  • You can't spell RAP without RA..God MC, always and forever!

  • the 18th letter was an album I wood put the $ in his hand 4

  • even pac respected nas he was the only rapper he neva dissed back

  • @kateldomful Pac did diss Nas

  • @kateldomful lol what? have u ever heard "Against All Odds"? how can u be a fan and not... and also for the top comment rakim is the better lyricist but pacs the most inspirational artist that hip hop will ever have pac influenced more people with his music than rakim has in 44years of living... thats what hip hop is all about, self expression and inspiration... TUPAC #1 ARTIST

  • @DeadPrezidents92 oh shit fuck me i can' t believe i missed that

pac was so inspirational but cmon rakim wasn't given much of a chance and if pac was here today i doubt he'd be anywhere near as real as he was b4 he died don't get me wrong i love him but everybody's in this industry now either changes or gets lost

  • @kateldomful omg i dont doubt like pac, but wtf pac sellout? not as real? what? pacs time to sellout already came and passed, he was about 2have his own record label, we havent even got the chance 2scratch the surface of tupacs genius.. there will never be a fan base as passionate as pacs fans are, and in the time of his death it was an army 2a certain xtent.. Thats y pac was so great not for the technical side of the lyrics but for the message and how it connects to everyone, any race

  • @kateldomful i think rakim had a few chances, paid in full is one of the best cds ever, he was signed 2 aftermath for a minute, hes one of the most respected mcs ever, he didnt blow up cuz he didnt go for that.. rakim is praised for his lyrical genius but he doesnt preach like pacs does.. theres something about pacs music that for some people it just changes perspectives on life, it proves how powerful music can be.. rakim didnt blow up because he lacks that, other artist have it like eminem krs

  • @DeadPrezidents92 eminem doesnt have that.

  • @jt12212 well thats ur opinion... ive never been touched by an artist like pac but em comes pretty close in my opinion, mayb hes not on the preaching side but when it comes 2 connecting with his fans, tupac is the only name u can possibly put b4 eminem.. em has a ridiculous fanbase, em isnt an ordinary hip hop superstar, no artist has that kind of success without that magic

  • @DeadPrezidents92 idk thats ur opinion but i dont measure artists based on their success. in my opinion eminem sold out and makes horrible music now. i would never put em's lyrical content with krs one. eminem has a lot of skill but i dont think he has ever been close to pac rakim krs as far as knowledge goes.

  • @jt12212 i dont measure artists on their success either but i do notice their legacy.. i dont see at all where eminem sold out, an artists sells out to me when they no longer make the music they desire to make, i dont see how that applies to em at all. With the lyricalcontent of KRS and Em,i should of worded it differently, the content on what they rap about is completely different but i was trying 2compare how their music moves their fans... but back 2 em, (cont.)

  • @jt12212 im not sure what u mean by "knowledge" pac, krs, rakim r probably more socially aware, but on the technical side of rapping, personally i think the only ones who could match em is rakim, krs, biggie. "Infinite" on his 1st album ithink could easily be hailed as some of the greatest lyricism ever, it can match with any of the greats best written work. Em is a very intelligent person, i personally think he's fucking insane, normal people dont come up with half the shit hes put together

  • @PolarBearSlippers You must be over 35 saying that bullcrap.

  • @PolarBearSlippers no what?

  • @jason60152 haha oh reaaaaaaaaaallly.

  • @gilley455 really what?

  • thumbs if ur younger than 13 ;)

  • ik zit hier bij rakim en zie de nederlandse flinke namen, die boys hebben het aardig ver geschopt

  • check out my channel for some complex rhyming people!! peace.

  • @NOSIDDa0043

    no

  • hahaha the top comment sounds so stupid. Biting rakims style... Duh fucking idiot they where influenced by him or the rapper that influenced them was influenced by him.

  • No one of my friends ever heard of rakim.... ?

  • @SwitchTheStyleUp get some new friends.

  • @jamestharan I'm considering.

  • @SwitchTheStyleUp

Rakim invented modern rap, and is the perennial # 1 on the best Emcees ever lists that populate the net and Hip Hop mags. Jay Z, Nas, Half Dollar - whoever - all bow down before Rakim!

