@quiblyful There's still no full release date. The only thing we know for certain is that it's coming out this year, 2012. But from other updates, calls, beta testing times, etc, it's looking like it will be a summer release.
@aperrotts Picking god for humans only affects the start of your story, not your racial skills. Those are the sames no matter which storyoption you go for.

These "little" things are what make the game so different and refreshing. Other mmo's are not bad games, but they all feel the same to me, for example SWTOR, if u take away the story and the voiceacting it's really wow, now if u never played an mmo there is nothing wrong with the game, but if u have, personally i get a deja vu feeling like i have allready done these quest over and over again. Not that GW2 won't have quest, but the way they scale and are presented to u will feel different. i hope

I'm both looking forward to and dreading GW2. As someone who inherited several rich players' fortunes when they quit, I'll have to start all over again... I'll never get that lucky twice...
@tf2ismad Which is about 5 days, if you play 24 hours on those 5 days. But it will depend. If you don't participate well enough on dynamic events, it may take longer.
Wouldn't there be a problem with people AFKing in event areas and making it a lot harder for people actually participating? I could see a lot of people AFKing to get exp/loot without having to actually do anything.
Unless there is something in place to prevent that ;)
@DuskDismantled1 There is. The server will measure participation, so being idle will not scale the contents and will not reward you when the event completes.

On the level curve, shouldn't Guild Wars 2 have a line that's closer to the middle, rather than being at the bottom? I sure hope that each level isn't gained as quickly as level 2 is in WoW
@MaskOfTruth Levels 1 - 20 will go pretty fast... as in one day of hard playing. After that each level will take around an hour and a half if you are really on the ball with gaining xp and not screwing around... which... by the looks of this game, will be hard to resist as there are endless distractions. But yes. 60 level x 90 minutes plus estimate time to get to 20 means it will take around 100 hours of solid play time to max a character
@MaskOfTruth the curve just represents how levelling looks in other games. It starts off in one end and then skyrockets. it has nothing to do with WHERE the line is drawn (that's just scale) but that it is flat. If the line was "higher" it would simply mean that it would take more hours to get to the next level, and why grind for levels?
@Dizzabre Yes, the home instance will be interesting to watch as it changes during gameplay. I am going to cover it in one of my next clips, depending on how the vote for clips goes (subscribers vote for the next topic to be covered).

in vanilla i used to try ony 40 times before we won, now one wipe these days and a bunch of RL converters quit and whine LIKE kids (real kids can be mature)

The downed state sound good in pve... but in pvp if someone is good enough to take on more than 1 person at a time then how is he going to win if the enemy can just revive his buddy? Although yes in pve it sound very useful... saves having to take a ghostly stroll from the graveyard ^.^
@mesahatesayou Yes, it takes as long as a first-time res and kills the character. Basiclaly, if someone is trying to res his friend he is not hitting you, and you can finish the downed player off.
@ricethesnake The first initial levels will be faster, but then the pace will be consistent, not longer and longer by level like it is in WoW or SWTOR. About an hour and a half of gameplay per level, no matter if it is from 25 to 26 or 59 to 60.
@ewitC You can check out the official homepage guildwars2 . com . There is no releasedate yet, only "when it is ready". I made a clip about that on my channel, which I update every week with more GW2 stuff, so feel free to check that out.
Just so you know, getting "rewarded" in a game for so many things means you have to work for stats, other games provide those without wasting your real time. In other words: new 'exciting' ways to grind out your gear.
@PowerhouseRanger Cause raiding in WoW all week for hours on end totally isn't a waste of your real time. :P There is a grind in every MMO, some are just different.

Hmmm k now you kinda damped my ardour with that fast travel system, i fear that it will bring same results as wow flying mounts + bg/pvp queue system that teleports inside. That everyone won't really move out of towns after first leveling frenzy.
@plplplplomg Considering the contents out of the cities is still challenging and rewarding, not just "low-level stuff" like it is in a lot of other games, I really don't think that is going to be a massive problem.
@sowhs Compare GW1 to WoW. GW1 = Three chapters + one expansion. In total Four boxes. WoW = one chapter + three serial expansions. In total four boxes. WoW price between expansions = $15/month. GW1 price between expansions = $0/month. So yeah, one is a tad greedier than the other.
I like how you can jump, but will it actually make it easier for traveling such as jumping over fences or rocks? Some games have the character jump but can't go over some stuff. WoW lets you jump over stuff for a faster routes hopefully GW2 is like that

