Props to you for actually scrambling and then solving your mod. I've seen so many videos where the guy never scrambles the cube more than one turn out of position and then puts the cube in checker pattern. You can't really see how well the cube turns and how difficult it is to solve the cube when they do that.

ur dumb if u new anything about an es 4x4s mechanism u would now that there is no middle layer, although it may look like a 5x5, it must be solved in a very different way.

It is a 5x5x5, just that the pieces aren't the same sizes. And, currently, my eastsheen 4x4 mechanism is 3 inches from my left hand, so I do know what it looks like. You can see that the puzzle has 5 rows, 5 columns, and 5... depths, I guess you could say. The "centers" are large, the "center-edges" are long, skinny rectangles (which, there is a piece with a long, skinny side on it that would be showing if you took off the caps)... cont in next reply.

The "center-corners" are the pieces that would normally hold the 4x4 centers squares on, the edges have been cut and bandaged to fit with the rest of the cube and the corners are the same (the edges are cut in half, so 2 halves are on one of the pieces and the other 2 halves are on either side of the piece and are also the same size as the long, skinny piece).

I hope that makes sense, and I'm pretty sure I'm correct about that.

this is all i have to say... why dont you think about this, if it was a 5x5 than how come u cannot turn the center layer independantly, the only way to turn the center layer is dependant on the 2 and 4 layers

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to move the center layer independently. The inside structure of a 4x4 is, after all, a 3x3 core. Just because he DIDN'T doesn't mean he CAN'T.

You can turn multiple different layers on a 5x5 to turn faster than just turning one middle layer. Would a turn on the M slice not be the same as grabbing the M layer along with Rw and turning it in one direction, then moving Rw back? That would be the fastest way to move the M slice for many people.

ok here the last thing im going to say... have u ever taken ur es 4x4 apart? u know how on the core there is that square of clear plastic... that is there to prevent the inner layer form turning independantly... but i understand what u are saying. the es 4x4 is built off of the es 5x5 but they made it so that the covered middle layer cannot turn on its own.
