  • Thats true. Gangsta rap blew up in the westcoast, but Schooly D was the first gangsta rapper...respect

  • real shit!

  • for real!

  • one of my favorite ALL time beats" mc mc mc mc mc mc's"

  • Oh my god!

  • schooly at the LQ was insane.... 1987

  • beautiful

  • this back when Philly niggas used to say Homie and Homes while NY niggas said Homeboy.

  • G'z up!!!!

  • OLD SCHOOL NEVER DIE !!!!

  • my all timer right here!

  • In my opinion Schooly is the first & realest type of gangsta with a large public, He did'nt give crap about the scene or public opinion. He made records on own label without a $ angle. School & Code rule !

  • @5e8 was considered under ground before psk and this..

  • The version I remember was totally different, I am confused.....

  • So this is how real ganxta rap started!!On the North Side of Philly(East Coast), then inspired the O.G's from the West like Ice-T

  • @cariocabassa exactly

  • Dope track!

  • Philly baby!!

  • @jcont1000 Schoolly was the first "real" gansta rapper then, it originated in Philly, but blew up in the west coast nuff sed.

  • @jcont1000

nice try but thats wrong .. the westcoast only did electro funk bboy /party rap tracks in 1984 till 1986

But you can tell me any street-related track

good examples are dr. dre & yellas 'wold class wreckin crew' or ice cubes 'stereo crew'

  • @jemiedub I agree Gangster Rap Def Started On East Coast in the Early '82 -83 bnut c'mon man you know, Oakland for a fact was rockin gangsta Rap in '84- Too Short was already Puttn on. LA was trickling it in on underground tip aswell.

  • @jemiedub your 100% correct , and ice t's the coldest rap....lol ice t was the first to really put it down for west coast gangsta rap ,but he admitted that he got the idea from schooly dee; when he heard 1 of schoolys records in a club .

  • @jcont1000 - well i guess we'll just have to take your word for it then won't we being as there's no primary evidence? If you have no recording to back your claim then how do you know that someone else somehwere else eg. NY didn't do it before WC. Breeze.

  • @merelyateacher i really hope u dont mean west coast by WC.... cause rap started LONG before on the EAST COAST.....

  • @seehound619 - fret not. i was responding to someone claiming that gangsta rap started on WC.

  • @merelyateacher aight... peace.... frum the 619 area......

  • Yea..first Gangster Rap Record...run dmc bit this also ....with sucker mc's

    work of art..

  • @Noirvids1 The Sucker MC's 12" came out in 1983, so it seems it's the other way around.

  • @floede Coming out on a 12" or LP in the 80's was a very very big deal...most of the songs by the time they came out on wax was songs the artists would do and had been doing at shows for yrs.....I know exactly what im talking about because I know this man personally. It was written in 1982 and performed all thru 83 and 84. Came out on wax in 84

  • real rap.

  • this ish is hard...come to lola in st. louis on a tuesday...it will be in the mix

  • First Gansta rapper ever! u can ask Ice T!