  • Comment removed

  • man i miss this times wish i could just go to them days and never come back like stay in in time

  • rakim or notorious big or krs-one ?

  • @MrDahkilla Id put rakim and krs on the same level biggie isnt there. This is the god MC the greatest flow of all time. If you want the definition of hip hop flow you listen to rakim.

  • @Mattu190 Im a big fan of O' skool best spittas and I understand n' respect ur opinion but to me when it comes to flow and delivery Biggie Smalls was and still is the best D.O.A !!! Plus the boomin' sound he produced with his throat was ill and is legendary!!!

  • @MrDahkilla Biggie is over rated. Rakim and KRS One I'd say

  • still my all time favourite rakim Track, you just heared it,so i dont need too drop a explanation

    Rakim Allah

the best who ever did it

  • looking at that album cover, rakim's face has egyptian features

  • one question...does it really matter who is or isnt better than who? stop the useless debates and enjoy the music!

  • pac is overrated<< is sort of correct.. his rap style is great, but not the best. the thing that makes him one of the best is his message.. but not the rapping itself.

  • Ill'est song, RA if your our there come down under. aka Australia, I would really love to meet ya man. So much respect for this man,.

  • how to rap shouldn't be in a book, if people really want to make music they should do that by heart, not how the book learned them to. This is the same joke like all those internet coaches, they can't make you good, you will always be better if you work hard and figure out how to do stuff yourself! (help is never wrong though but its just better to study mc's instead of reading a book..)

  • Always a meanin' within a meanin'. No stretchin' out vowels or half-ass rhymes!! Rappers today are always bitin' Ra's style!! It's changin' monumentally!! It seems to be all about the Baseline & Hooks instead of the Lyrical ability!! It all has its place, but I feel much of it wouldn't exist in the manner it does without the influence of forerunners!!!

  • @KindredKunoichi i know money isn't everything but it really upsets that rappers today make shitloads of mooney and are a fad. when i go back to listen to rakims albums all his songs are amazing so much depth. i hate rap these days. rakim imo should be the richest man in hiphop

  • @Pandabearmadness No Cormega should be the richest man in Hip Hop.

  • @KindredKunoichi NoEmotion954.......... watch every video

  • if i don't listen concentrated to Rakim I can't understand a word of what he is singing

  • And for all u kids that think pac cant flow go listen to pacs druken freestyle, makes rakim look like a fuckin pussy ass bitch

  • @Degradedzzxzz That's why you're here, correct? You need to push that idea because you know that Rakim is the greatest and Tupac is as BassBeatsProductions said it........ a basic emcee.

  • @VaginalVador nah im here cause i saw some pussy commenting on a pac vid he said rakim was better, told me to go to this vid its aight but no comparison when it comes to pac

  • @Degradedzzxzz I love pac as well put if it wasn't no rakim there would be no Pac and what do you mean he's alright you must not have been listening to hip hop long enough or hip to the lyrical display that rakim has shown but its your opinion. Taking nothing away from either though because I enjoy those emcees

  • @Degradedzzxzz need to get your hip hop facts straight though when it comes to these legends and not downplay the other bet you didn't even realize even Pac said he was influenced by the likes of Rakim Listen to the track Old School by 2pac and he talks about that

  • @Degradedzzxzz Rakim is better, looks like that pussy was right. Pac can't even be compared to a down syndrome snail. Rakim will always be the best. Tupac is overrated. Good but not that good.

  • @VaginalVador Not even gonna talk to u, 2pac for life. Westsideeeee muthafuckin thug lifeeee im out.

  • @Degradedzzxzz You just did dumbass, Tupac fans really are stupid.

  • @Degradedzzxzz hahaha yeah right get out of the library before I ban your ass

  • @Degradedzzxzz you sound like a tool lol

you know WEST SIDE!!! EAST SIDE!!!! its all fake, made up by the music industry to sell and control more from the masses like you

    good job

  • @Degradedzzxzz You need to see the light Biggy and Rakim are like gods. Plug your ears into some East Coast shit!

  • Rakim is sick, he has good flow, but his lyrics hold no weight, rapping is basically speaking and when Pac speaks Rakim better shut the fuck up

  • You can NEVER comparePac to the GOD!!!! NEVER EVER!!!!! Pac was a poet and Ra is the GOD!!! Strictly knowledge in ruffest form!!!!

