Please don't compare this to SPAM or think it's generic. It's an excellent product. SPAM is actually an excellent product as well. This is funny but it's not a fair representation of the product. I really like DAK Ham sliced and pan fried with some eggs. Don't eat it cold.
I just picked up a few cans today, not because I'm a DAK fan (never tried it) but because, as mentioned, the expiration date is like 2016... seriously! I have an emergency food pantry and these babies are taking their spot right next to the SPAM - however by the time the spam is expired, 2014, DAK will have a couple more years on it! Beat that SPAM!
I bought this before watching this video. I was very impressed with DAK compared to SPAM. I would rather store DAK rather than SPAM based on 2 things: 1) DAK taste much better and 2) a 5 + year expiration date. These guys are little drama queens. Go buy different types of canned meat and try them and then try DAK ham and see for yourself. This guy "gags" when he tastes it and when i first tasted it i was surprised because i expected the worst based on SPAM/CORNED BEEF/ TUNA etc.
