  • The best AD joke of all. I watched it 3 times, and loved it all 3 times. 4 times would be too much, probably.

  • blue mountain state c-word > arrested development c-word

    but both shows are amazing

  • I had to watch that again to get it lmao. This show is the definition of comedy.

  • Pls for the love of TV, somebody bring back Arrested Development.

  • @RohRohToday

It's being brought back. Google it.

  • 8 people should leave now and not when they are good and ready.

  • Mr. F!

  • one of my favorite arrested development jokes

  • Yeah Fox didn't market the show properly: They changed the schedule several times, did NOT advertise for it, and split up the seasons and the airings. They did the same thing with Firefly, both of which have since become huge cult hits - once people actually watch them, they are hooked. I admit that I missed a lot of the original airings of this show simply because I didn't know when it was on. Of course now I've seen every episode at least 3 or 4 times on Netlfix and DVD.

  • I love that in the last episode, the boat that they rent is actually called C-word and not sea ward

  • I dunno how I never caught that joke before.

  • @daffyphack every time i watch arrested i find new jokes

  • I don't understand all of the hate on this video. We all can here because we love Arrested Development. And it wasn't cancelled because Americans didn't get the humor. Based on the extremely large cult following the show has, Ron Howard being the American genius that conceived the show, Mitch Hurwitz being the American creator and head writer, and the cast of American actors, it wasn't America's fault. It was the shitty marketing and lack of care from FOX that caused the show to end.

  • 7 people will leave when they're good and ready!

  • everyone, shut up. you have opinions, and sometimes you don't like other people's, i get it. However, the fighting doesn't change the opinions you don't like, and will just cause suffering..

  • Ch1nk,

  • Comment removed

  • 5 people are the c-word

  • @theofficejr stop that.

  • @TremulantMannequin yeah i know its annoying i had to try it once probaly wouldt do it again

  • YOUR A CUNT

  • y r american;s so dumb and fat srsly thats why this hsow was canceleeeekdekf tejhkjoh orioew fdadfsxcffda

  • @ConsoleApostate So true. I think that if the show was not on a censored network it wouldn't have been as funny. The shows writers seemed to have such a good time wrapping dirty meanings into clean phrases with many double entendres. I loved it.

  • i don't get why lucille said "i'll leave when i'm good and ready"

  • @bh3ader seaward - c word . and c word comes in really bad meaning. like c u n .

  • @wessagooo so lucille thought they were referring to her? anyways thx

  • @bh3ader yeah . no problem.

  • @bh3ader LOL

  • Arguably the greatest show ever made.

  • it's funny when it's a gag, but if you actually say the c-word... welcome to misogyny!

    You n-words...

  • Arrested Development > All shows currently on TV

  • @MD94Productions What about "Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia"? In my opinion, its the only other show on the same level with Arrested Development. =)

  • @BomaBoi I haven't tried it yet but I've heard good things about it

  • @BomaBoi "Always Sunny" is a really good show, but AD is the ONLY show I have seen countless times and there's not a single weak episode and it never ever stops being funny. If anything, I think it just gets better the more times you see it!

  • @Avarcirith Idk man.. I got tired after watching it twice.. And same with Always sunny.. I guess watching anything more than once is rarely fun. Yo archer is fucking hilarious haha. I jsut started watching that. I recommend it highly =) Of course its not as good as ASIP or AD. but its still a laugh

  • @MD94Productions except for community

  • @MD94Productions Modern Family yo.

  • @cowgba Not even close. Not bad, but doesn't come close to Arrested.

  • She puts the "count" in "country living." --The Owl Party

  • Let's compare our countries as if it has some sort of significant impact instead of shutting up and laughing at Arrested Development. Sounds much more fun to me.

  • oh i get it!!

  • The 4 people who disliked this are probably FOX executives.

  • which episode was this?

  • @billybobob1234

    Season 2, Episode 2

  • The Seaward is not the Yacht GOB sunk. The Seaward is the Yacht GOB buys to impress Starla the Business model.

  • Anyone else see the humor in fcukimbusy calling Americans stupid while misspelling the word 'Americans'? That's some Arrested-level humor right there.

  • @kylerlng it's a classic example of ironism. ironicism? ironicity? whatever, you know what i mean.

  • I like this one but i like the one about the cabin better.... Who'd want to go into that old trap ?

    Oh you mean the cabin.

  • seaward - c-word (c*nt) - too bad most of my german friends don't get it without an explanation.

