Dang i didnt know he ran 32 and 9. i had that set up for a while and couldnt stand it. it kills you. so i switched to 23 and 9 and that does ok but i just got a 2010 kink liberty and i run 25 and 9 now.

i dont think he is running a 9 on the back. they do make drivers or cogs that are 10, 11, 12, and 13 ya know. there would be no way he could ride that if it was a nine. i am running a 32/13. i feels really nice. i love it. i think medium sized sprockets are better. haha just my opinion

actually, if you paid any attention to Chase Hawk's riding you'l see that his tricks are super flow and super high speed instead of pointing out how there are bigger cogs than 9t, so i can understand why a pro like him would run 32/9, and no, it has nothing to do with the weight of the bike, alot of pro's like him just as stated in this vid don't weigh the bikes and are not concerned about weight.

dude, chase hawk was doing his tricks faster than any other rider on stay fit, like fucking 100mph lol he is all about speed and flow, 32/9 makes alot of sence with him, and besides he runs twombolt 180's so it is more leverage for peddling than on the 175's that most ppl run

Well, I tried to explain you some physics and mechanics but it doesn't fit in a 500 letters comment.

To make it simple, 25/9=2.7 32/11=2.9 32/9=3.5.

2.7 is normal bicycle ratio < 2.9 is ex racer riding freestyle (aka Hawk) ratio < 3.5 is not human, or dumbass ratio.

of all ppl i understand those values, but if you paid attention to other riders like Dakota Roche and Anthony Napolitin, you would see that they ride 28/9(3.1) so at the very least he rides 30/9(3.3). It is not impossible. again longer cranks(180's) make the job a little easier