@HOBSChannel Each level (passed the initial ones) will take about 90 minutes or gameplay each. The scale is flat, not logarithmic like it is in WoW where higher levels takes longer and longer. And no, this won't be a grind-game.
@SagelikeOne In wow they do require more exp to level up as you go but the quests and monsters also give you more exp so it kinda balances out. Gotta love GW2 though ;P

@Bestbeatstherest It does NOT balance out in WoW though, and each level takes progressively longer to complete. The step between 25 and 26 is a LOT shorter than that from 59 to 60. Yes the mobs give more XP but the amount you have to collect increases even more. In GW2, that will not be the case. The time spent from 25 to 26 will be the same as 59-60.
@SagelikeOne On wow the exp difference might be bigger at the bigger levels but the amount of exp quests, dungeons and mobs give is much higher and since cataclysm they have made it even easier to follow quests and dungeon quests are in the beginning of every dungeon therefore its hard to miss them so all in all it does balance out mate ;)

@metalrayne1 I think it takes ~ 90 minutes to increase a level to level 80. So from 1 to 80 = 79 levels = 79 x 90 mins = 118 and a half hours!

The downed state sound good in pve... but in pvp if someone is good enough to take on more than 1 person at a time then how is he going to win if the enemy can just revive his buddy? Although yes in pve it sound very useful... saves having to take a ghostly stroll from the graveyard ^.^

@mesahatesayou Yes, it takes as long as a first-time res and kills the character. Basiclaly, if someone is trying to res his friend he is not hitting you, and you can finish the downed player off.

the leveling curve will not change from level 20 up but it will change from say 19 to 20

@ricethesnake The first initial levels will be faster, but then the pace will be consistent, not longer and longer by level like it is in WoW or SWTOR. About an hour and a half of gameplay per level, no matter if it is from 25 to 26 or 59 to 60.

Just so you know, getting "rewarded" in a game for so many things means you have to work for stats, other games provide those without wasting your real time. In other words: new 'exciting' ways to grind out your gear.

Hmmm k now you kinda damped my ardour with that fast travel system, i fear that it will bring same results as wow flying mounts + bg/pvp queue system that teleports inside. That everyone won't really move out of towns after first leveling frenzy.

@sowhs Compare GW1 to WoW. GW1 = Three chapters + one expansion. In total Four boxes. WoW = one chapter + three serial expansions. In total four boxes. WoW price between expansions = $15/month. GW1 price between expansions = $0/month. So yeah, one is a tad greedier than the other.

@sowhs 1. I disagree. I have never had a problem with the NCsoft support. So that's incidental at best.
2. That's a design decision and has nothing to do with it being free to play.
3. I am not I would call a complete civil war "insignificant". A petty tournament out in the snow - yes, but not an entire civil war.

I like how you can jump, but will it actually make it easier for traveling such as jumping over fences or rocks? Some games have the character jump but can't go over some stuff. WoW lets you jump over stuff for a faster routes hopefully GW2 is like that

well i like all but 1 of the reasons and it the leveling thing do they tell you how long it is going to take to level who knows maybe lv 1-80 each level could require an hour to several hours of gameplay is it going to be a grind game or a game where i can get to level 80 in like 5 min THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT MUST BE ANSWER THESE ARE DOVAKIN DRAGON BORN FUS RO DAH!!!!!!!!!!!! @HOBSChannel Each level (passed the initial ones) will take about 90 minutes or gameplay each. The scale is flat, not logarithmic like it is in WoW where higher levels takes longer and longer. And no, this won't be a grind-game.

@SagelikeOne In wow they do require more exp to level up as you go but the quests and monsters also give you more exp so it kinda balances out. Gotta love GW2 though ;P

@Bestbeatstherest It does NOT balance out in WoW though, and each level takes progressively longer to complete. The step between 25 and 26 is a LOT shorter than that from 59 to 60. Yes the mobs give more XP but the amount you have to collect increases even more. In GW2, that will not be the case. The time spent from 25 to 26 will be the same as 59-60.

@SagelikeOne On wow the exp difference might be bigger at the bigger levels but the amount of exp quests, dungeons and mobs give is much higher and since cataclysm they have made it even easier to follow quests and dungeon quests are in the beginning of every dungeon therefore its hard to miss them so all in all it does balance out mate ;)