  • @damones1 Nas is both pac and rakim combined

He has like everything in his arsenal

Masterful lyricism, deep poetry, smooth yet a vicious flow

Im not saying nas is better than pac or rakim, but to me he is in my opinion

  • @ThumbsUpMike Lil Flip is better than Rakim.

  • @jason60152 hilarious....

  • @jason60152 i hope your joking

  • @DevourTheDarkness Joking about what?

  • @jason60152 lil flip having ANYTHING on the god

  • @DevourTheDarkness Lil Flip has more money than Rakim.

  • @damones1 Thumbs down for you.Pac was a poet and Lil Wayne is GOD!!!! Lil Wayne even said 2 Pac was the greatest.

  • Pete Rock is an underrated producer to me.

  • what other song has this beat! i cant put my finger on it but i know ive heard it before

  • ive heard that beat before...its from this one song i cant remember

  • Music is subjective people.

  • SHUT UP WITH PAC

2PAC IS A LEGEND BUT RAKIM IS THE BEST MC OF THE HIP-HOP HISTORY !!!

  • its only a hand full of M Cs can play with words like the god

  • this is a RAKIM song stop talkin bout pac

  • In my opinion, rhymes is the only thing he's got on Tupac.

  • @94kobain Rhymes, wordplay, vocabulary...but Pac has emotion, passion, conviction and diversity of subject matter over Ra.

  • Suge used 2Pac as a human shield that night in Vegas

  • @MrDjisgod yoo it aint no conspiracy

  • @MrDjisgod YOO it aint no conspiracy u need to read up on what your talking about cause u obviously dont know

  • @MrDjisgod ur wrong dude

  • thank God for Pete Rock

  • my bud all thinks he likes rap but hated on ra because he dosnt like it when rappers talk about themselves.. fucking retard i tell you he raps (REALLY FUCKING GOOD) about how fucking good he is at rapping.

  • @clarencejones07 dude we know, why is this shit on every fuckin video. STOP ALREADY!

  • wowwwww!

there's no one in da world who culd surpass him he's da dopest rap gun

wid his tight verse dfeated 2pac so he'll 4ever be no.1

  • Thank god for youtube, I bought this CD when it first came out and lost it.... I know epic fail, but at least I can listen to it on here....

  • search ZOMBIELAZERS

  • How is there 3 dislikes?? This is what rap is all about, the golden age of hip hop and this man stood above all.

  • remeber bummpin this back bak way bak

  • Rakim > Pac.

  • just started listening to Rakim and why the fuck have a not been listening until now???

  • @athelticnerd2712 cause you're asleep, Ra is the best ever

  • Rappers now just don't take their time to write a good song, it's not even their subject that's the problem because in the past rappers used to talk about how ill their clothes were. What's the rush? Take your damn time to think of something nice

  • Rappers now just don't take their time to write a good song, it's not even their subject that's the problem because in the past rappers used to talk about how ill their clothes were

  • Rakim the flawless MC. Rakim is blessed from God is it possible to be better than Rakim?

Rakim>>>> All MCS to ever touch a mic

  • @ChimaTheKilla

    there was one better.Tupac

  • @charmyRO no Tupac is 2nd place no arguement required

  • Pete RockS!

  • Pete Rock On The Beat!

  • yesterday was rakim b-day

  • i mean he's legit

  • All time favorite rakim Joint

  • RaKim is the foundation of lyricism and will always number one no matter what. To me #2 would have to be Eminem or Canibus. I know there are several other Mcees that are lyrical, but these 2 emcess had the craziest unique flow, style, in rhymes, and multis.

  • @DeuceisLegit whattup deuce. sorry cuz but i gotta put you on. i dont know how far back you go but melle mel is the foundation of lyricism. rakim is the one who combined lyricism with that dynamic flow. to this day you can catch some of the nastiest lyricism EVER from melle mel right here on youtube. melle mel invented topical rhymes, rhyme verses, but rarely do people speak on that. that's true & valuable hiphop history, peace

  • @kaoss0515 but as far as i know, rakim invented rhyming inside one line...i cant recall the name for that...and that is something he did first, everybody since is trying to copy that style more or less -.- right ?

