The IS-F will rape the new 5.0 Mustang GT. It runs mid 12s stock. A new IS350 starts at 36K. Not that much more than a Mustang. Also, the new 5.0 is the first Mustang GT to beat the IS350. It took them this long to catch up to a luxury sedan. LOL. Mustangs are such garbage. Everything Ford makes, Lexus has something ten times better. They aren't even really comparable. It's like comparing a McDonalds burger to Chateau Briand.

@starksy17 My IS350 was never recalled for anyhting. Also, after all the investigations, it came out that the pedal sticking was most likely USER ERROR. lol. It's like when Audi got a bad rap for this in the 80s. The only difference is, though, that people know better with Toyota and Lexus. Their sales are strong and will always be strong. And yeah, Ford is garbage... except the Ford GT, which was only a couple years. THE ONLY FORD I would EVER drive!

Lexus is number one in price? Not even close. Try reliability, customer satisfaction, resale value. Shall I continue? Obviously they are not going to be number one in sales because not everyone can afford one. They are, however, the number one selling luxury brand. Rebuttal?

@starksy17 The v6 truck may be faster than almost any Toyota, but since almost all Lexus cars get to 60 in under 6 sec., I guess that argument doesn't hold. Also, the IS-F got a new LSD for 2011 and beat the M3 in VIR's lightning lap to address the over/understeer issues. So, you can't really argue that. The IS-F would beat the Mustang no doubt (and it's a sedan. LOL). But, the LF-A absolutely kills anything ever has or will make, so that kind of concludes the argument there.

Of course there is a clear reason why Mazdas are not nearly as reliable as the rest of the Japanese auto manufacturers. So, you can't call tha Agera a Ford! It's not manufactured by them. Ford = slow and unreliable.

@jbayse99 I'm sure toyota can make a real sports car, but it's been a while since they've done that (not counting the LF-A). The mustang performs better than than the IS-F at pretty much half the price. The lexus will have the better interior, but that's what makes it a luxury car, not a sports car. Toyota has done the best job of making the driver feel disconnected from the driving experience. They're nice cars, but a bore to drive.

@mris350 The new 5.0 mustangs are hands down a better sports car than the IS350. The IS is a great car and definitely has a better interior, but it's never really been a great sports car. It's a luxury car that also happens to have generally decent performance. The GT mustang starts at 10k less than the IS350 and I'd still choose it over even the IS-F. If your goal is performance, the IS just isn't a great car. If you want a lot of luxury with some performance, then it's not bad.

If you want a sporty feel and marginal performance for a sports car with zero comfort, buy a Mustang. If you actually want decent sports car performance, buy a corvette. @jbayse99 The mustang has been said to be comparable to the M3 in terms of performance, which is definitely not something to scoff at. I've never really liked mustangs, but the new 5.0 is impressive and not terribly uncomfortable. It's not as comfortable as a Lexus, but I think that's a good thing. Z06 Vette's are a bit more than "decent" performance. I agree on the 911. The LF-A is a bit over priced in my opinion. I think you can get more for your money elsewhere.

You don't buy a lexus if your goal is a performance car. It's a nice luxury car. Every IS model has a better performing car in the price range. The price range does not correspond well with the level of performance.

I'm sorry but Unless the Mustang Driver Didn't know how to shift unless he was 100% stock He would have killed that Lexus. 5.0 run mid to high 14's on a good day with no mods. Drop only 1G into a stand I guarantee it will run low to mid 12's.

im a lexus freak nowadays....but to be fair...

the mustang had a poor start (or the lex jumped)! if the starts were equal....i think it prob woulda been a tie, or the stang may have even won...depending if he knows how to shift or not.

also, he coulda been a newbie mustanger, as only a few minor mods will have those 5ohhs runnin high 13s if they are stick and a good driver and synthetic fluids.

id love to see what it takes to get an is350 to the high 12s-very low 13's tho

I find it hard to believe that your car ran that slow,lol..Ofcourse unless u weigh 300+..and btw does that ford have any mods? 14.60 If that was my car I would leave it on the corner with the keys in it and walk away..and pray for the best!!!