  • i thought they cancelled it cause Cera got famous and they couldnt pay him

  • @coldblooded... Lmao!!! You remind me of one if those guys who sit at the other side of the border asking 'us' how the 'weather is up there?' *facepalm* Btw... I am a huge fan of AD... The problem is it went over too many Americans heads to stay on air... :( Any fan should realize that...

  • @reclaimingkatie well that sucks for you to bad Canada's boring and unimaginative , to the point that you have to watch American tv show made by Americans and proceed to bitch when we end it.

  • @mpf189 - have you ever watched 'talking to americans' ??? Try watching it on YouTube. It explains how we spend our time doing a bit more productive things... Wait, don't bother watching it... You won't get the joke.

  • Jessica Walter is AMAZING.

  • does any1 know the full extent of the underlying meanings behind "the C-word" all i got was cunt and cancellation lol.

  • @randomaznpopper I think the original boat was called "the seaward" but GOB made it "disappear" (he blew it up) and then when he got a new boat he literally named it "the C-word" because he's an idiot. Or at least, I think thats what happened.

  • @ATHFguy i think thats what happened but the description says theres metaphorical value in the phrase i'm trying to figure out why, ty though.

  • I love how i didnt even catch this when i saw the episode, and gobs facial expression is priceless.

  • One of the best lines i've ever heard. I agree with the whole laugh track thing. People need to be told when to laugh it seems.

  • i watched that episode so many times and i never noticed that

  • Was literally watching this earlier today (I only picked up the series a few months ago) and I finally understood this joke, nearly choked because i was laughing so hard xD.

  • @samuraichikx LOL. I had seen this before as well and missed it for some reason. Then when I got it, I couldn't breathe.

  • wow, I didn't get this joke at all, now i get it. amazing.

  • you selfish CU-ountry music loving person...

  • Did everyone notice the name of the boat GOB is on, on the final episode?

  • In the event anyone is confused about the joke, read the description! Haha maybe just change the title of the video to "the Seaward", seems like people would have less trouble grasping the multiple layers of the joke that way

  • This took me forever to get. :P

    *is a really dumb homeboy*

  • Love Gob's face at the end.

  • Mr. F!

  • you should change the title i thought it was the show the c word with arrested development no offense videos great though

  • the writers of this show are geniuses

    Arrested Development FTW !

  • God I love Gob's look at the end. Haha

  • who?

  • her?

  • Laugh out loud every time.

  • Oh my god I forgot how much I loved this show when I was younger, now I'm older and can actually appreciate it alot more!

  • @RebirthWoWGuild I know what you mean, my brother used to watch it when I was in high school, I used to watch it with him and I thought it was funny, but I enjoy it so much more now that I'm older!

  • ♫Mr. F♫

  • I brought you a candy bar. Oh, I'm withholding it! Look at me: getting off!

  • The title of the vid gives away the joke!

  • Its this joke and the one where Lindsay sits on the copy machine and says she wants a Volvo that made me go "......Wow. They just got away with that! :D"

    AD FOREVER!

  • MR F

  • @fcukimbusy

    So true.

This is the kind of humor that is actually REALLY funny...and flew over most people's heads because they weren't "told" to laugh. So sad.

  • @fcukimbusy its an american tv show dummy. It got canceled because its one of those shows if you arent with it from the beginning it wont make any sense to new viewers. So they had low ratings. It became insanely popular with dvd releases etc when we could see all the episodes and it made sense.

  • Comment removed

  • @fcukimbusy

I AGREE 100%! Wenever i talk to people about this show and theyv'e never heard of it, i tell them it got cancelled because America wasnt ready for such a show and it was too smart a show for the audience.

  • @hersh23 Is that like in a brochure of things AD fans are supposed to say about the show? I can't tell you how many times I've heard that. It's a rather elitist thing to say IMO.

  • @fcukimbusy fuck youuuu. not all of us were too stupid.... just.... a large majority.

  • @fcukimbusy Yeah that show created and developed by americans, they totally didn't get it.

  • @fcukimbusy explain the office, parks and recreation, and community then. There's more to it then that. It had a nice long run, but it got moved all over in the times slots and it's one of those shows that is much easier to appreciate if you've been watching since day 1.

  • @fcukimbusy might wanna take that apostrophe out of your plural version of 'Americans' before you call people stupid

  • @therealribbit If I've farted I can still point out a fart that smells a bit different.

  • @therealribbit haha, english is probably not his first language anyway

    dont beat him up dude

gotta be honest tho....lotta americans are pretty stupid ;)

(not all of em of course)

  • @fcukimbusy Actually, it's because it wasn't marketed well. Thanks for your thought though!

  • @fcukimbusy But the false laughter let's me know when my natural instinct to laugh should kick in.

