scenes or episodes outnumbered those funny and happy ones. I was as if watching a filipino soap opera when watching this. Great anime!
@IniaLurunSophie Funny, but I think it's actually the contrary, Durandal wants everything predestined and so he does with Meer, seeing her as a sacrifice if needed. The moral out of this anime is actually that things can change, that things don't need to end up badly. This is what Meer doesn't realise until her last episode. The saddest thing might be that she lives all her live under the false assumption that she is useless and needs to be like Lacus. Nothing is DESTINY IN GUNDAM SEED DESTINY.
@MaxxFrenchBoy Lady who was in charge got cancer and they canceled it to make the 00 movie. And now no one is going to do it because now their working on Gundam Age which is going to be new and they will comepletly forget about seed. And people who hate seed will spam everything that has to do with it and bitch so they can get movies for other things they like and leave Seed fans never see the movie. :/

I loved both series just really thought Shinn was a dick, I mean I was very sad for his origin but that sadness wore away over time as he treated everybody like crap.
Both Seed and Destiny series made me cry for joy and sorrow, i recommend both of the series to anyone who likes action, Drama, Romance, and ROBOTS FTW :)

@theholyrevenger It's not a movie, it's an entire series of 50 episodes (100 if you include both Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny). The original pink-haired girl is Lacus Clyne - an idol for PLANT, but when she disappeared ZAFT or PLANT got Meer Campbell, someone who had the exact same voice (and in fact voiced by the same seiyuu Tanaka Rie) to take Lacus's place, got her to undergo pplastic surgery so that she would look exactly like Lacus and can take her place completely.

But I've already briefly summarized the events. She took over as Lacus because she was a big fan, and she was singing Lacus's songs over the radio anyway. But Durandal heard her and found out that she sounded exactly like Lacus, so he arranged for her plastic surgery. That's how Meer ended up looking exactly like Lacus.
Destiny had great music, no question, and the philosophy underlying the plot was good too, but the way it completely let go of some characters (Cagalli comes to mind), warped others (Mu la Flaga should have stayed dead ) and oversimplified the ZAFT Earth Alliance War sucked!
This is a fantastic song, probably See-Saw's best, and it goes well with the Gundam series.
Question, though. I heard another version of this song four years ago where the tone and sound were lower-pitched and slightly more dramatic than this version. I have slaved away over and over trying to track it down, but I can't find it. Same song, but it was different from this. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, can you please point it out for me? Destiny wasn't bad except for ending which was corrected in final plus, you gotta look at it from a philosophical point of view. I hated it first time I saw it but after re watching it, it is good just a more complicated story.
Meer is a character that i love and hate. I hate her because she got too attached to being lacus. On the other hand, I love her innocence and wanting to be lacus for the right reasons - i.e. to help others

@SyrenniaLestrange - Yeah Destiny was pretty good but it had a different vibe to SEED and some scenes were too parrallel, however, it was another goo piece of work by sunrise. And yeah, I wanted more Yzak and Dearka! haha, I wonder how the Japanese came up with these funky names :P

@gucci13 Sunrise is working on a movie which is based 2 years after Gundam seed DESTINY, which means Kira and Athrun are 20 ! Its suppose to come out next year. It was suppose to be out way earlier but the creater had cancer and was really sick. Looking forward to it ! @Jeremypsp2006 I don't know i liked wing personally, i liked the totally convoluted storyline where no one, and i mean no one was the good guys for the most part. gundam pilots assonated the planetary leaders and waged private war on the government for the Colonys, Colonys abandon and turned their backs on the gundam, the military fractured into splinter and terror groups, gundam pilots splintered into different groups... was great because you never knew who was "right".
Can you believe how audacious GSD was? They decided to kill off one of the least important characters in the series as importance goes and then act like it was a super big deal. Meer could have been a noteworthy character. COULD have been. GSD sucked BALLLLLS.
In all likelihood it would've been better if she went with Athrun, but, what can you do? And yes, she really did want Lacus' life, in the English dub, that time at night, she said to Athrun, I'm Lacus Clyne, I am Lacus Clyne, I'm Lacus! I'd rather be her!
I think she really wanted to have Lacus's life, especially Athrun. She said so herself, it would be nice if someone like Athrun fell for her, that's why she almost went with him. Things could've ended better if she had gone with him during that night...it's so sad...and it's a cartoon. Only anime can bring so much life to characters like Meer that you almost forget they're not real...her story is still so tragic.
Sequels are rarely as good as the first one, let alone better, it does happen, but it's rare, still, Destiny wasn't totally horrible, not the greatest I've seen, but I've seen worse. But that statement could be applied to Lacus and Meer, Lacus the original and Meer the sequel. But, Meer was happy with what she was doing, she had no idea she was being used
The fall was weird, true, but, she was decent looking before the surgery, prettier after it cause it was plastic surgery, but, how lonely must it be? Dying not as yourself but someone else, I think Meer really died at the surgery, it was like she never existed, what a horrible sad fate, truly unfair to Meer. Seed was better on the whole, but Destiny is more thought provoking, but that's my opinion
@DivineWarriorAyra the problem i had with destiny was shin and the new cast being pushed aside in favor of the old already developed cast of seed. i wish there was more interaction between mu, murrue and kira. Also the ideaism the old cast had was wishy washy imo. Also making gil a "villian" was a mistake they made him out to be an evil person when truth was he wasnt it was just his ideals
I liked meer as a character, actually she is probably the only character I really liked during the whole series, but the death scene was really funky... she did a 360 spin and then fall, it was more funny than sad during that 2 seconds before she fell.
nah, the strike freedom is one of my favorite gundams.