  • @RAtheEmperor whattup RA, peace & respect! you are right about rakim creatin the rhyme within the rhyme. but melle mel was truly the first to construct the rhyme & give it structure, topics & purpose. melle mel did every topic from positivity to negativity to abstract. rakim built on that & added other unique elements. that creativity is the true beauty & strength of real hip hop. thats why i laugh when i hear rappers call themselves 'the greatest ever' when they bring nothin new to hip hop.

  • @RAtheEmperor these new cats are backed by drug money &/or shady record companies that pump them up by payin djs & radio stations to make them popular. but they contribute nothin new or lasting to hiphop. i've been listening to hiphop for a long time & i truly respect emcees like melle mel & rakim because of what they contributed to art & culture of hiphop.

  • @RAtheEmperor internal rhyme, rhyme within a rhyme, etc.

  • @IxCLuTcHxI yeah, dats right...what do you guys think about his best song ? i would have to say juice...best hiphop song ever for me...

  • @RAtheEmperor i gotta go with don't sweat the technique

  • @CarsRapTrack great one too...whole album is just fantastic...for me, best hiphop album ever...but thats just me -.-

  • @RAtheEmperor internal rhymes

  • @DeuceisLegit if you get the chance check out "Melle Mel - World's Greatest Rapper "

  • @kaoss0515, I see thanks for the informative wisdom.

  • seriously rakim is fkkkkg good but wtf every videos of ra comments are only dissing 2pac .... ?????

  • Rakim is Amazing! Endof discussion..

  • Rakim Allah = Definition Of MC

  • yo he is the flowtry of rap u heard can't fuck with him

  • raaaaah

  • rakim is better than 2pac when it comes to flow, rhyming and lyrics. rap - rhyming and poetry. rakim is better at that. which makes him a better rapper.

  • In my oppinion, What makes Ra better is his flow the way he chains his lyrics ..only. But that doesnt neccesarily make him a better lyricist..PAC'S LYRICS (WHEN NOT GANGSTER)had a motive and a single meanig..not just jumping to the next description of something. So sticking to one thing through out four minuets Lyrically ...you cant really compare in those terms. But what makes Pac better than Ra, and why people still remember him is his ability to personify his tracks, EMOTION in the message.

  • damn i miss the 90`s

  • YO THIS THAT 9 ETHER BABY. NOW WHO FUCKIN WIT THAT. THIS THAT OLIVE GREEN. HA HA WHAT THE FUCK YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT, ELECTROMAGNETIC GREENLIGHT. SHIT YALL NIGGAS BETTER LEAVE THAT FACEBOOK BULLSHIT ALONE, THAT SHIT BLEACHING YOUR DOME.

  • YO THIS THAT 9 ETHER BABY. NOW WHO FUCKIN WIT THAT.

  • u said 2Pac wasnt the strongest MC ever, for me he was but, u cant just say "oh this shit is amazing, he is the best rapper ever", Rakim have diffrent style, he is maybe better with flow etc but 2Pac get status of "LEGEND" cause of something, he is also better than Rakim in some kinds so dont compare them, listen lyrics, move ur head to the beat AND EEENNNNJJJOOOOYYYY :)

  • @GriMRe4PeR360 Lyrically almost no one can touch Rakim and flow wise 0% of rappers can touch him. Tupac's lyrics in lyrical skill sense were very basic even though they were emotional and raw, he's nowhere near Rakim

  • tupac aint overrated one bit, the rhymes he could come up with in immidieatly came out as a solid rap that meant something, try to find one song that doesnt have meaning by tupac, he was a rapper,a poet, a reveloutionary. HE was a true LEGEND of our time.

  • The last verse... holy shit

  • fucking flow, best guy

  • how about everyone shuts the fuck up about who was the best and appreciate the music that's playing? yeah sounds good, doesnt it assholes

    track is still fire

  • Rakims a beast, i can't believe i'm just hearing this

  • old school 4ever? fuck yeah

  • fuck man, i love this song

  • ppl STFU 2pac aient the enemy here its lil wayne!!!!!