  • @fcukimbusy Says the Canadian...guess what, AD was created by Americans, the only thing Canadians ever created was Degrassi High..take a look at the highest rated TV shows in Canada..all American produced! American Idol is the 5th most watched show in Canada LOL..you guys are just as freaking dumb!

  • @fcukimbusy AMEN.

  • @fcukimbusy Well, that and Fox sucks at marketing.

  • @fcukimbusy if only you boring old Canadians could come up with something as funny as AD, but hey you get confuse at any thing that doesn't involve a a club and an adorable baby seal.

  • @coldbloodid so wait, when you leave people dying at the side of the road because they cant pay their medical bills that is somehow more right than a way of living that has been going on for thousands of years? its fine to let capitalism ruin a country and a civilization? its fine to let people walk into a store and come out of it with enough ammunition to blow a store full of innocent people away? humans before some fluffy little seals.

  • @aRAUSEr7 what the fuck are you talking about !

  • @coldbloodid re-read my original post very carefully. i subtly called americans hypocrites.

  • @aRAUSEr7 really cause what i read was some bullshit about how were letting our people die on the streets lol.

  • @fcukimbusy Ironically it was the same "stupid" Americans who not only created the show, but wrote the humour as well. And meanwhile "The Simpsons", "Malcom in the Middle", "Scrubs", "The Office", "30 Rock", and "Modern Family" and countless other laugh trackless sictoms were/are huge in the ratings department. But this would be assuming you weren't too stupid to know what you're talking about. Ahh our little far less significant sisters from up north....

  • @fcukimbusy... When you guys develop your own national identity and stop living in our shadows, we'll talk.

  • @b8kerskatr I wonder what our national identity is.

  • @fcukimbusy Yeah all non-cancelled shows have laugh tracks. Except for little unknown shows like The Simpsons, The Office, 30 Rock, Futurama, Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. Those seemed to have slipped under the radar. (All these shows are still airing new episodes without a laugh track, and have outlasted AD).

  • @AlexKing666 Curb also had it's ass kicked at the Emmy's by Arrested Development!

  • i would've gotten this joke the first time if i knew he was saying "get rid of"instead of "give her the"...

  • @alexrules55 oh maaan! is is what he says! i thought he said give her the as well. i get it now:P

  • You need the 90 seconds before the start of this to fully appreciate the joke.

  • ...Covered in cluuub saaauce..

  • Let me just circumvent you

  • wow, jesus that joke was subtle. watched the series twice and never noticed that.

  • The original yacht that GOB blew up was named Lucille and then he bought a boat called The Seaward in "The One Where They Build a House" because he thought he was flirting with Starla and then they have The Seaward for the remainder of the show (until Michael and George-Michael drive away in it in "Development Arrested")

  • damn i miss this show

  • in my opinion this is the best joke in the show, brilliant writing by who ever came up with it and it was acted out perfectly.

  • @ryansmellsbad There's more than just that one.

Life Guard: " LOOSE SEAL! WATCH OUT FOR LOOSE SEAL!"

Buster: "I DON'T CARE ABOUT LUCILLE!!"

    lmfao!

  • Its also funny because vaginas smell like fish sometimes :\

  • IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT THEY WERE CALLING HER A CUNT! LOLOLOL

    but that is funny.

  • @changbang412 wow! the obnoxious-guy-pointing-out-the-obvious-joke made me laugh my ass off a 2nd time.

    Thanks for that!

  • NO LEAS ESTO!!SI LO AS LEIDO COPIA Y PEGA ESTO EN 5 VIDEOS MAS SI NO LO HACES TU MADRE MORIRA EN 3 DIAS POR FAVOR HACEME CASO ES UNA MALDICION

  • I never got that scene until now! Ha! This show was brilliant. Beyond brilliant.

  • oh stfu! shits funny!

  • man why can't they just bring this back. I'll be first in line for the movie but I want it on tv, too. I never watched it when it was on and I feel guilty now because i contributed to it getting canceled. give me another chance!

  • This could have been easily circumvrented

  • SEA WARD! hahahahahahahah!

  • This video makes no sense without the context of the boat being named "The Seaward." Can you please add that part to the video so it will make sense to people who have never seen the show? Otherwise, it just looks like a crude joke and nothing more.

  • @williamherbert I decline, people who have never seen the show wouldn't be typing in The C Word Arrested Development. This was put up for fans not as a intro to the show. Also the basic premise of the joke is explained in the info.

