  • get a looper!

  • Yap true story. You play well but at the end of the video i couldnt figure what you said...

  • I hear some take 5!

  • up the irons !

nice playing and nice maiden poster

  • It must be really cold in that room

  • bra, men kan du inte göra en cover på "Layla" av Eric Clapton skulle varit kul!

  • damn bro .. sick haha!

  • this sounds sooo great. will you tell me what were some of the chords being played back and forth at 19 seconds?

Love jazz but its not the easiest style to play (considering I have never had lessons) Super job man.

  • @dkrhymes he's playing Bm7 E9 at 19 secs, then when it goes into the walking bass line it looks like Bm7 E9 Am7 D9. Methinks:) very nice vid!

  • While technically there are no "wrong" notes, I find that playing the 7th of that scale as a natural 7th to be quite strange/unpleasing to the Western ear. [;^) Your hours of practice and understanding of chord progression and musical theory have paid off--very nicely done. [And I thought I was the only misfit who played exclusively jazz on my strat!]

  • your videos are abolutely great...

  • 0:29 is a rip off from an expert village video haha

  • do you go to school for music?

  • I love what you did on 0:25-0:39

its a nice technique, how'd you learn it?

    any tips?

  • @herald9 Evidentially he took it from an expertvillage video haha

  • Hi, im kind of new to music theory, if youre in B minor, the only notes youre using are B, C#, D, E, F#, G and A...right?

  • correct

  • That is the B Natural Minor scale. Usualy in jazz you would use the B Melodic Minor scale which would be

B C# D E F# G# A#. Basically the same as the B Major scale with a flat 3rd. But in jazz you use allot of chromatic notes which would be notes that are out-side the scale. And there technically are no "wrong notes" in jazz O_o

  • Also, Melodic Minor, classically speaking is the scale I said going up, but then the scale you said going down.

In jazz, you play the same scale I wrote out ascending and decending. Mostly because this introduces new modes to play with.

  • Yes those are the notes of the B minor scale.

But.. using the B blues scale the notes would be...

    B D E F F# A

  • b minor = d major. d major has two sharps: F and C. you are correct

  • @MetalHybrid you are always only a half step away from a right note. always remember that.

  • This sounds so familiar...

  • finger picking technique is a little off

  • Seriously, there was no need to go that far.

  • try it urself fag

  • he just said he was improvising jazz... not "hey im the most amazing jazz guitarist ever and im american so that makes me better!" asshole....

  • He's swedish, and you're an ignorant idiot.

  • take five dude!

  • how do you learn how to play jazz? where do i start?

  • pick a jazz song you like and learn how to play it.

  • SLAYER!

  • You need to learn modern armony. It´s is very dificult.

    greetings

  • 00:29-00:36 was realy good=) Keep it up!

  • that was OK jazz guitar. Stick with rock. You used a lot of bebop scales. The chordage was cool at the beginning but the rest wasn't really jazzy. But Ilike how you got a smoother sound out of the strat.

  • that's exactly like something i hear every time i walk into guitar center

    anyway... nice job

  • lol

  • nice bro

  • dude, this is awesome. What scales do you use mostly, because I've really been wanting to learn more jazzy things, but don't really know where to start.

  • ok,valido! :)

  • are you cold?

  • he is good

  • amazing.

  • Oj, vad glad jag blev när du hade laddat upp ett nytt klipp!(: Trodde du hade lagt av (Gör icke det!) Skitbra som vanligt, vad mer kan man säga! ;)

  • gryyymt hur länge har du spelat ?

  • is there anythin u can't play man lol this is good stuff right here

  • dig the meter change from quintuple to quadruple at 0:29.

I disagree about strats sounding bad for jazz, good single coils sound much more musical than HB's and they require more tone from the hands instead of the amp. I likve strats for jazz. The only sound that an HB does better is the wamr neck PU HB 'comp/chord sound.

  • I wouldn't be suprised if You got a recording contract!

  • how r u such a phenom

  • o_0. That is pretty damn good.

  • nice walking bass at :29 overall amazing!!!!

  • amazing work.

  • Cool.

  • the first riff was from take 5 as is the two chord vamp before you did the walking bassline. Speaking of which is that from anything or just from experimentation?

  • Have you met Steve Harris?

  • change the jazz to the fucking HEAVYMETAL! :D You rock and your skills are awesome! You can be a big star! :) Peace! \m/

  • Really damn good. for sure. Nice groove and tone is solid. You should also put a bit of this clip up on AmIaGoodMusician dotcom. You'd probably rate pretty well, and get some other exposure. Check it out, you'll see.

  • Fucking nice. Love the Scarf and hat.

  • That was awesome man. props for learning jazz and the patience learning it most people who play metal such as maiden wouldnt play blues and jazz but you have a very diverse taste and i give you props for it. 5/5

  • Yes Thats so true but we should never forget that for example Dave Murray is from the ground a really nice blues player and we can hear that when he plays with Iron Maiden and thats a good sign. I play everything i think is fun and i like swing a lot :)

  • Yea Dave Mrray is a big influence to me also. ha ha swing is really cool dude.