Meer is a character that i love and hate. I hate her because she got too attached to being lacus. On the other hand, I love her innocence and wanting to be lacus for the right reasons - i.e. to help others

There is another version of this song, which sounds slightly lower-key than this. But I can't find it ANYWHERE on YouTube, but I know it exists. Best I can describe it, the version I'm thinking of plays at a lower tone than this one does. If anyone can point me to where it is, it would be a huge help, I've been looking everywhere for this other version I can't seem to find.

@rukiakisa122 Actually, this was a music video released in Japan, it's not an AMV, but an actual music video. Can't you tell by the MTV symbol in the top right corner and the kana at the bottom?

@SyrenniaLestrange - Yeah Destiny was pretty good but it had a different vibe to SEED and some scenes were too parrallel, however, it was another goo piece of work by sunrise. And yeah, I wanted more Yzak and Dearka! haha, I wonder how the Japanese came up with these funky names :P

@gucci13 Sunrise is working on a movie which is based 2 years after Gundam seed DESTINY, which means Kira and Athrun are 20 ! Its suppose to come out next year. It was suppose to be out way earlier but the creater had cancer and was really sick. Looking forward to it ! I like the sense of romance and the somewhat sappy
storyline. Gave a fresh overhaul of the series, something new
and yet at the same time familiar to Gundam Wing Fans. Agreed, the
ending was rushed and definitely not satisfying. The theme songs
were all excellent, highly motivating in their ability to bring forth emotion of
some kind. Was a good series overall, some flaws but nevertheless
still a gundam series.

@Jeremypsp2006 I don't know i liked wing personally, i liked the totally convoluted storyline where no one, and i mean no one was the good guys for the most part. gundam pilots assonated the planetary leaders and waged private war on the government for the Colonys, Colonys abandon and turned their backs on the gundam, the military fractured into splinter and terror groups, gundam pilots splintered into different groups... was great because you never knew who was "right".

Can you believe how audacious GSD was? They decided to kill off one of the least important characters in the series as importance goes and then act like it was a super big deal. Meer could have been a noteworthy character. COULD have been. GSD sucked BALLLLLS.

In all likelihood it would've been better if she went with Athrun, but, what can you do? And yes, she really did want Lacus' life, in the English dub, that time at night, she said to Athrun, I'm Lacus Clyne, I am Lacus Clyne, I'm Lacus! I'd rather be her!

I think she really wanted to have Lacus's life, especially Athrun. She said so herself, it would be nice if someone like Athrun fell for her, that's why she almost went with him. Things could've ended better if she had gone with him during that night...it's so sad...and it's a cartoon. Only anime can bring so much life to characters like Meer that you almost forget they're not real...her story is still so tragic.

Sequels are rarely as good as the first one, let alone better, it does happen, but it's rare, still, Destiny wasn't totally horrible, not the greatest I've seen, but I've seen worse. But that statement could be applied to Lacus and Meer, Lacus the original and Meer the sequel. But, Meer was happy with what she was doing, she had no idea she was being used

The fall was weird, true, but, she was decent looking before the surgery, prettier after it cause it was plastic surgery, but, how lonely must it be? Dying not as yourself but someone else, I think Meer really died at the surgery, it was like she never existed, what a horrible sad fate, truly unfair to Meer. Seed was better on the whole, but Destiny is more thought provoking, but that's my opinion

@DivineWarriorAyra the problem i had with destiny was shin and the new cast being pushed aside in favor of the old already developed cast of seed. i wish there was more interaction between mu, murrue and kira. Also the ideaism the old cast had was wishy washy imo. Also making gil a "villian" was a mistake they made him out to be an evil person when truth was he wasnt it was just his ideals

I liked meer as a character, actually she is probably the only character I really liked during the whole series, but the death scene was really funky... she did a 360 spin and then fall, it was more funny than sad during that 2 seconds before she fell.