  • @iCipher Fair enough but you realize that the humor is in "Seaward" and not the vulgar "C-Word." This is the equivalent of "take my wife please" without the set up to show why it's funny. As-is, it just looks like a son calling his mom a cunt. Not funny out of context.

  • @williamherbert No, it is funny because of the disconnect between the mother and her sons. Where her mind leaps vs the actual context. Also, the c-word refers to cancelled as well since the show was finishing. And it is still in context, anyone watching the clip can pick up they're talking about the boat while Lucille leaps to the conclusion about them calling her a c#%t. I am sure most would agree.

  • @iCipher but because it's cropped where it is, those who don't realise don't see the context and therefore don't understand!

  • @xXKatieVengeanceXx I'm going to work on a video with a extended scene as well as adding in GOB's fish reference.

  • @iCipher It wasn't being cancelled at that time.

  • @al28283 Yes, I didn't say it was but the threat was there and Mitch Hurwitz made comments saying about how up in the air everything was which is why it works better with the unknown(Get rid of the c-word...see it now ?). See the DVD commentary for season 3 .

  • @iCipher so to get this joke I have to go and buy a dvd and watch the commentary? Nah, that's bullshit mate. Should have left in the seaward which was the actual joke

  • @iCipher No, the show was not finishing. This was the 2nd episode of season 2. Cancellation rumors only started really gaining ground towards the end of season 2.

  • @FunnyCowboyDance If you read my comments, I didn't comment that the show was cancelled at the time of this episode only that the C-Word joke took on new meaning in season 3 with the threat of cancellation, which is why I referred to Mitch Hurwitz explaining such in the season 3 DVD extras. In fact, the joke carries right into the final episode and final minutes with the metaphor of the boat/show being ferried away by the cancellation.

  • @iCipher I didn't get here by typing in The C Word, i got here by typing in 'Arrested Development' and following one or two related video clips.

  • you selfish cunt-ry loving music person!

  • @vikas713 Do you know if theres a clip of that scene i laughed so hard at it i wanna find it

  • My favorite episode is the one when George Bluth tries to hire Andy Griffith to be his defense attorney, but Andy decides not to do it when he sees the log cabin on the Bluth truck and thinks they are making fun of him, and Ron Howard says “No One was trying make fun of Andy Griffith, I can’t make that any clearer.” Ugh so many hidden works of art in this show.

  • @ScrapedfromSealings You said it, so many in-jokes and hidden references. Like when Jessie the PR girl calls George Michael Opie and Ron narrates, "Jessie had gone too far and she best watch her mouth." Hey now! (I always wanted George Sr. to yell that once)

  • Timing of this is just amazing!

  • Man, that show was great, a lot of hidden jokes and stuff, hard for someone whose native language isn't English (like me), but even with that, most of the jokes were awesome and clever, not like the TV shows nowdays, when they need to tell you when to laugh. I'm hoping for a great movie too.

  • 1...2...3

  • what does g.o.b. stand for again?

  • @aguafiesta69 George Oscar Bluth II

  • And YOU are a cunt...ry music loving person!

  • It took me a few seconds to get the line "I'll leave when I'm good and ready." Oh, and at some point in the series, you see a boat with the name "The Seaward" written on it, but then later on in a different episode it says "The C-Word"

  • @CoolJohnDog ... i think its a refference 2 how they dumbed down and explained jokes so ppl would catch on and the show wont be cancelled... this show will be like sienfeld, it will take a while 2 catch on...

  • "check out

Vakano Ft D.G. Love's The Ultimate"

  • I love lucille for moments like this....

"I'll leave when i'm good and ready'

You don't fuck around with her...

  • The Seaward was Gob's boat... But Lucille thought they were referring to her (as in c-word, meaning cunt.) The best part of the play on words was the fact that the underlying meaning of "get rid of the c-word" was the word canceled, because the show was always on the brink of being canceled.

  • @annienkolle

His boat actually WAS the "C - Word", too, right?

  • @DanRSL The first boat was "The Seaward", which is the boat Michael is talking about. His second boat is "The C-Word".

  • @x2189

Really? I thought you only ever saw the boat once, toward the end of the series when Egg was on it.

  • @DanRSL You can see it when George Michael confronts and hits GOB when he sees GOB is dating Anne. Also, it can be seen when George Michael and Michael take off in it in the final minutes leaving the rest of the Bluths to fend for themselves for once.

  • @DanRSL It was called the Seaward. lol

  • Her?

  • @gregbdiablo Her? was the best joke lol.

  • I didn't catch this joke the first time. That's what was brilliant about the show, there's always something new you hadn't noticed before. That's what keeps the show fresh every time you watch it.