2pac we gotta give him props for what he did and his rhymes and poems!

BUT when it come to flowing like rakim dam haha cnt deny rakim the best!!!

and thats wat tupac wanted to do b over rated so ppl cna actually listen to the positive shit he had to say!!! and yea RAKIM the microphone KING right behind him 2pac the downnest gifted mind!!!!!

  • "I find a show, rhyme till its time to go, im designed to blow, im inclined to flow" illll..

  • one of the best tracks i've heard in hiphop..

hope some new cats can do it like these!

  • Unquestionably the greatest to ever do it. The man's style was lightyears ahead of his time.

  • in my top 10 all time favorite hiphop tracks,Beat is just pure illness,Thank u Peterock,n a illbeat + rakim =classic,if i had to find the definition of lyrical,Rakim would be the first name that gonna pop up in my head

  • blaze to this one

  • @ThatIncredibleJordan hell yeah

  • rakim is one of the greatest inspirations in hip hop. dont compare brothas

  • damn his hook is better than most verses-"I find a show, rhyme till it's time to go, i'm designed to blow, my mind's inclined to flow, yo my M.O. makin' all kind of dough, from the info that Rakim show you know"-this man is ridiculous

  • there an instrumental 4 dis

  • Crime-Danche one love.

  • rakim is the perfect mixture of gangsta, cool message, hyper cool flow and nice language....he is almost the perfect Mc...there is noone better then him, only eminem is at my oppinion at the same lvl with ra

  • Nah, Eminem hasn't got shit on Rakim

How many topics does Ra cover, and how much versatility has he shown through his career, His Flow, His subject matter, His use of english, Imagery

Em's first two albums are pretty much all about the same thing, not to say their not good but Eminem shouldn't be in the same sentence as Rakim

    Trust me

  • @JaysLit1 nobody should be in the same sentence as rakim..... period........

  • Nas Mos Def Black Thought Cormega Big Pun Kool G On a lyricism level should all be mentioned in the same sentence as the master

  • @JaysLit1 ummm cant speak on black thought.. realy don't think cormega is up there..Big Pun was ill. so maybe in the sentence, and nas is like the closest thing, but none of them seeing Rakim

  • @DiosanXaquerry

Black Thought is a GOAT Emcee. He's so fucking underrated it's ridiculous. He's definitely on my all-time list and he's HIGH on that list. But I give Rakim #1 GOAT status because of what he established. He fathered so many of the modern styles that came after him. He influenced Black Thought, Nas, Canibus... the man is partly responsible for the greatness of proceeding eras. You just can't discount that. So yeah, Rakim is still the GOAT in my opinion.

  • @AllPro777 if the Roots had come out a little earlier Thought would have been recognized.

You realize the last verse is made up almost entirely of references to his own past songs.

    I counted atleast 11.

  • @anastamotic

Yeah, that was hot how he did that. I have the original version of "When I'm Flow'in". This one is better.

  • @DiosanXaquerry Yes no one should be mentioned in the same sentence as Rakim... Unless the sentence is this rapper shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence of Rakim

  • dont know why but this is my favourite Rakim track

  • Rakim's flow is up at B.I.G

  • right up there

  • this beat gives me goosebumps

  • Rakim shulda fucked with premo and pete Rock on The Seventh Seal.

  • Music its all about message... Fuck all that pop artists such as lil wayne, drake, souljah boy, ne yo,

  • i assumed he would get worse without eric b........hell naaaaaaaaaah this man got even BETTER

  • yo pete rock gave this song a cosmic feel to it this was my cut i aint no 5%er but peace to the god this my man right here

  • Comment removed

  • Yo, accurate tactics "Make Em Clap to This" When I "Move the Crowd", my "Rhythm" still don't miss Breeze through melodies cause "It's Been A Long Time" My "Lyrics" is "Fury" and rappers hate to hear me rhyme Every antidote that I quote, is "No Joke" Nobody's smilin "In The Ghetto" from the notes I wrote My high techniques wreck and disrepect beats Have you "Follow-in The Leader" up and down the streets So "Kick Along" as I rip a song with pull As the rhyme goes on I get "Paid In Full" Genius
  • @ThatIncredibleJordan thank you
